Neither, Rico Suave clearly takes this one to the bank!
Both groups were corporate shills posing as musicians to further modeling careers. My favorite boy band is Gorgoroth.
GERALDO RICO... SUAVE...
Pardon me, necessary clarification, please! Better at what?
At their crafts
None of the above.
I pretty much like anything that a 12-year-old girl would be into music wise. So yes to all the overproduced, marketed, auto tuned music. I know that my taste in music is rather unsophisticated. I guess you just like what you like.
@introvme: Right, right, but what craft in particular? Which thing that they all did are we supposed to be judging them by? The dancing? The singing? The modeling? The bringing in of money? What?
And what standard are we holding them up to, whereby we can say this one's better, closer to the ideal, than that one?
@introvme Ohhh @DarrenWalker I thought it was doing suave hand thingies, sorry!
@DarrenWalker music πΆ π
@introvme: Which aspect of music? Are we comparing their ability to hit the notes, or the tone and timbre of their voices? (Unless both these groups wrote their own music, of course, the key and composition of any of their songs doesn't enter into it: just their performance.)
ahem... "Autotune"
You got wayyyy too technical Darren lol but I guess youβre right, there are artist who I know could sing better than others but than I would like others better because of the concept of their music ect ... I guess if you were to answer the question you can can choose one of the things you point out or everything.
I picked *NSYNC because I like the Bye Bye Bye song
I very much "disliked" to put it mildly, both of those "groups". When I was in art class the teacher used to play that stuff on repeat and I felt like I was drawing on the walls of Gitmo!
Yup @Importance Nsync has Bye Bye Bye / & Its tearing up my heart
@introvme: "Better" is a very vague term, see.
First you've got to know what, exactly, you're judging (appearance? income? vocal tone? ability to stay on key?) and then you need a standard by which the thing you're judging can be judged. Is it "better" to wear pink or blue? To bring in dollars or euros? To have a raspy voice or a smooth one? To hit the notes or to miss them?
Once you know what you're judging and what standard you're judging it byβthen you can say which is better.
Not till then, though. Until you know what you're judging and where "better" and "worse" are relative to that thing, you're just making assumptions... which is a thing I try to avoid.

Ok perfect, their ability to hit the notes : )
@introvme: All right! So now we know what we're judging. Next we need a standardβwhat's the ideal? Hitting the notes, full stop? Or hitting the notes unassisted by technology and/or training?
Hahhaa π π
I don't like either group so the magical deciding coin says back street boys wins
They were pretty much the same if you ask me. They had the same manager to start out with who had pretty much the same formula for every boy band he created out of thin air. I was not really a fan of either though I was familiar with some of their songs because during their height you could not get away from their music on the pop and variety stations.
@NightShift39 apparently the mods didnβt either & a whole thread got taken down lol π
I was partial to Savage Garden as a teenager. It's still my guilty pleasure
@Invisible_Touch everything you said 100% true!! Also did you see what the manager ended up doing which the whole scam & all ??? Crazy times!
I will KTBSPA until the day I die π
Awesome π and creative forum post! πΆ I want it that way and bye bye bye lol ππ€£
Backstreet Boys or *NSYNC They are both Garbage
@hawker69 No, Shirley Manson is Garbage and she rocks.
Ha Ha . Good one @FunCartel
