Ha! Made the title up as if it were a movie post, but is it really?

With great love and respect, I am curious about how this CuddleComfort place trains people to become "professional cuddlers"

Are workshops that are placed to learn techniques?
How long is the training?
Does one become certified as such by completing courses and hours worked?

The amount of people becoming Professionals is quite great. I see folks coming in by the moment.

    @CuddleMeLater :-P I know! Silly question. I have a friend who is one actually and she had to go through training and a ton of background checks before we became a Pro.

    There’s no training or certification here.

    Which has its drawbacks, but also has some benefits.

    @Mike403 she may be many of our professional cuddlers are also on other sites that do indeed have training,at least this is what I've gathered from reading through forum posts.

    The only thing you need to become a pro here is a willingness to pay the site fee which is ill advised if you're guy because you'll likely just waste money on the fee and not get any clients.

    The extremely low barrier to entry means many pros here aren’t that great. Some are scam artists or thieves; many just aren’t particularly interested in doing a good job of cuddling.

    But the upside is that there are way more pros here than on other sites. And enough of them actually are good that this is still the best site.

    @Invisible_Touch There have been so many posts talking about high prices of pros. Have you really not seen them?

    It means either that she doesn’t understand how to run a business, or she doesn’t care if she hardly has any clients, or possibly that she’s doing something sneaky like actually being an escort - pros with very high prices seem to get banned more frequently than others.

    Just because somebody is charging a high rate does not always mean they are doing something shady. We are in the middle of a pandemic and some of them may be taking risks into consideration.

    There are really good people here (Pros) that are amazing souls! I know so.

    My concern is, if this is so "easy" to just apply online, get little or nothing in training, then anyone can apply and be a Pro. Like someone mentioned in this group, there are some making a LOT of money here. It's loophole that any "rat" can enter and take advance of this "faulty" system. It's more of an awareness to all. Being a Pro here does not mean that and if the person is shady, that makes it worse.

    The bad pros likely don't get booked again. They eventually weed themselves out.

    It is like a professional driver who wants to teach how to drive a fast car, yet he/she just got zero training . Professional Drivers that teach can make upwards to $200 an hour. Imagine how they would feel if anyone can just click online and become one.

    It's also like a Professional Therapist (like I have one). That lady has gone group years of schooling and training. She is very good at being a communicator and is a Pro at her job. She makes at least $180 on hour and rightfully so. She has earned that salary :) If I'd tell her that this site offers a similar wage as hers, but not a Pro at all.

    Last I checked, there wasn't a law where you had to be licensed in order to hug somebody. Cuddlers aren't teaching anything and they aren't therapists.

    Your therapist is not going into strangers homes, performing an intimate service such as cuddling.
    She's not putting her health and safety at risk.
    She performs her job via video chat or in an office setting. Not in a bedroom, hotel or strangers living space with a complete stranger.
    You're comparing apples and oranges here.

    For you to suggest we ( pros ) don't deserve to charge because we didn't complete a seminar is ridiculous. 🙄

    Don't like that majority of the pros here are uncertified and/or didn't go through a training class? Don't hire them. There's quite a few here who have and make it known in their bios.

    Being a Pro here does not mean that and if the person is shady, that makes it worse.

    I guarantee you us ladies have WAY more to lose or risk by meeting men with intentions other than cuddling.
    A pro who steals or is "shady" are the minority here where men who want to cross boundaries and treat us like lowkey escorts is a constant issue / threat.

    A better (though not perfect) comparison would be a massage therapist. Although they charge less and require training and licensing. But I think it would be great to have standards for cuddlers to tag themselves as "pro". I think if general society is going to see professional cuddling as mainstream and acceptable, there should be some sort of certification. I also think pricing would be more regulated.

    I could see the benefits of certification or licensing in my own industry, and I wish it were required. But because it is not, anyone with a paintbrush can call themselves a professional painter. There are too few ways to weed out the good from the bad until after the job is complete. As a result, the market is flooded with poor quality, low-balling painters who promote the stigma of "all contractors are unreliable, unpredictable, and over priced for the low quality you get."

    Regulation would mean higher quality across the board, fewer competitors, and better pay. Isn't that what every small business owner wants?

    @Envie You can definitely have a licensed massage therapist come to your home for about 100/hr. Just search in-home massage. Also therapists regularly deal with and actively seek out those who have potentially dangerous mental health conditions, like anger.

    None of this matters anyway because at the end of the day people don't work to "get what they deserve" they work to "get the most they can". Even if you like your job. Any business that doesn't try to make a profit will fail. So, if you're making a profit, who cares? Supply and demand.
