How do you view cuddling?

edited January 2021 in General

We are all different types of people with different types of circumstances. However, we have come together and we all agree upon the fact that we like to snuggle up and get “squishy” in the terms of the great quixtic_life.

  • I view cuddling as something very affectionate, receiving love / care & affection & giving it back ... I don’t think There’s a better way to feel soo validated than through cuddles 🥰

  • Goodness, these polls are hard to make. It keeps uploading before I am done.

    So some more ideas:

I am single and I would like to find one person to cuddle and hopefully start a romantic relationship with them.

I am single and want to cuddle one person but I don’t want to become attached to them.

I am single and I like to cuddle as a free spirit.

I am single and I need emotional attachment out of my cuddling partners.

I am single and want a cuddling partner that can provide me with emotional support/text messages/phone calls at other times other than just when we are cuddling.

  • I might keep adding ideas...

Please feel free to add any ideas or put your cuddling ideas into your own words. You don’t have to take my silly poll. These are just ideas.

I'm happy with the option "I am single and I would like to find one person to cuddle." Normally I'd be more open to multiple cuddle partners, but hey, we're in a pandemic. I'd rather only join my bubble with one person who's as safe as I am.

Would you ladies get jealous if you found out your one cuddle partner is cuddling other people? (Assuming covid isn’t in the equation) @Importance / @squeakytoy / & anybody else

Nah, I cuddled people who were cuddling others in the past. I even cuddled with a couple for a while. That's not a big deal.

Just one cuddle buddy for me at a time. And I want to be their only. I need a true friend that has lots of time for me.

  • I don't view cuddling... I close my eyes.

But, same as @squeakytoy, with the addition that I'm in an open relationship with myself.

I know that sounds whack, but I'm finally learning not to put others first, who don't deserve it. That is, the oxygen masks drop, on a plane, you better put yours on first, or you can't help others.

  • I'm committed on paper and through property. They know about the cuddling and don't care, and I no longer care that they don't care. 🤷‍♀️

@introvme ~ "Would you ladies get jealous if you found out your one cuddle partner is cuddling other people?"

Seeing as how (on multiple occasions) I've encouraged my one [local] cuddle buddy to keep exploring his options, and I cheer wildly when he sees other people, I'm gonna have to say, "No, I don't get jealous."

Though I do see this as potentially resulting in less opportunities for us to have cuddle time, and that'll be a bummer, knowing someone I care about may be nurturing a connection that one day might pan out to be more than... It makes me really happy for him!

Also, now that I'm thinking about it... If I were jealous, I'd have to put a stop to things right away because one of our agreements is to keep things "Platonic", and that if one is, "catching feelings" to be honest about it and for us to take an intentional break.

To me, jealousy equals non'platonic feelings.

  • It’s so hard to sit at home alone every night. Being single is hard. It’s even harder when a married man wants to cuddle me and then go home to his wife. He gets the benefit of full-time companionship at home and cuddle time with me. I won’t do it. It hurts too much.

If I were in a relationship and that relationship allowed me to cuddle other men I would probably be very happy. But because of my perspective, it is so hard for me to see things from the perspective of someone who is married or in a committed relationship and has that security at home.

I really need a full-time friend more than anything.

  • @MaullySterling i completely understand you & you described it perfectly ... before, I used to put & depend my happiness on other people, meaning like my happiness would depend on them ... little by little I learned otherwise & I started doing what I want , & no not in a selfish way at all but in a way that I wouldn’t depend on others .... in recent times I started getting good with my best friend, & the way I am by nature has made me not seek out cuddles & just enjoy the thread , but if ever I feel otherwise than I’ll just go for it... again not in a selfish way but if I’m missing it for whatever reason than so be it, the ladies are complicated 😅 the more we want their attention the less they give it & the less we give it the more they want it (my perspective Ofcourse) I just hope everyone is happy

  • @quixotic_life i wish I knew how to do that, I be falling in love ♥️ 🌌 when I cuddle lol

  • @Importance : in normal circumstances I’d actually prefer

    • I am single and want to cuddle multiple people but I don’t want to become attached to them.

The reason being until this global situation transpired both parties likely would have had multiple social and personal outlets to express their personal needs. And being with one person could have conflicted with scheduling and impromptu plans. So having multiple trusted partners would cut down dependency on relying on a single partner.

In the present situation finding one cuddle partner in itself seems like a task due to safety protocols, Risk aversion and sheer lack of availability. But if I were to find just one steady partner (I think I have) for now who I connect with I’d be happy to take her up on it.

PS: I say “I think I have” because my schedule is wide open and hers is restricted due to commitments. So I tend to be open to meeting others for cuddles for my wider availability and every week of two she gets time for herself she shoots me a text to come over.

  • I'm single in all but the final signed paperwork, and while I would very much love to find a single long time cuddle mate the amount of cuddles I crave make that most unlikely though it HAS happened in the past. My last cuddle mate and I basically lived together on the weekends, and texted and/or chatted daily before life happened and she moved away. We still chat often and are still very close I'm happy to say. :)

@MaullySterling, heck yes! We need to take care of ourselves first. If I want to do good deeds, I'll donate to charity and volunteer. Cuddle martyrdom is just not an option anymore, lol.

  • Too many options to just choose one, so I'll make up my own!

I have multiple relationships of varying types (romantic, sexual, asexual). I don't hide my cuddling desire from anyone important to me, nor do I allow them to dictate how I run any of my other relationships. I invite their input, but I wouldn't be with anybody who told me it wasn't ok to pursue platonic cuddling relationships (of which I'd like to have some emotional intimacy and connection).

Got a category for that?? 🤣

  • Got a category for that?? - @xelda silly 😝 lol 😂

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

I see cuddling as a thing mostly done with friends and family (though you can supplement with hobos and strangers). Reducing your Friends and Family pool to just one person seems... well, I guess you'd need a lot of time with that one person.

  • @xelda I love your answer!

  • [Deleted User]verona (deleted user)

    I cuddle.

  • I'm single, so currently I enjoy meeting new people and cuddling different people. If I were in a relationship though, I feel like it would make things simpler if they were my one cuddle partner. Although I cuddle platonically with cuddle buddies, I think cuddling can often create a connection even between platonic cuddle partners. I feel like I form a friendship with a platonic cuddle partner, and like any friend, I feel good when I think about their friendship and the times we have, and I can sometimes miss their presence. I also feel like cuddling can be good to nurture the connection with a significant other, so if I'm in a relationship, I'd honestly feel a little weird about the idea of cuddling other people.

Also, as has been mentioned, meeting other people could cut down on the time spent with each cuddle buddy. I'd tend to prefer quality over quantity. I'd always be open to cuddling new people, but I think it's also good to have some quality consistent cuddle buddies.

One thing I've noticed that seems to be a bit ironic is that when meeting a new cuddle buddy, I've found that we can both be comfortable cuddling up quickly, but when meeting a new person for dating (with the potential for a long-term romantic relationship), we both could be nervous, and I don't want to risk making them feel weird by bringing up cuddling too soon.
