Silent Cuddles

Has anyone ever thought about just walking into a room and not having to say a word just start cuddling. Then stay as long as you want or have set up. Maybe some light music playing and then afterwards giving one last hug and going back to your daily activity’s. It may be strange but it’s uncomplicated and a curious idea. I am a nervous talker and sometimes feel I over talk and don’t relax as much.

  • Thar seems like a lovely way to start getting to know someone!

  • Been there, done that. Just once, with an enthusiast. It was an unusual situation, but it was great. The very strangeness of it made it more interesting/less routine ... more focused. For her, it was kind of a bucket list thing. For me, it was a pleasant surprise. If it appeals to you, I say go for it!

It does I would get to know the person before hand of course and then ask if they would entertain the idea for me. I am not sure why I think about it but I do.

@verona I have never engaged in what you described, but it sounds fantastic. I prefer not to talk all that much anyway (since I talk for a living and simply want to be in the physical, kinesthetic moment), but have not had the delight to explore the completely silent session.

  • I suppose if it were someone I knew of, I would at least consider it. But I think I'd rather be the one already in there ~ As long as I had someone I trust, doing the pre-screening for me (so I could maintain my silence) I think that scenario would be much less of an anxiety trigger...

  • This would be too perfect!!! & I could actually see this happening after a couple or few cuddle sessions where the 2 people just click & nothing else has to be said ☺️

  • I do this quite often with one of my clients. It's always makes the session feel more fluid and natural. I prefer quiet sessions over excessive talking personally. Too much chit chat and the time flies by, which seems unfair for them. Unless of course they want to talk, I'll certainly engage them, but silent sessions are always best for relaxation and seems to make time stand still in way.

  • Yes! I think about it all the time.
That unspoken understanding would be something beautiful <3

  • I'd have to be really in synch with someone or my adhd would never let this happen lol

  • Less BS, more cuddles- yeah, that sounds beyond amazing !!

  • Best sessions ever silence. No i really don't care about who you cuddled before me

  • Sounds ideal to me!

  • I am completely open to the idea, but it would require more communication beforehand to get all the specifics of what positions they like, etc.

That's an interesting idea. I tend to think communication is important as far as learning peoples' cuddle & touch preferences, but silent cuddles is something I might consider.

Thank you for all the responses to this @EarthlyAngel003 i loved how you worded that thank you lol

  • @verona I appreciate you for asking this question, and everyone else who responded! As it's something I've thought about as well. Actions speak louder than words as long as they are platonic in nature. There is an energetic exchange that happens during the art of cuddling which co-regulates the nervous system, a deep soul-connection and a sense of safety and security. Words sometimes merely serve as unnecessary interference to that connection. However that's merely my opinion, I'm sure there are others who would disagree and I lovingly respect that. I'm one who is empathic and open to feeling that connection regardless of language. For example meeting someone in a different country in which you don't speak the same language... Hugs just seem to break the language barrier and have this profoundly uplifting action which creates a connection of safety and the willingness to accept the person for who they are and where they are. Before the whole covid thing I would always greet people with a heart to heart hug if they were willing to engage in it. So to answer your question, Yes I'm one who is open to that.

@Lovelight that is my feelings exactly

  • [Deleted User]Duryea (deleted user)

I think it would be great. But I think in order to work the two would have to know each other very well.

  • [Deleted User]verona (deleted user)

@Duryea yeah I have mentioned that before. You strike up a good conversation and get a good idea what each other would like and maybe it’s idea for a second cuddle session idk I don’t know if I could pull it off but I would like to try.

It’s a beautiful idea. When I first meet someone, it’s nonstop conversation. But the second or third time meeting, words are not so necessary anymore. The lack of conversation would allow more focus on silent communication.

    Words. Who needs 'em?

  • I would love to walk into a room give the person a huge hug then sit down and just cuddle for a while. It was be nice and relaxing Human touch and being comfortable is important. And I haven’t had a hug in forever
