However, I think being a pro cuddler appeals to a very specific niche of women. They are women who are willing to go to a strange man's house and get in bed with him, but who don't want to be sex workers (which would generally pay much more).
I think OnlyFans creators in general are kind of the opposite of that (although clearly there is some level of overlap). They are sex workers who don't want to go to strange men's houses. I am guessing most OnlyFans refugees will flood some other site (there already are sites that fulfill the same purpose, just not as well known), and a few will choose to become escorts or sugar babies. But becoming a pro cuddler would take two paradigm shifts for an OF creator: "I'm willing to see men in person, but I don't want to be a sex worker."
Some would join here most of them are not doing anything in person that is like they do with a trusted partner on OF. just getting fans.

There has also been word that women will just start releasing their OnlyFans-type-of-content through another medium (perhaps through Skype or Zoom) while being paid through Patreon, though I’m not familiar with exactly how that would work or what that would look like.

There are sound legal reasons for that. IF the police want to go after someone for sex work, to enter their home they have to get a warrant and to get a warrant they need evidence upon which to base it. Much easier to set up a sting operation and entice someone into it, at least in the U.S.
I had no idea Onlyfans was changing its content type. Millions of new creators flooded it during the pandemic as people lost their in person jobs or daycare and had to get creative to pay the bills. People are multifaceted. There are sexworkers of various types from single moms to married couples to medical school students to accountants. It's not a stretch to think various Onlyfans creators would choose to move from that to either sugaring/escorting OR to pro cuddling OR back to something mainstream. (NO, I do not have an OF. Lol) I just wanted to say it sounds like you're profiling them as a particular type of person. A lot of them are just regular people who weren't even sexworkers before 2020.

I’ve met a few cuddlers that have OF accounts, not much traction on there. Just people being creative trying to make a living like all of us.

i don’t think OnlyFans ever intended to be a site for hosting porn. Tons of women flooded the site with it and so that’s what it became known for, but that doesn’t seem to have been the original plan. Pretty sure on the other hand that Little Caesars went into the pizza business on purpose.

@MaineCuddle exactly, these women...and men have found a way to create an income through this since their jobs were taken away. From what I have read...and it is only a little, nude photos are still allowed but not all the sexual content. People got on there for many reasons, I know models that never went nude on there and made a huge living.

What I liked about the site was that it was one of the few that allowed sexual content, being a Relationship and Intimacy Coach it has been difficult to stay on main social media platforms. And I did start a OF page, but never used it. I just liked knowing it was there. I didn't use it as when I told people about it I realized it would take a while to change peoples minds of what what is is known for to and educational platform for me for couples or people who wanted to know how better their relationship.

It is going to be devastating, but they won't be coming here. $80-150 an hour is nothing compared to what they made on OF. Some had 1000's followers, men and women.
This world is only getting worse, why can't people, the banks, government realize that sexuality is part of life, there are places for it, and other places not...like not here, but seriously, on a site, I'm not sure if it was made for it, but it allowed it and it gave people freedom- mothers, students, people were able to live all over the world and share their craft, art and their own explicit content that they have every right to share. And no one is getting hurt and no one is even touching anyone. Then they better take porn down. As that is the same thing and porn stars were making a killing on there from what I read.
This whole thing is ridiculous, the world is going to shite! So sad, I feel sorry for all the people that this is going to effect. with only 5 weeks to find jobs and then have the chance of getting ill. I want to create a new world...I really do.
I can understand if that site didn't intend for porn to take it over, but if that's the case they should've monitored it more closely and not allowed it - kind of like CC.

@CuddleMeYummy - In many ways, I agree with you that it is unfortunate for a handful of content creators on there.
But there are other avenues, if not Patreon. There are individual websites where you can find independent ‘massage therapists’ and more. (I only know that because of curiosity and research.)
This is certainly not the end for people to connect with others via the internet for intimacy and sexuality and monetary exchange. People will just have to continue to innovate and become more creative.
Just like our ancestors did who ran brothels in the Old West; If they could do it then, people can do it now, especially with the connection which the World Wide Web provides via the internet.
They’re just positioning for their ipo. I’m sure the sex side of it will still thrive, just more subtly. But will also open the door for so much more- which was naturally happening anyhow
I actually see the rise of sex workers via OnlyFans and other online platforms as a sign of a pretty dysfunctional society. In principle I am not against sex work. But as far as I can tell, between online content, sugar dating, stripping, and plain old escorting, a massive fraction of young women are now involved in some kind of sex work. I have not seen any concrete data, but I would not be surprised if 40% or more of women in the US under 25 have done some form of sex work at some point. I don't think this is normal or healthy. While I doubt laws restricting sex work are the right solution, I do wish more people would be actively asking, "What the hell is going on here?!"

Yes, some women made obscene amounts of money on OF. But there were many, many women on OF who never managed to build much of a following. If you go look at online communities for sex workers, or specifically for women on OnlyFans, you'll find lots of them making just a few hundred monthly, or even less. While as I said in my first comment here I doubt the bulk of OnlyFans refugees will be coming here, I don't think it's necessarily because they were all making tons more money than they could possibly make cuddling.
@CuddleWho There have always been girls in college that stripped or escorted. I knew one who was in the PhD program with me. That was 30 years ago at the height of the AIDS epidemic. If one could makes $100/hr or more and not incur school debt, then why not?

I’m not saying the phenomenon never existed before. I’m saying it’s gone from maybe 1% or 2% of college girls to closer to 50%.
I think it was higher than that before but to answer your question, please refer to my first post and the exacerbated comment and you will find you are arguing about nothing. If something is exacerbated it forces people to do things they normally wouldn’t do, hence the rise. Even before the pandemic there was a growing anxiety of younger people graduating and not finding meaningful work for months.
I’m fairly sure all statistic suppositions will be anecdotal, at best.
What I am sure of is that I worked as a personal protection for dozens of young women in the Santa Barbara/Goleta area during my early 20’s.
Basically driving/escorting them to various gigs they had, be it bachelor parties, private clients, clubs, what have you.
From dancers, to strippers, to escorts, to sex workers, to sex therapists, none of this is remotely new, with the possible exception of being able to do some of that work from the safety, and relative anonymity, of your own bedroom.
But I doubt that more opportunity created more people willing to do that work.
I suspect it merely made it less discreet.

Imagine a world where we are safe & free to desire, celebrate, and express our true selves!! Where consent is not only expected & validated, it is truly the only way to communicate.
