How was cuddlecomfort pre-covid era?

I joined CC post covid era & I wonder how it used to be here before covid was even a known thing ... was the site as a whole more active or do you find that it is the same or maybe even more active now, also I tend to imagine that people in general aren’t up to meet/cuddle now or in recent times for obvious reasons , what are your thoughts on CC both pre covid & post covid era...

Seems to me the forums are a bit busier, anyhow. I remember posting things and coming back the next day to see if anyone had responded. Don't have to wait that long now.

If you're envisioning that maybe pre-covid there were a lot more active members on the site and it was easier to find a cuddle partner, no. It was still a relatively sparsely populated site, there was still a very skewed male:female ratio, etc.

Probably overall some people are more hesitant to cuddle now than pre-covid, but I don't think it's been a dramatic change in the nature of the site.

If you're a white man with money in New York I'm sure it will be fine. You don't have to give your identification to anyone, or follow any safety guidelines that relate to your identity.
The same week I was hashing this out with someone from NJ and with CC in the forums.. I got a lot of backlash over my concerns from men joking about taking a gun with me.. and also that was the week a serial killer from NJ who met people from social media had been found. https://www.investigationdiscovery.com/crimefeed/serial-killer/slain-woman-s-loved-ones-use-social-media-to-lure-new-jersey-ser

CC doesn't seem to want to change their safety policy or recommendations despite multiple concerns.
    And likely, neither will you!
    Welcome to the community!!

    @BooksnTeas

It's hard to imagine how you think that is a reasonable response to the topic at hand.

@CuddleMeLater, the question was how was the site pre-covid, correct? That's how it was in my exchanges.. set up for people with money to get what they want, and set up for cuddlers like me to never meet anybody because I couldn't convince creepy men on a site that encourages this kind of autonomy that meeting stangers for an hour isn't comfortable.
Before COVID this was a site where the only interactions that were safe to engage in were in this forum. But we can ignore it, since you're a dude. This way after COVID, it will be just as it was before. Better?

Also, hard to imagine that I was trying to convince someone not to meet me anonymously, without being able to rely on this community or site for corroboration. And met him, and experienced him trying to convince me to get together in a private space without telling me who he was, on the same week I got the news another man from NJ with similar social media habits raped and murdered women.. and that your response is not sympathy, but rather that you're trying to teach me a lesson. But here we are!
*for the record, I tried to address it then and raised that context and got a similar response. So.. sorry to interrupt your service! Maybe if one of y'all content men showed up against policies that cater to violent people, I wouldn't be coming on here explaining the experience meeting up before covid wasn't anything I'd be able to vouch for.

  • I agree with you @CuddleMeLater , & I’ll leave it at that, really don’t like to engage in negative behavior and don’t see why someone would be a part of a community when they don’t agree (or see anything wrong with the guidelines) but most importantly of all, don’t feel safe.

  • @BooksnTeas ~ "... meeting stangers for an hour isn't comfortable."

True for me in that an hour is barely long enough to get past the greetings and initial anxieties, let alone settling into and having a good cuddle with someone too. 3.5+ hours is a much better starting point (IMO)...

Before during and after covid.. you Removed personal attack [-Sid] think that it's negative for someone else to say they had a bad experience and that it's not safe here.
    Cheers!

  • @quixotic_life I'm more comfortable with a few months.

  • Dang! A snuggle sesh that goes for a few months...! Yeah, I want to find me a cuddle compatible guy who's down for that!!!

    Race/generalization removed.[-Sid]

  • @quixotic_life, yes! I hope you get that!

@BooksnTeas I don’t understand why you’re trying to perpetuate misandry here by linking a disaster in NJ to something many women will experience by possibly connecting on here. As the website states, safety is the responsibility of each person to vet before meeting. You have to meet strangers and establish a relationship to cuddle “even for an hour,” and it takes time to find the right person to establish months worth of sessions with. You are bound to meet people you are incompatible with and very few people who have unpleasant behavior. So if you feel you need to carry a gun to a session to meet a man, I strongly think you don’t trust this community and therefore should find cuddling elsewhere. Otherwise you need to learn to set boundaries and communicate if you feel uncomfortable before and during a session, not demand you be allowed to walk in with a damn gun.

@introvme I can say post-COVID this website will be more active and positive. There’s a shortage of available female pros and enthusiasts so I can see that reversing when such health risks are no longer a concern for both sides. Also I look forward to it! I love to meet new men and hear so many interesting stories during sessions 🥰

  • @Allerdale Thank you soo much for your kind soul ☺️ 🌌

  • I think if you scroll back through the forums you'll see there have always been ebbs and flows. People come, they fight, maybe cuddle, they leave, the cockroaches stay (am I a cockroach yet? It's been like four years).

Anywhosers I don't think much has changed. Maybe slightly busier forum.

  • @Sashamcgee you are one cuddly cockroach !

  • [Deleted User]Ennea2HugU (deleted user)

@pmvines and @Sashamcgee I think we should make badges. ;)
The tourist- for those just checking out, visiting, curious, but probably not staying
The centipede- for the creeps who have an agenda that is not in line with what cc is
The cockroach- for those who are here to stay even in case of nuclear fallout
The boa constrictor- for the enthusiastic hugger
The fox- for the pros in it for the money
The bear-for those who wish to nurture and care (pro or enthusiast)
Shattered glass heart- for those in desperate need of comfort

  • @Ennea2HugU Ooh I think I could get a few badges then!

    @pmvines you tooo 😜🤗

  • Like a good little scout with our badges

  • maybe the best choice is to talk to people on the phone first to get a feel for each other before meeting and set up a a place you both feel isafe to meet. I am new here and have 0 experience with this community so far so feel free to take my statement however you , please or just completely ignore it. I'm not aware of too many things but i know what i know if you know what i mean. I like you guys. Do you like me?

  • @Allerdale, did you read me saying that I want to bring a gun to meet people? That was a misread.

  • @Invisible_Touch Yes, I feel like the more interaction I have with someone before meeting, the more comfortable I am with it. I think talking on the phone helps.

  • It's uncomfortable to cuddle someone who has a machine gun strapped to their waist.

  • @Invisible_Touch ~ I fully agree and won't meet without a phone call! Plus, Yay! for the Edie Brickell & New Bohemians quote!

And, yes, I like you ~ do-doo yeah...
What I am is what I am
Are you what you are, or?

  • As a pro who started about seven months before the onset of the pandemic, I have noticed a decline. There are definitely less people seeking this out and many people who were cuddling on a regular basis decided to stop cuddling with the pandemic. But there is also a new subset of clients who are seeking out cuddling because of all the isolation and social distancing. I think cuddling will come back in popularity once the pandemic is over. It definitely takes more work on my end to keep myself consistently booked than it used to.
