What is your dream tattoo?

  • I really want a large realistic Venom tattoo on my right thigh

  • I'd love a bunch of flowers all over my back ❤

  • I'd love a long brightly colored asian styled dragon wrapping around my left arm from wrist to shoulder blade...my second choice would be a picture of sherman helmsley standing with his arms crossed, looking irritated, staring directly straight , with a funny saying coming from his mouth.

A black cat with fairy wings asleep under a mushroom with a ladybug on top. On my leg.

I'd like a target on my lower back, where I want pointed pressure applied to. It always hurts in the exact same spot but takes too long for most to find when it's really flared and is made worse if they're not pressing directly on it.

I also think a dot to dot, or something someone could color in would be kind of fun too. But maybe a 'paint by number', maze or sudoku puzzle could work too...?

IDK ~ But the utilitarian side of me wants whatever I get to have an interactive quality to it, beyond conversation.

edit ~ Hooray for this thread ~ Thanks @aurora_cuddler & @CuddleDuncan!!! I'm going to try designing a quill pen one for myself (see later post), because other than potentially having a red button instead of a target (because, "What's this red button do?" is hella funny to me), I'd rather it be something related to my life (like calligraphy), and it could be a dot to dot color in too!! Yay ~ Fun!
    🪶🤗

I had the exact same idea! Although not a target, I was going to make it the eye of an eagle or something. "Press on the eye .... now the eyebrow ... that's it!"

    @CuddleDuncan ~ lol! 👉👉👁🦅 ~ [poke-poke]

If on mine that would be a really odd choice for that spot, but maybe two arrows adorned with feathers, placed on either side pointing toward it would work....

Oooh.... or maybe a quill pen with a fancy X marks the spot sort of thing...

    whoops ~ no edit

  • Its like putting a Disneyland in the Grand Canyon. While Disneyland can be a spectacular visual display it cannot compare to natural beauty.I've seen some rather gorgeous tattoos so its understandable that people would desire them.My preference would be our free gift from nature.

  • I'd probably go for something celtic in design, Thor's Hammer, for instance. My problem is I'm adverse to pain.

I wanna get something like this

  • News Flash People! Nobody likes your tattoo! Everyone pretends to like them to be polite, or because they think everyone else thinks they're cool so they want to appear cool too, or say they like yours because it's a conversation starter, you know, like a coffee table book. Nature made women perfect. That dude at the tattoo parlor who injects ink into your beautiful skin is the equivalent of some other dude tagging a Monet. They are ugly and they're going to get even uglier as you grow older. You are a work of art, do not let some skanky dude tag you! This is not my humble opinion, this is an obvious truth! Please see next week's post for my next revelation of great wisdom. I will visit the bizarre popularity of cigars among male college students. Hint: Nobody like them either, they're just smoking them because they think everyone else likes them. This is why humans behave stupidly in groups. DISCLAIMER: No offense.

  • @JohnfromVienna alot of what you said is true but not always .... I feel the same about hard liquor 🥃 like how do people like that stuff, no it doesn’t taste good / no it doesn’t quenches your thirst & the list goes on (I’m a beer 🍻 drinker) but than I know many who genuinely don’t like the taste of beer ... & I know some who genuinely like hard liquor , I don’t understand why lol 😂 but they do ... but yes I see your point

    @JohnfromVienna: Actually.

I don't have tattoos, and if I got one it'd probably be my name, blood type, any allergies... something practical. But, that said, I do like other people's tattoos. I think they're fascinating.

(I especially like white tattoos on light skin and black tattoos on dark skin. That, I think, looks awesome.)

So your sweeping statement about who likes what is wrong. No offense.

  • This, across the front of my torso

  • cuddles_ndream Of course, I know there are some people who actually do. Much of that is driven by the fact that they always get a teeny rush from receiving compliments, genuine or not. Human beings do so many pointless and, often, harmful things because of this phenomenon . Sometimes it just takes one person to say the "emperor has not clothes." We need to do that more often!

  • JohnfromVienna that too (@ compliments) but again not always the case ... is it possible that you really really really do not like tattoos & you’re projecting or assuming nobody else really does? At the same time I feel that 90% of social media like Instagram & now tik tok is for attention so I don’t want to be hypocritical in my own mind about someone else’s thoughts on another matter.

I just went down a rabbit hole of the sweetest couple's tattoos... and although I didn't see it, if I were to do something like that with someone, I'd be hoping they'd be into getting the crows from, "The Secret of NIMH", on our forearms. Jeremy Crow (on me) and Miss Right (on them) and when we held hands, the strings would line up and link them/us together...

The simplicity of this image (just the birds and string) is beautiful to me... even without the movie/character reference.

But they are ridiculously cute and I love how all over the place they are ~ both individually and as a couple!!

Plus, "Oooh... A sparkly!" is a line I've always identified with and he's the only character I've ever dressed as (as an adult) for halloween. So who knows... Maybe one day I'll meet my Jeremy and he'll think I'm his Miss Right... and well go get permanently inked with cuteness together!

    edit: oops~typo

  • cuddles_ndream Yes, I agree that social media is very similar in both the likes and the meanness (the meanness is often to signal one's virtue to one's ingroup). Yes, of course, it is possible that I'm projecting. I don't think I am. I often hang out at a hot spring near Vegas so I see a lot of naked people. Everyone always says, I love your tattoo as a conversation starter. Those same people will often say later, if the topic comes up, that they don't actually like tattoos. It is that social thing with little beneath it. (some people do actually like things only because they think other people like it) If you image search google for tattoos and compare them to other works of art, it isn't even close. There is so much amazing art out there, it's just very rare one is a tattoo. How many great artists are there? and how many use skin at their medium? Virtually none. It's one of those things people do for social reasons. Sometimes it is to send a signal about who they are or it's just because they like the attention. No one ever got better looking because of a tattoo. To be clear, I am talking about the large majority of people. There is little, if anything, you can say is universal about opinions when it comes to human beings.

  • Lol ~ @Dean8314 Those are two VERY different ideas!!

  • My next will be the Catbus from Totoro as a memorial piece.
Eventually I want to get Coyote and Raven on my shoulder blades with the Shadowed way between them wouldn't mind the clan that from my Highland born grandmothers family either but a neck piece doesn't go with some of my jobs so that's a later if ever thing....

An anime-esque rendition of the Virgin Mary with an ahegao expression.

This question is difficult for me to properly answer, as all of the ideas for tattoos that I've had over the years are very graphic.

  • D N R

    ( do not resuscitate)

That can be inked on a teminally ill persons chest . Imagine being brought back from cardiac arrest then suffering from the cancer they have .

  • For my horror themed leg sleeves I'm planning a trip overseas to have this incredibly talented artist do the work. His use of pastels are 😗👌

  • That’s hot! You genuinely resemble the classic pin-up models from the 40’s/50’s/60’s ...you should really consider modeling 🔥

  • @Envie ~ That is soooo freaking beautiful!! I've never seen one like that! Hope you have a great trip!! (and maybe post some pics after) 😉
