Anyone here because they are experiencing a heartbreak?
No, but it most certainly has helped. Beats rebounding too.
Me I'm
I am not right now, but I discovered platonic cuddling during a breakup and my cuddle buddy was also going through a breakup. We would just cry, analyze everything on a microscopic scale, eat macaroni, watch tv and cuddle. It was the best possible thing I could have done to take care of myself.
I need that right now!
Im sorry to those that are 😞 it's so painful.
Yes
Just getting over it.
Sort of.
Its the worst feeling. Im absolutely crushed and so confused. A cuddle would be amazing.
I describe my current feelings as “trudging along.” Maybe a better word is “melancholy?”
I'm here because the damn bars and clubs are closed. As soon as they open back up, I'm back on the prowl
Not me but those who are hang in there.
Well, similar stuff I guess.
This may not be what anybody on this thread wants to hear, but I just want to point out that anything, including cuddling, that is.used to fill an emotional.void will not fix the problem . It is a bandaid . A surrogate for something else that you feel you are missing and dont have access to. I hope your heart heals and you are able to move forward, just please realize this is not a solution to any kind of long term mental health issues.
I know that @pmvines. A good cuddle will definitely feel good for the soul so why not? It can be used in conjunction with healing the heart.
25 years of heartbreak, yes.
@Rachelina I agree with you and yes it helps. Just wont fix the root issue . It is symptom management, not curative. A lot of people put way more stock in cuddling than they should, and then wonder why they still have issues. Or worse , become crushed beyond comprehension when they can't find a cuddle friend, or the cuddling ends up not being what they were hoping it to be
I am.
Husband of 23 years suddenly filed for divorce a week after I trained the two people who replaced me as his caregiver. I was supposed to have the time to heal mentally and physically after 8 years of fighting for his SSDI, but apparently it might take me "too long, even years". And I supposedly don't deserve any spousal support.
Some people I have met on this site have literally saved my life through their compassion and cuddles. At the very least they have saved my heart and sanity.
@pmvines I agree that mental issues cannot be fixed through only cuddles. That is why I'm also in about 12 hours of private and group therapy each week. But I wouldn't be as far along without the support of those I've found here.
@ChefKate support from friends def goes a long way ! I'm glad that you are getting the help you need 🤗
@ChefKate I'm so sorry you are going through that. I'm glad you have support system as well as therapy. I began therapy and have definitely looked to friends for support. Good luck on your healing journey.
@pmvines and @Rachelina thank you!
Cuddles with good conversation and support does help soothe the heart. Especially with everyone so isolated these days every bit makes a difference. @Rachelina and @ChefKate hope you find comfort in cuddles and friends and this tough fork in life be an opening for better more beautiful things to come.
Thank you I'm so nervous about meeting up! How do you trust?
I kinda respectfully disagree with @pmvines. I think cuddling can be very healing. The thing that hurts the most after a breakup (for me) is just feeling horribly alone and rejected. Having someone be with you and hold you isn't just a distraction or "just a bandaid". Its THE craved need for human connection. Cuddling isn't a supplement for mental health care, but mental health care is also not a supplement for human touch and connection. @ChefKate I'm glad so glad you found a support system. I'm sorry for your pain.
Yesssss @MxSmith . Said perfectly!
Cuddling isn't a supplement for mental health care, but mental health care is also not a supplement for human touch and connection.
This statement makes sense to me
Im doing both!
seems like there's a right balance for everything and every person, which is subject to change at any time
OP for me it's both yes and no. My first experience cuddling as an adult was with someone who was merely teasing me. Because we weren't in a relationship, I think it's too much of a stretch to say it was heartbreak when she decided to stop teasing me and threaten stalking allegations if she ever hears from me again. For right now my presence on CC is not due to heartbreak because I haven't been in a relationship in over 3 years.
@MxSmith my thoughts exactly. Touch is touch to the body/mind. There's not a "root problem" of needing touch connection.
