Life is short 🌌 !! it is not just a saying / it is not something we hear, it is the honest truth ..

1 minute we’re 5 years old the next minute we’re 25/ 50 & so on .... what is 1 thing or advice you would tell your child self / your teenage high school self / ect ...

Comments

  • Get the vasectomy, don't move to Buffalo til January, take the job in Alaska.

  • Use your head while you still can/Concur school and get a degree before going off to live your life...

    Don't let others, or your circumstances, define you...

    Treat yourself as you would those you love and be open to being loved by others...

  • Love yourself. Everything else will flow from that

  • Be the love that you are.

  • I actually think that life isn't at all short. If we're lucky enough to live for 70 or 80 years, that's a huge amount of time to try things, change routes, make mistakes and find things that fulfil you.

    As for advice, I'm going to steal these 2 lines from Kurt Vonnegut:

    I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, "If this isn't nice, I don't know what is".

    There's only one rule that I know of, babies – God damn it, you've got to be kind.

    I'd also tell my teenage self to try to care a bit less about what other people think.

    To myself: Don't let people steer you outside of your own goals and aspirations. Nobody has your best interest at heart but you.

  • Yes, I think it is. I have seen in my family & friends were the only thing they do is WORK-WORK-WORK, then as they getup in there years and then start thinking about things they want to do, like travel maybe take up a hobby, but there health will not let them. I think one needs to try to enjoy life more, travel, go to see family and friends. One day you wake up and find that times has passed you by and your family & friends are no longer here.

  • @LyleLuvsHuggles lol

    @Plato33 !

    @MrPaul i really love your response

    @sjb1973 that is, until you’re actually lucky enough & get to 70/80 & think, where did all the time go, it went just like that

    @waynewv 100!

  • @introvme OK unfortunate conjunction of words!

  • @Plato33 by “!” I meant I totally agree : )

  • @introvme and there was I thinking you had a dirty mind!!

    lol for purpose of understanding, I had to explain what I meant by “!”

  • One can simultaneously have a mind, body, thoughts, emotions, feelings, and both be and not be any of those things.

  • I never expected to feel so old when I'm still so young.

    So I might tell younger me to have a little more fun. Spend time at the beach. Go hiking. Say yes to more opportunities as they present themself. Spend less time at home, push back a bit more, be less obedient.

    Most importantly, have more confidence in yourself, there's nothing wrong with you. Someday you'll find your people and it'll all make sense.

    "It doesn't get better."

    Get emancipated.

  • @EarthlyAngel003 everything you said 💯 !

  • Take more of a chance, and jump on (seemingly) good opportunities that present themselves more often. Make things happen more often; don't always wait for things to happen to you or to come to you. Reach out to people more, rather than waiting for them to reach out to you.

  • Life is definitely too short. This statement is all too poignant for me at the moment. 🥺 I think I would tell myself (or rather ask myself) what I want my legacy to be. What can I contribute to and build that is bigger than myself? For when I am gone, the good that I do today will be gone with me, but the good I do for others and the future will live on.

  • @valkyrievixen , very well said!!!! I have had the same thoughts.

  • Life isn't particularly short, but the older you get the shorter it gets.

  • Life is short, don’t miss it.

    I think I would warn myself about forming habits. Actions in the form of a sapling are easier to remove than habits in the form of a full grown tree!
