This is a serious questions. I really like kissing and know that I could do it plantonically. I think it’s much easier for a lot of men to be platonic than women. What do y’all think?
Also, I’m not trying to offend y’all. Just being very honest.
Personally I don't see kissing as a platonic activity, unless it's a quick peck on the cheek or forehead. Making out is always sexual in my view, even if it's not considered romantic. My rule as a pro cuddler is no kissing at all, not even kisses on the cheek, face or body. Of course enthusiasts can set whatever boundaries they feel comfortable with, and some may be comfortable with kissing while others may not be.
Ahh, I appreciate your perspective!
I’d be excellent at platonic kissing. That is interesting to me how everyone draws a different boundary to closeness.
@ChibiShema
"I think it’s much easier for a lot of men to be platonic than women."
No.
"I’d be excellent at platonic kissing."
I highly, highly doubt that any prospective cuddler would find this reassuring in any capacity.
Haha. I see your point. I am really good at being platonic though. Ohhh. I’m laughing to tears.
Constantly saying that you're good at being platonic is mildly eerie. Please note: I'm not accusing you of anything, but really. It's strange.
@ChibiShema Even though there are people who might potentially do activities like kissing while maintaining a platonic mindset, the Terms of Service do mention this under Personal Boundaries:
"When communicating with another member, you agree to never indicate a desire to cuddle while doing any of the following: (1) being nude, (2) wearing only underwear, (3) kissing, (4) groping, (5) satisfying a fetish or kink, and (6) anything of a non-platonic nature."
It just helps keep the lines from becoming blurred!
Respectful, this is so helpful! It just seemed more fun with kissing. But I now understand. There is a system here and it works— wait?!?!? Does it work?
I’m so excited about my first professional cuddle! I just don’t want to mess anything up.
ChibiShema, I'm delighted you are having your first pro cuddle, and I'm even more delighted you are so excited about it. Congratulations!
As @respectful says, kissing is flatly banned under the TOS. Everything @UltimateChungus and @TouchSanctuary said is true.
With respect, given that this is your first pro cuddle, you have no idea if you are 'good' at platonic this or that. Nobody knows how they will react in the moment, with a certain person, to a particular thing.
Yes, when both parties want the system to work, it works extremely well. Look at my karma.
Lastly, I will take the liberty of offfering a piece of advice. When you are approaching your first pro cuddle, don't think about what you might do, or where the boundaries are. Don't go within a million miles of the boundaries: there is simply no need. 90% of the benefit of a cuddle comes from the physical closeness - it just doesn't matter what you do or don't do. That's why many cuddlers do things like watch a film. Merely holding hands or arm round the shoulder gives the sense of touch and closeness which is the thing we are trying to create.
I can understand the way you are thinking - I suspect a lot of people think I'd like to try this or do that - but it isn't necessary. All of those things can be kept for the second session, or the nineteenth, or never. For the first session, just get to know the person a little, take care of them - remember they are a little nervous too - and relax into the moment.
When you go to baseball match it's great to see a double play home run with the pitcher crashing into the umpire while a dog runs across the pitch. But you don't go hoping to see exactly that, you just want a good game. Cuddling is the same.
Duncan, thank you for this beautiful message. This is truly a gift. May I save what you have written?
How kind of you to say so, thank you. Yes of course.
You just don’t even allow the thought to enter your mind. If you were in a session with someone and they started leaning to that direction, you stop and remind them of the rules and that they agreed to them when they joined Cuddle Comfort. The boundaries have to be set before you even begin. I send each client that I meet with a Copy of the rules so there is no questioning about what is allowed. Congratulations on your first pro cuddle.
I really like kissing and know that I could do it plantonically.
There really is no such thing. No.
I think it’s much easier for a lot of men to be platonic than women.
I think you are not quite understanding the term platonic, perhaps equating it to the word romantic. Platonic means "intimate and affectionate but not sexual." I do not see how it's easier for men to be "not sexual" than women, especially coming from a man asking if it's okay to do a sexual act on a professional website.
Just no.
@bekah_cuddles I'm entirely with you.
Emphatically, the answer is no, @ChibiShema. Kissing is not platonic, it is not within the terms of service, and people can be banned for 1) promoting, 2) asking for, 3) and trying to break the site rules. As you're new to the site, I'm leaving the thread, but I am closing the topic. If you have any questions, reach out to any of the moderators (@Sideon, @SoulcuddlerZ). [-Sid]
