Awww thanks @introvme your pretty awesome yourself bro hugs
Thank you @NightShift39 : )
Currently working on figuring out how I might feel I'm awesome... Not having an in-person connection to where my awesomeness shines the brightest, for nearly 10 months now, has made it hard to feel any bit of awesome at all.
If tooting our own horns for our "pretty goodness" or "decentness" then I might be able to scrape together some things... but "awesome" is elusive.
🤔you’re all awesomesauce in my book!😂
@quixotic_life your are awesome at making others feel welcome and accepted, also at keeping a convo going on multi hour phone calls
@introvme any time mate you amuse the hell out of me and sometimes even make me think
Lol @NightShift39 ~ Okay then...
I'm awesome because I have a gift for talking on the phone for hours and hours on end! Even with those who have said their prior longest was around 15 minutes. 💓 Whether new to me, an old friend, or a wrong number it's something that just happens ~ Far more often than not. 🤗
addition: NS39 ~ Thank You!!!
Happy new year @introvme you beautiful soul 💛
I agree with @ElleCuddleMi. I like your spirit @introvme. You are a good person.
You all seem to know each other, are supportive and have fun together. That's pretty awesome of each one of you whether you realize it or not. I really like that spirit.
I'm Jim. I help people learn about themselves in different ways. It's one of my things that make me uniquely me. I don't work with groups, but I like this exercise which is very cool. One of the things I tell the people I'm working with is that there are any number - 1 to who knows how many things that we came out of the womb with that makes us astoundingly amazing. And these are the things that come so easy to us we have no idea how amazing it is for us to have these skills, or ways of thinking, problem solving, leadership, ways to talk or love other people. There's no end to it. Even just 1 major plus of our being is super potent, and entirely fantastic. But we NEVER see these things in ourselves. It's crazy that we can't see our best features or abilities. And some of us walk around so much of our lives with no idea this stuff in us exists. If we only knew this "secret" about ourselves we could understand better the beautiful human that we are. And if we knew about this we could use these things, and develop and blossom them into bigger more capable aspects of our existence. Which for most of us is the things we do to make our sphere of influence a better place.
I build people up. Empower them. I love people. We're all amazing in incredible ways, but we can also be kind of broken, sort of weird - whatever. So I talk straight to people. I'm not here to judge.
I also write. Not saying what I've written here is an example but I get so many people that tell me they love to read what I write. They say it flows and is clear & understandable. I have no idea what they're talking about. But I'll join them and say I love reading someone skilled who can truly write.
I have good hands for human to human touch. I got a mention on that in karma.
Anyway... I'm happy to get to know you via lurking. Now you know something about me.
Ty soo much @ElleCuddleMi 😔 🌌
@FunCartel , thank you, really! 🙏 🌌
@StLJim you’re absolutely right ... I have a brother who is able to find musical talent & start vibing to then before they blow up (I would forever tell him he should consider being A&R) I have another brother who points out every single mistake or glitch I’m movies / pictures / videos ect (I’m always telling him he should become production editor he is too good at this but does it for the laughs) I have a sister who I swear is naturally gifted for interior design , her homes have been out of this world , this is a natural gift that she has, she would be on top of the industry in any market she chooses... but they don’t know this (or believe it about themselves) I see it clear as day , these are there specific unique talents & they are soo taking it for granted or maybe don’t believe it in themselves ... sorry I know I wrote a bit too much but just wanted to point out that you’re absolutely right about that : )
I can do lots of silly voices, and make a multitude of horrific noises.
And so @UltimateChungus we'll hear you doing a new character on the simpsons, or some new show. Or entertaining kids in your family and then more public places, and then... well, who knows what's next? You could record sound effects for radio - things that make people laugh. Or sound effects for colleges to use in student video productions. Have fun with that!! It is a gift !!!!
@StLJim: More like we'll be watching a new monster movie and the terrifying creature will make the kinds of sounds you're sure have to have been created using advanced audio editing and a number of different nonhuman animals—but there his name will be in the credits: "monster noises – @UltimateChungus."
Then I'll hear the same fiendish noises in the kitchen and have to go get my brown pants.
@StLJim
I wanted to be a voice actor in the past. Now I'm simply content to amuse a couple of people.
Once, with a different account, I did dramatic readings of weird posts here on Cuddle Comfort. That was quite some time ago, so I imagine the thread is buried, and the Vocaroo files no longer hosted. Oh well.
Because... I’m a really bad liar so my policy is just always be honest ...it’s easier and has served me well in life.
I have been complimented on having good hands for platonic touch and massages so that’s cool. Actually starting to trust my touch more with other cuddle buddies.
I can usually get a read on most people without them saying a thing.
@UltimateChungus that is one of the things I love about Mike Patton . Even if you are not a fan of Faith No More , Mr. Bungle, or his solo work , his voice range is mighty impressive. He does voices effects for different projects. I dont know enough of them to be able to name off but I know he did the voice effects for the creatures in that Will Smith movie I Am Legend
Am I awesome? Pondering what precisely this means. That peptides can bond together like molecular Legos, and create the Sistine Chapel etc is mind bendingly awesome. Why should I not include myself in that? It's a start at least, whenever I feel like crap. Which is often, especially this time of year. I have compassion for others. I have on occasion been able to overlook my own pain and hurt, to feel genuine concern for one who inflicted that pain on me. I keep trudging uphill, however fitfully. That's something.
Awesome. Something that instills a sense of awe. Yeah, not me by any stretch of the imagination. I would like to think that I am a gentle man. And in the past have been able to make large groups of people laugh. With these two things, gentleness and humor, I am satisfied.
@lovelyhugs I will gladly give witness to those hands of yours! Trust them and yourself. 😊
☺️
@quixotic_life You are awesome!
@FlyingToaster ~ Thank you and right back at ya! 💖🤗
@quixotic_life Thank you
I have gotten really good at keeping plants, something I stared to do once moved to new home
@BrianL Sometimes people notice things about you that you don't. Or maybe your depression is holding you back from seeing the great things about you. Depression is just there to cloud your judgement so it's just there to lie to you. Fight it. You are unique and no one can ever be able to play the role that you play in the world.
@hugonehugall you are fairly awesome if I may say so myself.
@pmvines I was catching up on all of this and I am so thankful for you. What a beautiful way for us to try something that might be slightly difficult. "It's just an exercise in recognizing our own positive attributes and strengths . I've employed it in group counseling sessions to challenge peoples thought processes about themselves as well as how others see them."
No not posting about ego ** Post about what you like about yourself** I am a big hairy beast, I have a youthful cool vibe in a non weird old guy trying too hard to be hip kind of way Animals dig me YOU FORGOT TO SAY FABULOUSLY QUIRKY WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR THAT GOES FOR DAYS!
(This feels a little funny but YOU ARE RIGHT! Its a good exercise) I'm not going to blather on about me or self-deprecate either. I was just thinking about what I love about me today. I am thoroughly in LOVE with my ability to be optimistic. Not everyone thinks that is a good thing but I have finally come to a place in my life where I am ok with being EXACTLY who I am. My teenage son made me laugh so hard because he said "You are the most stupidly optimistic person I know!" We were having kind of a bad day of moving and things but I laughed so hard and said YOU'RE RIGHT!!!! I LOVE ME! 🥰
When I was in 7th grade and I was in a gifted and talented learning program that really didn't live up to all that it promised, my mental health issues were just starting to creep up and I began skipping school. That was the last place I wanted to be. Teachers tried to get a hold of me and my mother to talk about the issues, but nobody really had any solution for me other than "just show up". This one talk I was having with my math teacher (who I really didn't like at the time since she wasn't exactly kind) has always stuck with me. She asked me if I knew the meaning of the word resilient, and at that time, it was actually a new word for me. She said she could sense that I'm resilient, and I've told myself that ever since, whenever I'm going through something. I like that I'm resilient. Obviously I'm young but for the life I've led, I've been through some ish. I'm always amazed how I can go through whatever and come out of the other side of it okay, and hell, sometimes even better than I was before I went through it.
