Men, why do you cuddle?

@BestLovingTouch: Guess I must've misread your original post. Could have sworn you said something like "I created confidence, self respect, self worth, honor and grace in a whole new way as a result of the soul connections that I have had with cuddling and coaching clients!"

Like cuddling magically gives a person "soul connections," whatever those are, which then give a person the power to create self-respect "in a whole new way," whatever that means.

That whole original post is kinda tough to parse. For me, at least.

  • I like it as a stress reliever. Always liked pressure. I used to lift up my mattress and lay under it when I was young, but it can be a bit uncomfortable because there is also pressure on your head

  • I like cuddling as it's relaxing, and it's nice to feel like you can just "be" with someone, and just be accepted and not have to perform or do anything. For me, having a love language of physical touch, I find it hard to "feel" like I'm emotionally close to someone if I'm not also physically close/near to them, if we're not like sitting next to each other. So in some ways it helps me feel more connected to those around me.

I find in cuddling it's easier to open up with people and people let down their guards and be real with ppl, I tend to thrive on deeper conversation, so it's nice to be able to have more than surface level conversations with people.

Another thing I've heard it said is that beauty is attractive. There's a natural attraction between men and women. I can't really explain the why behind it, but for me it feels nice/right/peaceful to be around and near beauty/women (when they're also at peace and happy to be around). Most men live in a world where, if you're single, other single women will avoid, ignore, or potentially treat you badly if they're not interested in you and they think you ~might be interested in them. Some of it may a default safety mechanism, and a way to say 'i'm not interested' without actually saying it, but sadly that creates feelings of rejection/isolation. I believe people are made to be social creatures. We all need each other in some fashion. I believe this site used to have more non-pro cuddlers, but then ppl saw they could make money off of it, and now it's largely filled with pros who don't appear to have ever cuddled with anyone, and seem more here for money than for cuddles and connecting with people socially/emotionally.

So it's a mix. Some men act very badly and hence cause all women to need to be on guard. But in the ideal world, I think we would all be unafraid to express platonic love and care for one another. Cuddling is nice, cause some gals I find I like, but don't ever see us getting together romantically. Cuddling can be a way to express care in a way that's stronger than words, but still preserve and maintain boundaries. I talked with a friend recently and she started sharing about some troubling times she had growing up. My instinct was I wanted to hug her. I think there's a natural element to affection that is probably lost since society can tend to view and treat touch interaction as romantic or romantically-motivated. But I think just showing care for your fellow human beings, in it's raw form, involves more hugging, hand holding, and such that can't just be replaced with mere words.

So yes. Aside from just finding ppl to cuddle with for cuddles sake, you could say my main goal/motivation is to promote platonic touch, and is in line with cuddle party beliefs/mantra, that platonic touch is healthy and normal, and should not just be exclusive to kids and romance. And that we're missing a lot of benefit by just 'throwing the baby out with the bath water.'

But I'm grateful that more ppl are generally opening up to give cuddling a chance, though of course safety should be too priority whenever meeting random people online.

  • I suspect some men cuddle because they don’t do housework.

  • OMGOSH!!!! @FunCartel I know I'm not supposed to be answering this because its not directed at me but I HAVE TOOOOOOOOO!!!!! 🥰😍💗 "some men cuddle because they don't do housework" 😂😂😂 I am LITERALLY ROLLING ON THE FLOOR LAUGHING!!!!

I love this! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! It IS a different objective every time! Well said!!

It is different for everyone. My prime objective is known only at the time of cuddling—relaxation, stress reliever, sleep, socialization or just cuddling—I have zero expectations until my species comes down from Mobithia to pick me up in a terrestrial Gojaha.

  • I'm not currently cuddling, but why do I like to when the rare occasion arises? Because I love connection (a precious commodity these days!) I love to have a safe place to express a profound need to nurture with a sweet gentle energy. On occasion I need to be taken care of, especially after being a caregiver to the disabled/elderly people in my life which I have to do in addition to being self employed with a thriving business. My interest in cuddling pairs with my passion for energy healing, which I've always felt called to practice in a manner more intimate than Reiki and modalities.

  • @GentleMan1111 good reminder! I need to restart my Reiki 🙏🏼

  • I feels nice to exchange some human contact, without any expectations or pressure, just to relax and let some oxytocin flow.

  • I look for cuddling.

  • i guess to feel like i'm wanted to be cared for. someone wants me close and nothing else is on their mind but our time

  • I cuddle to receive physical affection, to be seen, to practice conversation skills. Its helped me learn more about other perspectives, given me more confidence, and made me more affectionate with others in my life.

  • I cuddle because... need cuddles?

  • Mostly to make friends in long run.

It is OK, but I dont think it was up to what I first thought it was.

I'm not a dude, but I cuddle cause it feels nice. I love me some oxytocin.

  • [Deleted User]harterq (deleted user)

I like to cuddle because I love to be touched and I’m never in situations that releases the oxytocin chemical and cuddling definitely helps release it!

  • I don't know. But I felt more of that oxytocin when I exercise for long periods of time.

  • Cuddling with a person who you have no history with feels different to me than someone I know well. 100% of thoughts are just on the cuddle, and no pressure before or afterwards to check-in with the person, like one would automatically feel with a friend.

  • I cuddle because it is soothing and sometimes good balance from dates that can take anywhere from 3- 6 hrs out my day and I rather just do a hr of interaction and get to rest of my day doing other things

  • I don't understand the question. Is there the implication that there is a benefit enjoyed by men that is not enjoyed by women? What do you get out of cuddling that a man does not? Is it not mutually beneficial? Is it not because we're human, along with every subset aspect of humanity? Our physiology reflects other aspects of our humanity that show we are not only made for each other physically, but also emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. We complement each other. Isolated, we cannot experience this. In a world that is increasingly isolationist, what is the natural, human response? To connect. To reconnect. Four limbs, four connections, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, all intertwined as we are to each other, for a few moments. No strings attached, we say. Nay. Not unattached; what we really mean is hearts unbroken. Emotional, mental, and spiritual boundaries are there as much as physical boundaries. But connections can't be made with no strings attached. The commitment lasts for the moments we cuddle, and then we walk away, perhaps for a while, perhaps forever, safely disconnected and hearts intact, each of us having experienced what is mutually beneficial and desirable as humans.

  • @cuddles_ndream Love love love your authenticity! It is where freedom is found! I see you reflecting on your journey to knowing yourself. Where we start that journey to self discovery/connection doesn't mean anything about us and it means everything about us. Were you seeking self with all you knew at the time?

  • @Carl2714 Love it! The benefits of practice the things in life that we are unfamiliar with in a safe space is a blessing!! And its clear that you get that!!

There is such a thing as intimacy and closeness with a woman. I recently hired a cuddler after my mother passed away. I had a horrible relationship with my mother. As a result I had a hard time connecting with women throughout my life. I have no idea what motherly love is. However barriers have been broken in progress has been made. Cuddling has made me a more confident man.
