Picking favorites is difficult, because what I like most tends to change depending on what I feel most like watching at the moment.
Right now I'd like to watch PsychoPass again. Blood and gore plus questions about philosophy and morality, all set in a high-tech future society that may or may not be ideal... it's not just fun, it's absorbing and thought-provoking. I dunno. It's cool.
And the character that drew me to this anime is, of course, Makishima Shougo.

You can't ask an OTA-kul as old as I am that question fairly, do you have any idea HOW MANY I've seen? Hell grandpa spent most of his life in Asia in the service came home and got satellite so he could keep watching Asian TV, I was watching it before I even knew what it was dammit lol but ummm Galaxy Express 999 will always hold a special place in my heart and Totoro has been shared with all my spawnlings...

Berserk: The Golden Age Arc is probably my favorite anime series. I enjoy dark fantasy, and the world of Berserk is extremely grim and unpleasant. It's lovely.

I agree with @BuggleBear. Anything Studio Ghibli. The stories, the artistry, the strong female characters, the music... It's all just so good.
I really liked cells at work on Netflix. I learned a lot from it and it was fun.
Pokemon. I've been into it most of my life.

If anyone is looking for a good thriller anime to watch, take a look at Deadman Wonderland, there's only one season of it but it's absolutely amazing. I'm not really an anime person but everyone needs to watch that anime 😍
