Most of my cuddles have been longer affairs usually full days, overnights, or entire weekends. So a combination of exchanging caresses, backrubs, hair stroking, ect. and periods of just holding eachother and basking in the moment is my norm.
I prefer a combination of both and open to many different cuddling styles.
I chose active touch / caressing - but if I notice that her nature is giving as well than I’ll switch it up too.
Every time my eye flicks onto this thread I'm slightly disappointed that its not about sonar.

I also like an active passive touch too ~ Hard to describe but totally a thing...
@CuddleDuncan I’m not at fan of active sonar, it kills marine animals.
Both are nice depending on time of day, mood, energy level etc. I met a nice girl where I work.
I realized I was touch starved beginning of 2020 and I slowly began incorporating passive touches with my friends and family, and it just grew from there. As much as I was struggling with lack of affection, they were too and so now I can honestly say I'm doing much better and getting the physical touch support I need.
I definitely prefer a combination of the two, some of that has to do with where my needs are and some of that has to do with the communication with the person I'm cuddling.
Passive-aggressive. I like it when someone rubs my back then comments pointedly about how nice it must feel.
I am a combination of both. The extent to which I cuddle either actively or passively depends on the preference and comfort level of the person I am cuddling.

@BrielleBronte ~ Same here (-ish) ~ My little cousin (12) saw me clicking around on here and was asking a lot of questions. I was surprised how relaxed of a convo it was. Since then there have been way more hugs from her and those that were in earshot! I'm not getting all the snuggles I need/want in general (I have to supplement elsewhere), but visits with those from that particular household have been way more sweet and snuggly than they ever were before! 😶
