Are us enthusiast here because we have low self esteem?
Moderate for both
I'm pretty confident that I'm not here due to my current level of self esteem overall. But many significant life choices were made during times of low self-worth and now I'm here, so....? π₯π£π
I honestly don't know anymore, I like BEING me just fine, as for caring about me one way or the other shrugs
I'm supremely confident in my ability to know what I want (a cuddle) and to find places where asking for what I want is most likely to get a positive reaction from people (sites like this one, certain people I know, etc). I also value myself very highly.
Can't speak for anyone else, but I'm definitely not here because I lack either confidence or self-esteem.
Self-esteem is a tricky one for me. While I am, without a doubt, the thing I value the most out of everything in the world (how could I value anything else without having me first?) ...even so, I'm mortally certain my life means nothing from an objective standpoint. So do I have high self-esteem? Or low?
That said, one of the benefits of living in a terrifying and painful world is that it teaches you to put survival first. I'm extremely confident in my ability to survive things like being hated, beaten, ostracized, etc., because I've already done it.
I'm here, on this site, because I'm not afraid of being rejected by strangers. I'm not even afraid of being rejected by people I thought were friends. Saying "yes, I want to touch you and be touched by you, here are my desires and boundaries, tell me yours" doesn't frighten me. Admitting that I don't want sex doesn't bother me. Touching and being touched by men, women, the nonbinary, asking them to touch me, to let me touch them (knowing they might say no, might even get angry)βnone of it scares me.
I've been screamed at by the people I trusted most, told I was hated, that they wished I would die, wished they could kill me, for the simple sin of existing. I've been called a psychopath by doctors who should've known better and threatened with being strapped to a table and pumped full of mind-altering drugs for the rest of my life by the same.
I've been beaten until I bled by people much bigger and stronger than me, lived in terror of eternal torture, lost my home, accidentally eaten a live roachβthere's not a whole lot I can't survive.
Life has not been kind to me, and in its unkindness it's given me very valuable gifts.
Very little frightens me. And when I am afraid? I'm not afraid to admit it. I know my strengths, and I know my weaknesses. I know my value to myself, and I don't expect to be of value to anyone else. Most of the time I know what I want and what I don't want, and I always admit it when I don't know. Why not? The truth won't change for denying it.
I don't think this is a site for cowards. The people here are here because we want to cuddle, gosh darn it, and we're not afraid to say so. Especially where saying so is most likely to do us some good.
Mine is very low life has not been kind to me.
I am very confident that sometimes I have low self esteem.
Like anything, everyone falls along several points on a spectrum of confidence and self-esteem. I think the frequency of the peaks and valleys and the length of the low periods is a better measurement.
I feel like I have pretty good self-esteem. Sometimes it comes and goes though (due to work circumstances or happenings in life), but if I'm feeling low self-esteem, usually it's not for very long.
I like being this dorky human. A lot.
Somewhere in between I don't always love who I am but I love who I'm becoming . @verona Sorry to hear that your such a beautiful woman from your pictures, things will get better, life comes in waves.
@JaydeCarebear your pics remind me of tlc & swv βΊοΈ (90βs vibe)
Personally I find I don't feel confident or not confident. I try to asses my abilities and performance realistically. I would say I have neutral self esteem as well.
