More than 6'2" for a cis man or trans woman, and more than 5'10" for a cis woman or trans man. Sorry if I left anybody out.
@ChibiShema the feeling of being held and secure happens almost natural with those of larger physical presence, however, I have found it really us because of the others parties intention, and additue. My boyfriend in college was 3" shorter than me (5"-6” if I wore heels) and didn't ever really notice our hight difference until I saw us in a mirror or picture. He had an attitude of confidence, and the intention of making me feel like a lady whom he desired to care for. Honestly, my very empathetic 2 year old has made me feel loved and secure because it was his intention to give me comfort as he has experience me doing for him, he had the confidence to do so because he has not had anyone tell him he couldn't or is not capable of doing so.
over 6'2" is tall for a man. Over 5'8" is tall for a woman.
I'm 5'2" which makes me a perfect little snuggle ninja!
6ft for a guy and 5'7 for a woman
I find it curious that so many people have different heights by gender, I mean you're either tall or you're not no matter what gender you identify as.
@NightShift39: 👍🏻 Word (as I think the kids used to say).
@NightShift39
I find it curious that so many people have different heights by gender
Well, of course! I've met only select few females in my life that were taller than me. By contrast, I met about three sh*tloads of taller men.
So, yeah - gender plays a role here.
I mean you're either tall or you're not
But that's relative to each person.
My friend is 6'4". Since it's just an inch of difference to me, he isn't tall to me by any stretch of imagination. Because he's thin/narrow, he actually feels shorter to me.
By contrast, my ex, who was 5'2 found him really tall.
It's all relative...
@Siberian76: Yeah, it's relative. Like I think I said earlier, I consider everybody taller than me tall and everybody who's shorter than me short. Be they male, female, or intersex, man, woman, or nonbinary, that doesn't change!
Edit: And me? Well, I'm pretty short for my height... in America, anyway.
I'm with you on this one @DarrenWalker Ones gender doesn't change wether I find them tall or not in the slightest.
@NightShift39 Average heights are usually listed by gender, since there is a clear difference. I rarely meet women my height or taller, so when I do I think, wow she's tall. Men my height are less remarkable to me, and have to be a few inches taller to be in the "tall" group for me.
I am so interested in everyone’s views. I never thought about the possibility of just grouping everyone as human rather than worrying about men’s heights vs women’s heights. This actually makes me feel better to hold this concept.
I reread the thread question and reconsidered. The question was “What height do you consider to be tall?”. That changes things.
When I reach a cruising altitude height of 36,000 feet that feels pretty damn tall.
Hmm @FunCartel
anything above 4’9 .....(I’m 4’9)
@DarrenWalker I was first very confused by your statement, but then I checked your profile and it said 5'3"
So, technically, majority of women you meet, are actually taller than you. So, yeah - it makes a very practical sense that gender doesn't play any role in how you perceive the height.
For me, to be in the same position as you, majority of women I meet would have to be 6'4+ Which is obviously not going to happen, ever, hence 99% of women I meet are short, because-well- they actually are shorter than me.
