@pmvines Actually, no, pandas are not bears. They're just as un-bear-y as koalas are. They're actually in the raccoon family.
@HugAnEwok There was a long-standing debate on about whether pandas were more like bears or raccoons, but eventually, giant pandas did get classified as being true bears (as far as I've read).
Red pandas are apparently not classified as either bears or raccoons. They're the only members of their own family

@squeakytoy Really? I never heard that. I find that surprising, considering that pandas are herbivores, unlike most bears.

Those endearingly plump cheeks mask a set of hazardous jaws, making the slow loris the world's only venomous primate. The slow loris actually secretes venom in a gland in its elbow, which it then sucks into its mouth and mixes with saliva to transmit through its bite. The venom is potent enough to induce anaphylactic shock—so it's definitely best to keep your distance.

I am going to petition to have koalas removed from the list. I cuddled a koala in Australia. Its claws were massive, but the injuries I sustained were purely accidental. Only 30 stitches and a round of heavy antibiotics, and I was fine! 😉 😜
