Theon Greyjoy is my favorite character from the Song of Ice and Fire series. And the show, too. His character arc is amazing.
I've told people this before, and they've been confused. "Why him?" My response to that is: "Imagine if JRR Tolkien was good at writing characters, and we got to see Sméagol become Gollum over the course of several books. This is what we get with Theon, to a certain extent."
I’m not familiar with the second characters. Are you describing a transformation? from what to what?
Yeah, Sméagol transforms into Gollum after possessing the one ring for a while. This transformation mostly happens outside the Lord of the Rings books. It's briefly touched upon, though. Briefly.
Theon Greyjoy— well I’m only in the middle of season seven so I don’t believe I have seen his full transformation yet— but he goes from being a hurt rejected son, acting out against whores, being a total c***, and desperately seeking his father’s approval and love to being someone shredded into absolute submission as a severely abused animal. It does seems that there is hope for him yet in the middle of season 7. He has been a very dynamic character for certain!

@Importance: Since this thread is now the pair of us, apparently, I don't know whether this question was directed at me or @UltimateChungus. But I want to answer this one, so hey! I think I will.
I spend my nights repairing the damage done to a small building by the intellectually challenged (as they continue to come in and trash things throughout the night). I also sell them damaging substances, chase them off when they try to make a home for themselves in the building or follow others around begging for things, and get yelled at when they can't pay for whatever it is they want to buy or if they're just having a bad life.
In other words, customer service.

I don't believe Lord of the Rings was intended for children—at least not like The Hobbit was. Now, would Sméagol turning into Gollum be a "journey"? Not really. It would be rather dark and depressing, though, at least compared to every other character arc. Then again, I enjoy that sort of thing. Tolkien's work contains far too much "good guys are pretty and good while bad guys are ugly and bad". It would be neat to see Sméagol develop outside of that simplistic view, to get his perspective. Alas, I think Tolkien's Catholicism is far too apparent most of the time.

Oftentimes it can be difficult to discern whether something is, or isn't, an elephant. Here are a few helpful tips that have served me well throughout the years:
Discern whether or not the creature you're about to snuggle up against is bipedal or quadrupedal. Invariably, pachyderms are four-legged animals—excluding the possibility of deformity by way of birth or violence. Additionally, it's worthwhile to consider the size of the legs in question. The common house cat typically posseses four small legs that are fuzzy to the touch, and end in paws tipped with claws. All varieties of elephant have very large, wrinkly legs, with broad circular feet. If in doubt, ask yourself: "Could one foot from this creature, whatever it may be, crush my skull into a pulpy mess?"
Take into account the size of the entity you wish to cuddle. An African bush elephant is around 13,000 pounds: an Asian elephant around 8,800, and an African forest elephant is near 6,000 pounds. Most terrestrial mammals—including the average Walmart shopper—are nowhere near this massive. Also, while considering matters of size and weight, keep in mind tip #1; this will help in discerning between a Walmart shopper and a baby elephant.
Elephants have a very long nose called a "trunk". It sits in the center of their faces, much like a human nose, but is flanked by relatively small eyes—and further still—by huge ears. Trunks are flexible, and can be used to grab things like branches, sticks, and the necks of annoying humans.

I don't think it would be possible. The cow would likely shake off the cats and trample them.
