  • I received my Pfizer vaccine about a month ago from the VA, Tuesday I got a call from them wanting to schedule an appointment for a new round in September, I'm like I got my shot, should be good right? It was then I was informed that the current shots are good for 3-6 months, after that the CDC and WHO recommend getting new shots as the old ones may not protect people. I figure this is going to be like a Flu shot thing, get it once / twice a year thing from now to eternity.

Yes, fully vaccinated with Moderna. I was able to get appointments with Rite Aid and got my 1st in and 2nd It was easy and no lines/wait or crowds.

  • This Sunday at midnight is deadline to register for the millionaire Covid lottery in Ohio Have my fingers crossed!

  • 2 for 2 Pfizer-brand Satan juice in my veins!
    🔥 💀 🎸 🔥
1st shot: Sore shoulder, kept it in motion to avoid pain just fine. Until waking up the next day, “Ahhhhh.”
2nd shot: Immediate side effect of narcissism, then a quick drop of energy levels for two days, plus a headache.

For those opposing the thread: I’m suddenly unavailable....

  • People not getting vaccinated want those all-natural antibodies that people are just dying to have.

  • Fully vaccinated with Moderna, The Dolly Parton =) , on March 12th.

  • Pfizer x2 in February. Still plan to keep wearing a mask because I have really liked not getting a cold for 15 months.

  • I’m not getting it, no, for myriad reasons that the public is not being given informed consent about. Vitamin D3 and zinc supplements to bolster a healthy immune system is my best defense against pathogens. I’m choosing to do only that for now.

  • @alb2049 I am not surprised about Canada! A lot of finger pointing going on up here.
I think they are starting to get their act together.
currently close to 50 % have has at least one shot .

  • Got both of my shots and the two week period after the second one literally just ended a day before I typed this!
I don't get out much, even before the pandemic I didn't but it's nice to have the option with a little less dread, y'know?

  • I've had two Astra-Zeneca vaccines. I just feel so much more confident.

  • Yes. I’ve been fully vaccinated since March.

@cuddleaddict I simply don't care. I don't owe anyone anything. I'm not responsible for anyone else's health. No one has the right to pressure me into undergoing a medical procedure, pharmacological alteration, or medication for their benefit and not for mine.

Wow, you're a selfish (Redacted swear. -squeakytoy). Good luck with that, cool guy.

...It's people like that who wrecked my lungs.

"I'm not responsible for your health," they said as they breathed their germs into my face, coughed them into the air of the room I'm stuck in for eight hours, wiped them on the products I have to reshelve, etc.

Worked out real well for me, that did.

Hey folks, feel free to continue this discussion. If someone posts controversial or offensive views, they should accept that there will be some pushback. I'll only intervene if Covid misinformation is posted or other forum rules are broken. Thanks.

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

    Thanks, @squeakytoy.

Comments like that one, that essentially say "I don't care that I might be exhaling poison, I'm not going to sanitize myself, I don't care who I hurt" infuriate me because dangit, that's exactly the attitude that's still hurting me!

Now, I'm selfish, okay? And even I wouldn't take a chance on poisoning random people if I could possibly prevent it. (Specific people, sure, maybe. But not random ones.)

Being nocturnal (perforce) makes getting vaccinated difficult even if you don't have a history of weird immune reactions to standard vaccines—I've been dependent on herd immunity most of my life. Which works well when people actually get vaccinated, and even better when they don't breathe on me, but....

In the end, I'm relying on other people to protect me from themselves.

I can't stop someone else from loading my environment with harmful germs. I don't have the power to protect myself from somebody who, knowing they may be carrying a harmful disease, decides to fire a germ bullet at me instead of teaching their system to clean the germs out.

"Not responsible for anyone else's health."

When someone chooses to spread their bacteria and viruses everywhere—when they infect me with a disease that leaves me, over six months later, still unable to take a deep or quick breath without coughing—when someone makes a choice that damages my health, they are unquestionably responsible for my (loss of) health.

Just because I can't track down the people who harmed me doesn't mean they didn't do me harm.

I miss being able to breathe.

  • @MountainCuddles

I'm not responsible for anyone else's health.

Yes you are. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's not true.

Every time you get into a car, you take on responsibility for the health of every road user you meet.

Every time you breathe out, you take on responsbility for the health of every single human being. Whether you like it or not.

Children sometimes ask me questions along the lines of, "What's it like being an adult?" The difference is that a child does not carry responsibility: a baby is not responsible for finding it's own food, for example. An adult has the freedom to make their own choices, but has to accept the consequences of those choices. You choose to breathe out: therefore you choose to accept responsibility for the the health of others. As we have responsibility for you.

No one has the right to pressure me into undergoing a medical procedure, pharmacological alteration, or medication for their benefit and not for mine.

But the primary beneficiary of vaccination is you. The rest of us are only secondary beneficiaries of you being vaccinated.

    I simply don't care.

That's the part of your post that makes the the most sad. You're saying that there is not a single person in the world that you care about .... which makes me wonder if there is anybody who truly cares about you. We, on this forum and in the cuddle community, do care about you as much as we can. Which, admittedly, isn't much. But we care about everybody who could do with a hug, and I venture to suggest that you fall into that category.

@DarrenWalker And I have absolutely zero sympathy for you. The fact that you feel justified in demanding that other people undergo medical treatment against their will, for YOUR protection, is despicable. Personal attack removed. @MountainCuddles - first and final warning. Any further personal attacks will result in forum timeout. [-Sid]

  • I have been vaccinated since December...yay!

  • [Deleted User]DarrenWalker (deleted user)

Say, @squeakytoy, @Sideon, @Mark... should somebody who deliberately puts others in danger of death or permanent health damage without their consent be allowed to contact people through this site?

(Other users, feel free to chip in your two cents too.)

  • edited May 2021

    @CuddleDuncan

"But the primary beneficiary of vaccination is you. The rest of us are only secondary beneficiaries of you being vaccinated."

But the reason the vaccine is being pushed, in direct violation of informed consent, is precisely because of the secondary benefits.

I simply don't care about the public health matter. Let's assume for the sake of argument that it were true that vaccinating people against their will would save some lives, and that it would save more lives than it would destroy. It doesn't matter.

ALL FORMS OF MEDICATION ARE A PERSONAL DECISION, PERIOD, NOT A COLLECTIVE DECISION.

Regarding a certain form of medication as a social obligation, imposed by the collective upon the individual, is the height of tyranny.

  • [Deleted User]squeakytoy (deleted user)

@DarrenWalker The main reason we brought in the anti-Covid-misinformation rule was community safety. This site helps people get together for close physical contact, after all. We realize that people will have their own preferences in terms of how they stay safe (isolation/bubbling, masks, vaccines, etc).

But, because of the nature of this site, I would expect a basic level of care for the well-being of those around us, whatever way we choose to personally protect ourselves in these times. I consider that crucial to the safety of the community. In that respect, the lack of care expressed by @MountainCuddles is concerning to me.

    Thoughts, @Sideon ?

Not comfortable being in close proximity with non-vaccinated individuals? Simple! Don't cuddle me! That's your choice! Problem solved!

What's not your choice is to tell me that I can't work if I don't get vaccinated, or that I can't enter a grocery store if I don't get vaccinated, or that I can't travel if I don't get vaccinated.

  • @DarrenWalker , @MountainCuddles , @squeakytoy , @CuddleDuncan

CC is a platform to promote platonic connections. Community safety is a primary consideration. The methods by which members employ or consider to remain safe is under their purview, as @squeakytoy so eloquently stated.

If one chooses not to be vaccinated, that is their choice, and likewise it most certainly a collective decision to avoid and/or not cuddle those people. Personal liberty does not grant carte blanche freedom to harm other individuals or communities because of negligence and potential infection. No one is being strapped down and vaccinated against their will, but the argument that vaccinations are a form of tyranny in defiance of public safety doesn't stack up against institutional knowledge of the last century since at least the 1918 HIN1 pandemic, polio, and other world-wide events. Welcome to 2020 and the new one called Covid 19.

Vaccines save lives. Higher education have been implementing vaccine policies for decades: measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, tetanus, dipththeria, pertussis, tuberculosis, with strong recommendations for Hep A, B, HPV, and Polio. The days of religious exemption and "personal liberty" in those arenas died decades ago.

Let's leave the anti-vax opinions to your personal diaries or other platforms. They are not welcome here.
