Some movie endings bring a tear to my eye. I just watched Mercury Rising, where Bruce Willis saves an autistic boy. After everything is resolved and the boy is settling into his new life, Bruce comes to visit and says, "I was told not to expect too much. He probably doesn't even remember me." But after he says "look at me" the boy does remember, and gives him a hug.

    Animals being wholesome and adorable. Especially dogs. Humans absolutely do not deserve dogs.

    My mother died a few years ago. In Avengers; Endgame (I feel so silly about this) I was so touched when Thor runs into his mother when he’s time traveling and gets to talk to her about how he feels like he’s a failure. She gives him advice that almost gave me a nervous breakdown crying about how moving that was.

    The scene from The Lord of the Rings where Sam wades out into the water to reach Frodo, nearly drowns, and is then lifted by Frodo into his boat. Makes me cry without fail. The same bit from the book doesn't hit quit as hard, though.

    Also: "The Best Is Yet To Come", by Aoife Ní Fhearraigh. I first heard it on the Metal Gear Solid soundtrack as a kid and thought it was pretty, but as I got older, it began to affect me on a rather deep level. It conjures up thoughts that I don't often dwell upon.

    Hmm. Okay, there was this one thing that touched me a lot. You know how I'm the oldest of ten? So I've watched a lot of kid's movies.

    That scene in Frozen 2 where we finally get to the bottom of the whole "show yourself" thing—I legit teared up, and I'm not even the weepy type. One of my younger siblings leaned over and was like, "Are you crying?"

    "Shut up," I said, embarrassed, wiping at my eyes; only to hear a flustered "no!" from my other side.

    I looked over to see my married sister crying, too (and more visibly than me). The little gremlin who'd started all this looked startled. Hadn't even realized I was happy-crying too, apparently—just meant to tease our sister for being so invested in a kid's movie.

    There’s a movie I saw, but can’t remember its name. The scene is near the end of the story. A man has traveled all the way to the UK to find a woman he met in the States. They hit it off one weekend, but then she fled back to her native land because she feared she was falling in love with him. She’d “isolated her heart” years earlier when her fiancee abandoned her at the altar. The man travels all over the British Isle to find this lovely lass and “plead his case.” He travels from one coastal town to the next, but keeps missing her. After nearly a week, he comes to the realization that he may just not have been meant to find her. He stops in a pub for one final pint before heading home, “empty hearted.” Just as he is leaving the pub, he cuts through a side room, and there is the woman he’s been seeking. She is sitting at a table, holding hands with the fiancee who abandoned her at the altar years earlier. He makes eye contact with her, she realizes that he’s come to find her, and that he is not the kind of person who would ever break her heart. The man realizes he’s too late, give her a resigned “good luck” expression, then walks out of the pub.

    I was profoundly touched by the documentary Joshua. I had a full on breakdown because it really validated something in me I had been struggling to validate. Even more, I've mentioned how meaningful it was in a different forum and a Hong Konger there was deeply grateful to hear of others around the world hearing their story.

    I'm going to share a conversation I had today with my friend @Sideon earlier today because It makes me thankful for my mother being open and accepting, and also thankful that my son feels comfortable to be his true self and be happy in his skin

    I had a lovely conversation with my mother yesterday about labels etc. Matthew has had 2 serious relationships with trans men and she said I used to refer to them by their born gender but now I dont give a shit and just refer to them by what they go by . Love is love and nothing else matters . She totally gets it and is 72 and in freaking Alabama ! She told me yesterday she was talking to my aunt and referred to Matthews boyfriend . She said I thought Orion was a girl ? Mom explained he is trans. Then she sighed with such relief she almost was in tears because her oldest granddaughter has come out as trans and bisexual. She said thank god I finally have someone I can talk to about this !
