Of course. That is what our minds do naturally when we cuddle. It’s on purpose that all those happy hormones are released.
Um... @introvme ... How did you obtain that gif of me being squished on???
@quixotic_life I searched quixotic _life & that came up 😝
No I don’t fall in love I do form bonds after a while but I feel love makes thing more complex then what I am willing to afford myself and don’t want to force some to feel like they have to feel the same towards me. Part of the reason that some are here is because the l word has hurt them deeply in some way. Am I the only one?
I don't fall in love with people. Cuddles make me feel good, all right, but love? Eh... not unless the kind of love I've got for a nice hot cup of tea or a really good book counts.
I don't fall in love or even form stronger attachments with people from cuddling. Don't get me wrong, I do really enjoy the time I spend cuddling with people, and I feel fantastic afterwards. But when the cuddle is over, no feelings of closeness remain.
Uh no. If I wanted to fall in love i’d be on a dating site. Feel closer to the person? Sure. Happier after? Heck yeah!
But love is absolutely not on the table.
I think there are many definitions of "love." I probably experience as many flavors of love as eskimos have words for snow. Since I have the capacity to turn off my "hubba hubba" channel, which is already pretty dulled by being post-menopausal, mostly I just fall in love with my cuddlers because my heart's open and they're dear. And there's lots of flavors of dear. So far of my 3 cuddlers, 2 were my historic "type" and certainly adoration was flowing, but there was no confusion or "oh gee, I'm falling in love with you" kinds of things. I imagine with the open heart thing that no matter who I cuddled, I'd feel more tender towards them post-cuddle than pre-cuddle unless the cuddling experience was somehow annoying or super awkward or whatever. Likely we all have different penchants (hahaha, pluralizing "penchant" is fun) for sexualizing, and different bandwidths for letting love flow, depending on who we are and what roads we've been walking and for how long.
Yay love.
I fall in love .... especially if I’m cuddling & she throws her leg over me & locks her eyes with mines 💕🥺🙈 ... next time I seek to cuddle I’m Gonna tell my cuddle buddy to wear shades 😎 so our eyes don’t lock 🔐😅😂
& you’re right @littermate at there being many definitions of “love”
After cuddling someone (particularly someone new), I think it can be easy to feel positive happy feelings toward that person, but I'd be careful to call it love. Cuddling naturally produces happy feelings, so I think there is potential for cuddling to develop into a romantic loving relationship, if both people want that - which is why I think communication is very important. It's important to be clear about each others' boundaries and intent when cuddling. If you go into a cuddle session knowing that it's just platonic cuddles, I think it's easier to be careful not to let yourself get carried away with any feelings you might have. On the other hand, if two people meet with the intent of dating each other, that's a situation where it's more appropriate to let oneself learn toward developing a loving relationship.
I hear you 100% @FlyingToaster ... in total ive cuddled 5 ladies (not just from here) & with each & everyone of them I went into it as platonic , never with the intentions of “I’m gonna romantically like them” .... there was 1 out of the 5 that I really liked instantly like crush / romantic / or however else you wanna say it ... did I acted differently? no ... did I tell her anything ... no .... but I really did, & its not like I expected it to happen she was just it, so I’m impressed that everyone can control the act of liking someone or not.
Lol @introvme ~ Hilarious! The first couple times I cuddled with someone, I couldn't look them in the eye because I was so scared of a potential emotional head trip!! I glanced for a split second once and was like, "NOPE, Nope, nope!!!" and quickly re-buried my face in his chest! 🤦♀️ I seriously felt like such a weirdo!! 🙇♀️
@quixotic_life you get it 💯 %! 😅😂
If you catch yourself starting to have feelings for someone during/after a cuddle, I think it's good to remember that could potentially happen with anyone you cuddle, which is why I'd be careful to call it love. The initial excitement & happy feelings could potentially be confused with love, but I think it's normal and natural to feel happy feelings when you're having a good time with someone, particularly with someone new. It's not necessarily love as in a long-term relationship.
Yeah bruh when I said “do you fall In love when you cuddle” on the title I didn’t mean it literally lol I meant it like feeling butterflies ect .... Love is a strong word it takes a lot to get there but like littermate said earlier there are many definitions of “love” ... me i fall in love easily (love isn’t put into one box for me) ... there could be a co-worker at my new job that takes it upon him or her self to stay a little bit late after its time to go home to show me how to sign up for certain perks & benefits & show me things like days off or how to request them, (instantly I’m like wow they took time off their day to help me) or I could be struggling opening the door to my building with soo many bags from target / Costco ect & they wanna hold the door open & the elevator ... again I’m like wow!! ... like basically & especially selfless acts, I love these kind souls automatically regardless who they are ...
I think I might function a bit differently than most, I am quite prone to loving my cuddles as people, as friends, sometimes as confidants. My liking and trusting someone is a primary requirement for letting them close enough to me for a mutually satisfying cuddle. Falling in love though is a very different animal and this has never happened as of yet.
@littermate we definitely need more words that mean love. Because there are all different types of love just like the Eskimos and their snow.
When you are touching someone else’s skin, holding them, being close to them, looking into their eyes, two hormones are released. Those hormones are serotonin and oxytocin. Those hormones bond us to whomever we are touching.
For example; It is very important for us to bond to our babies and children. This bonding is extremely necessary for children’s mental health and development. This is why we must hold our babies and love our babies. And this reward system is in all human beings, that of getting the positive hits of serotonin and oxytocin. It makes us feel good so we want to repeat that behavior. And that behavior is necessary for survival. Especially in new babies.
The reward system of serotonin and oxytocin which make us feel good, bonded, in love, however you want to define it, is what we are seeking out here when we actually are cuddling.
Dopamine and epinephrine are the hormones we feel when we are excited to go and meet our cuddle friend. Those are the hormones that motivate us to set up an appointment or to drive to meet our buddy for cuddling. These hormones are exciting and get us up off the couch and doing things we enjoy. They inspire us to seek out pleasure.
Aren’t there any neuroscientists in the group?
The bottom line is is that when you are cuddling someone, anyone, your body is producing these wonderful hormones that help you bond, fall in love, create feelings for, feel chemistry, whatever you want to call it with your cuddle partner. So your mind, your hormones, your body is technically bonding to the other human being you are with. It doesn’t mean that you’re going to love them tomorrow or the next day. You may never want to see them again. All you are doing is creating that environment where serotonin and oxytocin are being produced in order to help you fall in love.
Ya silly gooses. This is just science.
@Importance literally everything you just said! ☺️
Nope . And if that's what I was looking.for.i wouldnt be trying to find it on a platonic cuddle site
@verona
Part of the reason that some are here is because the l word has hurt them deeply in some way. Am I the only one?
Maybe not exactly, but I just went through a divorce a few months ago. I saw this site and was interested because I was feeling touch-starved and neglected in the last months of my marriage.
I hear you completely @pmvines ... & you brought up a great point, what if we weren’t actually looking for it here but found it
@pmvines I have found it very difficult to find men that like to cuddle from regular dating sites. When I was growing up and throughout my 20s, I thought that everyone liked as much cuddling affection as I did. I was wrong. I prefer cuddles over sex. That is why I am here. I am still a sexual human being and hope to be in a committed dating relationship before the end of the world. But in the meantime, I’m so happy to get platonic cuddles.
Many men on dating sites aren't even looking for a date. They just want to pump and dump.
@Mike403 & many woman too don’t forget that 😅plus that’s the case regardless where or what platform ... I’m sure there’s a good percentage on ChristianMingle that wanna do the same but not all.
I had a boyfriend about a year ago and he asked me if there would ever be a day when we didn’t have to cuddle for 12 hours before we had sex. That made me laugh.
And my college boyfriend always makes fun of me saying that I used to make him jump through hoops just to get laid.
I just have to be upfront now and tell all men that you must cuddle me for hours and hours and hours on end before I am ready for anything extra.
Once again. I understand that this is a Platonic Cuddling site. Please contact my attorney in writing for all further inquiries. And direct your attention to my profile for the link to my OnlyFans.
Good day!
@introvme that'd be like saying what if you aren't looking for it but went to insert random place here and found it . I dont feel this site is an exception nor do I feel it Is more likely to be a place for that. And my answer is still no
gotcha @pmvines
It's easy for me to love people. Like others have said above, there are many kinds of love. Sometimes I feel a profound love for someone that seems more than platonic but not romantic or sexual. Sometimes I get a sense of someone's soul and I feel like I really SEE them, and they become so dear and precious to me. I think of it as the kind of love that a figure like Jesus would have for others and all living things. But sometimes I close myself to all that, usually from some kind of emotional trauma. And it feels like hell. Eventually I come back to the Light and my heart opens up...kind of like in the old cartoon version of the Grinch when his heart grows three sizes or whatever. I think of it as the Sacred Heart of Christ, even though I claim no religious affiliation.
@NightShift39 and @pmvines ~ Yepitty, yep, yep, yep!!!! 🥰 And a mess of what @littermate and @FlyingToaster said too!!!
Really, I love being loving, I love being loved on, and I love being loved! But I don't love the idea of someone being in love with me.
Actually, I don't know if I even know what, "in love" means. And it's not like I'm vehemently opposed to finding out, but if someone ever said to me, "I'm in love with you." I'd be stunned because I just can't see it ever happening. IDK why that is, but it is what it is.
So... yeah... I guess my answer is, "No, I don't." 🤷♀️
