This is not limited to another person ... it can definitely be a pet 🐶 nature 🌱 & everything in between... who or what makes you feel most loved ♥️ who or what do you completely give your heart & love to and makes it all worth it! 🌌
My lovable supportive patient hubby is my world. The fact that he trusts me to do this as a career and help me prepare for cuddlers shows his support and care for me. 💖💖 he’s so perfect 😍
That’s really awesome that you have that person who is so considerate & supports you in this !! I’m wayyy too needy & I’ll be jealous in such situation lol god bless you both ♥️ 🌌 ☺️
@introvme thanks a bunch ☺️☺️
Connection to God.
Most definitely @littermate
Being held and looked at. For someone to take the time with me and give me tiny kisses. To have my hair pushed behind my ears and held so close for a moment I can relax and the world is ok. When a person gives me something they think is silly that just reminded them of me a rock a flower just something small. It doesn’t take much for me to feel loved but I am so guarded now I don’t know if I can allow myself to be loved anymore.
@verona I know exactly what you mean. I'm sorry you've reached this point, may the cuddle fairy bless you with comforting snuggles and warm hugs.
@verona wow that was poetry! & plz don’t guard yourself ... tear the walls down a bit & give it a chance again but just know that disappointment may follow / or that love you want -again-
I feel lived when helping other people and seeing their happiness. Being out in nature gives me that same feeling.
God and my fellow Christians for sure. If you are not a spiritual person I understand. For a long time I was not in the place i am now
@Mmart I love that response!
That’s amazing @Invisible_Touch
@introvme Thanks. Good topic for a thread
Thank you!!
I was raised without love. One of my devoutly Christian parents hated me and wanted me dead, while the other just plain didn't care if I lived or died (I liked him best). So I have very little experience with what it feels like to be loved. I did ask each of my nine siblings what it's like—my parents loved them—but outside information is never quite the same, you know?
With that disclaimer out of the way, I think I feel most loved when I see someone suffering for my sake.
It feels warm, like a pleasant bubble expanding in my chest, and I can't entirely believe it's happening. I look at their tears, or their pain, their fear and determination, and I feel like I'd do almost anything to keep them by my side.
I want them with me forever, because they care for me that much!
Nothing else makes me feel that way.
Is that the feeling of being loved? Based on descriptions I think it is—but, as previously remarked, I don't have a whole lot of personal experience in this area, so I can't be sure. In any case, this is what makes me feel most like hanging on to somebody and doing my best to give them whatever they need to stay in tip top shape (even if it means hurting myself a bit), which I think might be a sort of reciprocal love.
Maybe.
I'm really not an expert here.
Having family and friends in my life helps a lot. I also have a cat who likes to be in the same room with me much of the time.
And verona also reminded me the little things can go a long way, too. Things like a little gift from someone, a hug, a compliment, etc.
@verona I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, and I hope you will be able to trust and let yourself be loved again.
@DarrenWalker do you feel they were just that way with you or your 8 other siblings as well, & why if I may (if not its totally fine) but wow... how can they be faith based & have such a resentment or hatred towards someone else, let alone their own child?
@introvme: Oh, well, the explanation's simple, really—I'm not actually human. You wouldn't expect a good Christian couple to treat a demon nicely, would you? Demons are evil! They'll take advantage of any good thing you do for them!
Of course, there's always the possibility that their actual kid's still in the body somewhere. So they tried, you know, to reach that normal human kid.
But nope. Not here. Just me, autist extraordinaire.
The other nine kids were fine. Normal. Obviously human. Not the least bit autistic. Not that my parents knew I was autistic! I mean, I didn't bang my head against walls, did I, and not only could I speak I started doing it early (same as reading and writing, I was doing that by age four), so how could I possibly have autism?
Nah, no way.
Clearly a demon.
Edit: In short, my parents didn't know Asperger's Syndrome existed. They did know demons existed, and that explained everything! Why look for another explanation when you already have one that makes perfect sense of everything?
@DarrenWalker It's sad that some parents treat their kids that way.
@FlyingToaster: I suppose. Personally, I see it as pretty much inevitable, given what they believe and what I was like as a kid—I don't blame them for it or anything. And like I say, I think I know what it feels like to be loved now. Probably. Maybe. Good enough for jazz, anyway!
@DarrenWalker yes, that is the feeling of being loved. I mean, assuming that's why they are doing it.
In fact it's more or less a superlative of what I was going to say. What makes me feel loved is to be thought of: to be held in mind in a way that produces a result that I can see and feel.
@verona ditto I feel exactly the same way! I have learnt to guard myself the hard way! On the other hand I have no complaints when it comes to feeling loved in general
There isn't a specific "who", but my "what" is primarily quality time ~ So it's when I'm checked up on, am gifted moments of real connection (like talk time free of distractions/interruptions), or I'm invited somewhere to do something together that I most feel loved.
What is love? I've come to the realization that I've never really experienced it...and I've been married three times!
I definitely get that @quixotic_life & can definitely relate : )
Wow @Pneuma what made you marry the 3 times (not judging or anything just curious if you felt you were in love @ the time & realize now that wasn’t the case, or something else)
@verona Very well said.
What makes me feel the most loved is just being held. Also, a quiet day spent in the woods does wonders for me as well.
Feeling wanted
Anyone who sticks around after seeing how deep the damage hole goes lol
My nieces and nephews are my world. I cherish every moment and interaction that I have with them. I don't have children of my own, so they are the closest thing that I have to kiddos. They are all grown up, but they still want an "Auntie squish and a sugar" every single time they see me. They make me feel loved...my Monkeys.
