In milwaukee. 28. Lonely. Depressed.

I just feel like I'm never going to meet someone. I've been gaining a lot of weight lately. Not sure what from. Maybe age. Slowing metabolism. Not sure... But I feel terrible about how I look. Especially with my shirt off. I feel like my appearance is just as unattractive as my shy personality. So now I have nothing. Not even physical appeal. Sigh.... My situation isn't great. I just feel like I'm never going to get out of this hole. I feel scared for myself. I wish I could just be helped one last time to get my life together but I'm on my own and morale is low :'c it hurts to see my family going through the same feelings I have. I wish I could make it better for everyone. But I can't even make it better for myself.. Idk where I'm going with this.... I just feel sad and alone....

  • @skinnybuttcomfy have thought of seeking a life coach or a medical doctor to assist you with your depression? You’re 28 years old and in the prime of your life!

@skinnybuttcomfy A lot of people feel that way, but fortunately for you no one is going to judge your weight or appearance for cuddles. Are you looking for an enthusiast or a pro? There will be plenty of people that can give you advice. I also hope you are seeking some form of professional help for how you are feeling as well.

Honestly a life couch doesn't sound like a bad idea at this point. I feel like right now I need people around me that are going to raise me up out of this depression but I'm surrounded by very sad lost people. And we all dwell in the underworld it feels like. We're all sad and unhappy. And I try to be a happy person for them but they're a very unhappy group that I feel like it saps my energy. Idk. But leaving them to go somewhere else just feels too awful. They're my family. So I'm probably going to end up in a bad spot not cutting out the negativity.

Sorry I feel like I came to the wrong place for all this. I need therapy or something... Lol...
Just sort of hit my limit and needed to let some of this out... My apologies.

  • @skinnybuttcomfy No, if you work at it it can get better. You need to reach out for professional help. Start with your county or city health department. They can point you in the right direction.

@skinnybuttcomfy , that's rough and I'm sorry things suck right now. Only asking this theoretically: what would happen if you were to leave these sad, lost people? Do they depend on you financially? Does your current situation have an end in sight, or is it indefinite? Also, is there any reason they don't want to leave the place you're all in?

@skinnybuttcomfy You got to do what you gotta do. No one truly cares about your best interest, unless you're blessed with a good family, or if you're really lucky, a few loyal friends. If they care about you, and you need to make some changes to your life that are separate from their interests, they should support you in that.

I don't really know you, but I feel like I've sort of been in the position you're describing (body image issues, the whole 9 yards etc). I once felt like I was in a dark place with no known way out. I recommend going to a professional therapist, there is only so much we can do from the interwebs.

Why are people replying to this thread with just single full stops?

  • @BuggleBear Someone made an inappropriate joke and I called him out. He did the right thing and removed it so I removed my comments.

  • @BuggleBear - mods or the users edited comments. 99% of the time I will note/attribute that I've done so. In the case here, there were several reports/flags. Always a good thing for users to self-edit before they get edited. Just sayin'.

  • Thank you for that, @FunCartel .
