  • I don’t fall in love but I do feel feelings of fondness and familiarity. Not romantic love but certainly platonic fondness.

Really, I love being loving, I love being loved on, and I love being loved! But I don't love the idea of someone being in love with me.

Actually, I don't know if I even know what, "in love" means. And it's not like I'm vehemently opposed to finding out, but if someone ever said to me, "I'm in love with you." I'd be stunned because I just can't see it ever happening. IDK why that is, but it is what it is.

I feel sad reading that. Do you feel like you're not worthy of love? You're a good person and you certainly are worthy of being loved, if that's what you want to find.

  • From my perspective I feel everyone has their own unique individual perspective as to "what" love is and how they define love.

For example I have a dear friend who tells everyone that she loves them. She's a sweetheart. When she goes to the store she'll tell the cashier that she loves them. Whenever she gets off the phone with someone she tells that person she loves them. She'll tell her partner she loves him. However she sometimes ends up in some rather creepy situations because she tells everyone she loves them. Their definition of love may be drastically different from hers. Does the word lose meaning when it's used that often?

When referring to the phrase "falling" in love I personally don't like that phrase. Why should we fall? To me it denotes a "lower state of being" when instead I personally look at it in terms of "ascending in love, or unifying in love".

@LovenLight I think we just need more words that mean love. I love my dog. I love my parents. I love the man that is holding me in his arms. I love the cashier. I love the soldier who fought for me. I love Steph Curry the basketball player because I think he is so talented and so adorable with his personality.

But none of these are the same types of love!

I still love my ex-husband even though we were on different paths and we needed to go our own ways. I love my neighbors. I love newborn babies. I think you get it and this is exactly what you were saying—And what @littermate said.

We just need more words that mean love so that we can accurately describe what we are feeling towards the person or thing standing in front of us. I love my big soft fluffy bed too. Now I can’t stop thinking about all the things I love. I could go on for days and days and days about music and artists and books and TV shows. But I hope that I have already made my point clear.

I would love to use the word “squishy” to describe the type of love that I feel when I am in the arms of a cuddle partner. I just feel happy and squishy towards them. This term was introduced to me by @quixotic_life and I don’t think that she means love when she uses it. But I would like to start using it that way.

@Lovelight And I completely understand what you mean when you say that it makes things creepy. I have definitely creeped people out by telling them that I love them and vice versa. Sometimes I think people just say it way too soon in romantic situations. So I try not to say it however I feel those serotonin and oxytocin hormones that make me feel like I’m in love.

This reminds me of a funny meme that I am going to post here. Please note that it is a joke and I understand that Cuddle comfort is a completely platonic site. Still funny though. And once again I would like to direct you all to my attorney for any further inquiries on my silly behavior. She only takes questions in written form. Please be advised that she is cantankerous just like me.

Also check out my profile to find the link to my OnlyFans page. See, this is a perfect example of creepy. You’re all very welcome.

  • "Growing in love" is my personal favorite. It describes compassionate love, which starts off small, but grows over time and tends to last.

It's possible that I may form an attachment to someone if we've had repeated encounters, but I wouldn't say I fall in love when I cuddle, no.

  • I can understand "squishy" though 😊 To have a squish on someone is to desire a friendship with them.

So I would think of squishy as inspiring feelings of affection, like in a platonic or even queerplatonic sort of way.

Where as "falling in love" tends to imply romance.

  • I definitely love my bed 🛌 ♥️

  • @EarthlyAngel003 ~ I love, "Growing in Love"!!! 💗
