Does anyone really 'get it'?

I'm beginning to wonder if anyone gets the objective of this site.

The forum is increasingly being filled with threads that divide along gender/sexuality (one even going so far as to expressly exclude male participants). Does this really advance platonic cuddles?

 I don't think so. It just comes across as divisive to me.

    i get it perfectly well, and the problems the concept faces. "Gender imbalance" is a major issue & I initiated the discussion as a place where women could voice thier opinions. You objecting to that? Have you read the highly intelligent, well written, extremely comprehensive feedback on already? Don't like some of what's there? Takes 2 to tango, & if any progress is going to be made, we as males have to better understand the female point of view.

    Gender imbalance won't be addressed by anything said on the forums. It will be addressed by the site attracting more people and becoming equally attractive to both genders. If women don't feel comfortable voicing their opinions on the site in general, creating a women only ghetto won't help that. So, yeah. I'm objecting to that.

    Hello, I've been reading the forum to learn about the community and I found the thread in question (http://www.cuddlecomfort.com/forum/discussion/306/female-opinions-please-gender-gap#latest) really interesting. It helped me understand the issue and added to what I had learnt from previous threads where there was no restriction on who contributed. I was also glad to find a positive thread on transgender cuddles. When looking to resolve an issue it's good to hear as many voices as possible. Hearing voices with clarity in a community sometimes involves isolating them (eg. women only). A more constructive approach might be creating a similar thread to hear only men and then bringing the two together from a point of mutual understanding perhaps with a thread looking for solutions (in regard to attracting more people and being equally attractive to ALL genders - inclusivity is key and also looking at why men are less inclined to cuddle other men and if that is something that could change). Whatever, I just know that I'm grateful to all thread starters and contributors who are helping me understand this site and community and I'm more likely to stick around, thankyou :)

    Bravo, Julia, for pointing out how to take something that you think might be divisive and make it into something that could bring people together.

    I'm sure most people are here because they are open to platonic cuddling, but as with any community like this, of course you will get a glut of "thirsty" men who far outnumber female users, and female users trying to make money/get free stuff.

    As a woman, I like to keep things more fair and equal instead of trying to get free stuff. What I sometimes end up having to do is just let the cuddle buddy pay for a movie or food if he really wants to and then I'll turn around and pay for something else or I'll pay the next time. I actually have the expectation of paying for myself, but I think men are so used to paying that many will try to pick up the check. Perhaps, this is something I should mention before we get together so they aren't wondering if they should pay. I'm just so used to going out to eat with female friends where we each just generally pay for ourselves unless one of us announces otherwise beforehand.

    It seems like a lot has changed since this thread was started in 2015. From the current discussions on the forum, it seems like a lot of people "get" what this site is for, even though a good deal of divisiveness still occurs. The people who don't "get" it are all the people that those who don't put profile pictures up feel they need to hide from.
