First Impressions / Messaging 101

For those looking to, "up their communication game" &/or those who'd like to celebrate some of the good that lands in our inboxes ~ I wanted to share the oitline of what has to be, one of the best introductory messages ever sent/received here!!!

*note: The sender gave me permission to post this, and the content has been generalized, with specifics and identifiers removed.

The Gen Contents of a, "Gold Star" Message!

"Hello" was followed by:
A compliment.
A couple casual comments based on things they'd found relatable in my profile.
An agreement to a specific thought I'd shared in my profile.

"This is what I offer, but happy to accommodate whatever works best for you."

"We can meet for coffee/tea in a public place just to chat and get to know each other before cuddling. If we don't have a good vibe, we can shake hands and go our separate ways. I’m also game to just meet and start cuddling right away. Whatever you’re most comfortable with."

(1) "I present my ID when we meet so you know it’s really me. Feel free to take a picture of my ID and text it to a friend."

(2) "If I host, it will be in the ____ area, in a condo located ____." Gave specific landmarks/businesses and described the inside environment

(3) Provided their Covid related practices/preferences

(4) Shared preferred cuddle clothing and basic self care details

(5) Offered their general cuddling MO, including favorite positions, and to play the kind of music I'd like.

Closed with an offer to answer any questions I might have.

Needless to say, I messaged them back immediately!!!

As an, "Enthusiast of the Cuddle", I feel like this person knocked it out of the park!!! Additionally, their subsequent messages have been light, friendly and show they have a sense of humor.

Now I just need find a time that I'm not committed to being elsewhere, and when I'll be rested enough to be fully engaged (because passing out just minutes in, isn't my idea of being a good cuddle partner).

So? How about you? Have you received messages you felt really good about getting? Where maybe you thought,
"Wow! This person really gets it!"?

note: When posting please keep in mind:
actual screen shots of convos are discouraged

  • That dude is the god enthusiast!!! I’m down with everything stated except (take a pic of my id & text to a friend) but I do agree this is the epitome of ideal !!! He’s definitely better than me... glad you came across such gentleman : )

  • @introvme ~ Funny you say that about the ID ~ I loved that part!!!

  • @quixotic_life yes I admit that was very transparent & gentleman like of him, it doesn’t get any better than that, I myself have no problems showing my I.d.’s, infact I’ll show every single one of them ... just wouldn’t want a pic taken of them but he’s most definitely on a league of his own I recognize it.

Yeah he's got me beat lol I'm more than willing to show my I'd but having been a target of identity theft no way I let someone snap a picture, won't save me if the have a photographic memory but at that point I'm more impressed than anything lol

Then again with what the divorce did to my credit if they fond someone to give them a line it might actually HELP my score at this point lmao

  • [Deleted User]beingkind (deleted user)

is anybody got the request for cuddling ?

  • Huh... well... maybe part of it's obscured, like the dl#? IDK ~ I just like it for the 'yep, right name, right face, and oh sweet the address of where I'm at...'

And I liked all the other niceness too.

  • Could be he has one of those insta alert programs for if someone were to try running his info. My CC company offered a plan once that covered all sorts of fraud and I just laughed because my limit is so low and my identity isn't exciting enough to be coveted/stolen.

  • if they fond someone to give them a line it might actually HELP my score at this point lmao @NightShift39

Only you would say, think of this positive !!! 😅😂🤣😂

  • @beingkind ~ "is anybody got the request for cuddling ?"

Can you elaborate on what you're asking?

  • Bravo @quixotic_life this is a brilliant thread!

  • [Deleted User]PATSchick (deleted user)

    OMG!!! that Dude is👏🏾 The👏🏾MACK👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Hell no I haven’t received any introduction that thorough or thoughtful... I mean dayum I consider myself lucky if they inquire if Patschick is my real name (SPOILER ALERT: it’s not) not to mention there are so many Men that don’t fill out the profile but will send you a message to say ‘I’m available this weekend after 2 can we cuddle?’ No introduction, no mention of reading my profile nahhh just jumping in the deep end without a life jacket😳

What an AMAZING gentleman that guy is (sigh)

  • I’m ready for more good examples. Let’s see the positives please please please

I think that proves the difference between men and women and their safety needs- I would be very happy if someone showed me their ID and encouraged me to send a photo of it to a friend. If they have nothing to hide then I feel like that is a standard courtesy, to allow the woman to relax more and to feel safer.

More examples please!!! I keep scanning over my messages looking for something even close to this treasure and I am only finding... well, let’s never mind about that. I don’t have a message like this let’s just say.

More good messages please! This is wonderful. Any ladies willing to share. I look forward to seeing these.

  • Thanks for posting that 👍🏽I'll have to try out

  • Do we really not have any more positive messages in our DM‘s from the men here, ladies?

I mean, I get some nice messages. But they seem to be missing all of important components like flexibility, vulnerability, intention, willingness to make me feel safe, willingness to provide me with an ID or any other type of security measure that I may need, polite conversation, just acting friendly and like a normal human being.

But I still believe. Ladies, Tell me about the good guys!

  • @quixotic_life Thank you for sharing this! I'll have to try this out, with some slight modifications to the format.

For part 1) though, I would be happy to show them my ID, but not have them take a picture of it, Can't be too cautious with that kind of stuff these days.

  • This is really interesting, thanks @quixotic_life

I had always understood that it was a bad idea to mention cuddling in an introductory message. I'm sure that came from past threads/comments about guys appearing too enthusiastic to get down to cuddling before getting to know someone.

My intro messages tend to follow the start of your 'Gold Star' message:

    "Hello" was followed by:
    A compliment.
A couple casual comments based on things they'd found relatable in my profile.
An agreement to a specific thought I'd shared in my profile.

But they tend to stop there. I don't say too much about myself (I figure there's always the intro in my profile) or bring up cuddling straight away.

What do other enthusiasts think? Is it ok to bring up cuddling in an intro message?

  • @sjb1973 I'm also wondering this, I was under the impression it's not proper etiquette to bring up cuddling in the first message? Any enthusiasts please weigh in on this.

Interesting about not mentioning cuddles in an intro. I wonder if he felt free to do so based on my profile? It's got a lot to go from, but my own cuddling preferences are for sure towards the top of my content themes.

Perhaps the aversion is based on receiving cuddling preferences/details as the predominant part of the message, where as here he's folded it in with other details that create a more balanced overview of him as a relatable person?

    edit/addition ~ Oops, forgot to tag @sjb1973 and @sunnysideup

  • For me, the 1st impression starts at there profile pic's, I look very closely at them, what's in the back ground-?
I've seen some where they look like they just went thru a hurricane and some some looks like they been on a 2-3 day drunk spree or something., A few the room they were in looked to be in a real mess. I do read all of there profile and then try to read between the lines when chatting with them.
On the 1st. message sent, I learned to not ask for the same day cuddle, it seems to put up a red flag.

  • @quixotic_life
Bravo. That message was on point. Sure it wasn’t from a woman? 🙃
