Very uncomfortable experience.

So I just had a very uncomfortable experience video chatting with someone who I met on this website. When I called this individual I heard the sound of a couple of guys talking to each other. So I hung up. And they kept calling me.
After about the third time I finally said, either either reveal yourself on camera or I am hanging up. And I wound up getting ignored.

Comments

  • So to be clear . You heard voices in the background while talking to someone so hung up, demanded the person reveal themself and are bothered that you are now being ignored ?

  • I said hello a couple of times. And the person did not respond.

  • It's not unusual for other people to be around during a video call.

  • Connectivity issues? Background noises and voices are pretty common

  • @Andy1996 could you see anyone? Like the person you were supposed to be chatting with?

  • @Andy1996 I would have felt uncomfortable, as well. Trust your radar. Unfortunately, this website isn't immune to creeps and freaks.

  • @Andy1996 that was pretty rude of them to schedule a call and not be in a dedicated space to meet or at least inform you that it is a busy time with no other option. But he could have used headphones to talk with you to minimize the noise a little. Sorry you had that experience. @markbphx is right though. Trust your radar. He probably wouldn't have been a mindful cuddle.

  • It was actually a woman.

  • @Melancholy your comment is just amazing. If you had an online appointment with one woman you’d expect to have multiple people in the background and some of them would be men? I so fascinated by you.

This was a waste of 1 minute

Quick educational moment, @Chingoes - if you don't like a thread, move on. If you don't like a comment, move on. If you take the time to respond to a comment or post you don't like (your example above) and someone reports it, then I get involved and I have to review and respond - like I am now. Standard internet rules: if you can't say something nice, try silence. Move on. [-Sid]

@Chingoes I've never seen you post before, so can only assume you are new or don't post much. Do you really want your first post to be something negative and spiteful that aims to tear another user down?

You're clearly just sitting here scrolling through the forum, so I doubt this thread took you away from vital scientific research or anything else more worthwhile. If you lose a minute, so what? Shrug it off and move on with your day.

Your comment was pointless and hurtful.

So, why go cows wear bells?

    Because their horns don't work.

  • [Deleted User]DeadGirlWalking (deleted user)

Very good, @Mmart but perhaps better posted on the cow thread 😊

We don't want to derail the OP's thread any more than it already has been x

  • @Melancholy Absolutely not nobody should be in that Room during a session whether it's virtual or physical. They deserve the respect and the attention that there asking for that's just ludicrous. @Andy1996 That's a terrible experience am so sorry to hear that you've had that happen. Maybe there is a good explanation but if It keeps happening then I think you should void the session altogether. Best of luck to you I hope things work out better the next time.

  • @ElleCuddleMi Ok. That is what I was thinking. If you were in person I would hope no one would be talking and walking back and forth. Same goes for virtual sessions.

  • So from the post itself I'm curious why people assume it's supposed to be a private virtual cuddle session.
All he said was he video chatted with someone.
I video chat sometimes on zoom etc and there's always people walking past.

  • [Deleted User]Mmart (deleted user)

@BuggleBear You're correct. Thanks for the gentle reprimand.

  • A video chat doesn't necessarily mean a virtual session with a pro , lots of conclusions being drawn

  • @Andy1996 That may have been a bad connection or maybe these people were not respecting your trust. If it's the latter, don't worry too much. You'll find good people here. I would certainly expect that if it was a technical issue that they would communicate about it. If you feel they were messing with you somehow, just moved on. There are so many people here who are willing to create a nurturing space the right way. Don't let it throw you.

  • did you pay this person for this call? if so and they scammed you I would "out" them so no one else gets duped.

  • [Deleted User]Mmart (deleted user)

This does seem to be a little odd but also I don't see it as that unusual in the online/ virtual world. Many weirder things have occured.
    @Andy1996 Sorry for your experience.

Sounds like 2 guys catfished him. Always meet in public first.

If there was no foul play, why did they not leave a message when they called? Phone had a bad connection? I doubt it.

Dating sites are even scarier because more people can spot you and lure you to danger. I almost did not make a profile here.

@spuds you do absolutely nothing to contribute to anything on this site, go away!

Most people on this site make themselves much more vulnerable to others than they normally would. Knowing that there may be people who would take advantage of this in any community is a pretty valid concern.

Anyone who ends contact with someone they don't feel comfortable with in the same way you did this is always doing the right thing in my eyes

  • Most of my virtual sessions that I had had been wonderful.

  • Maybe the people you heard was just a TV on in the background.

  • A video virtual session is what it is...a video virtual session. Meaning there will be two people on video. End of story. Those who can't comply with that then don't bother with them. If someone actually is at home with me I tell them to keep it down and not to bother me for this long while I work from home and then I go to another room...lock the door and get earphones.
