Why can we search for cuddlers by Ethnicity, but not Body Types?

First of all, I am curious why anyone would need to filter by Ethnicity at all? It seems irrelevant to cuddling...

However, body type is somewhat relevant as some people may prefer to cuddle with a taller/smaller person and a body does come into account in some ways when cuddling.

Am I doing it wrong and you can search by this? Or is it some kind of oversight? It would be a nice addition to have more search filters. :)

  • @JSheek I suppose in a way you answered your own question: "It would be a nice addition to have more search filters."

I can make a case for and against both the filters in question. Firstly, I don't think the two are really as important to most as we think Plus, there's just so much that we can be picky about out here given the ratio of men to women. Along with the ratio of people we've other crucial compatibilities with such as distance and being here for the right reasons. So I think that having such filters may give some people, especially newbies a false sense of there being a lot of options. As well as even a tiny bit solidifying their limiting mindset/beliefs.

On the other hand, perhaps there are people who really aren't open to this or that for whatever reason. And thus I think it does the group they aren't into a favor by helping to limit time waste.

  • @JSheek i agree with you I'm the type of person i look for honesty i don't look for colour or shape i suffered alot with fake people taking advantage of me i like honest people and real carers so far all my pro are amazing carers with excellent customer service 1 of them she never check the time and makes me very comfortable she doesn't think when this session going to finish.

  • Welcome to cc, you have valid questions & curiosity- I thought we were able to view them as both my height & body type shows in my profile & I remember selecting it, now I don’t know if they are an option when filtering, never noticed it I guess or wasn’t a thought for me

In my opinion frankly I can’t see why either is relevant to cuddling. would you not cuddle your spouse or significant other if they were “fat” or “thin”?
or would you refuse to sit in a seat that was too close or right next to a person of a particular ethnicity?

it seems the thing we seek from others is also the thing that puts boundaries, limits, walls, ect… between us…. acceptance.

@sage_wisdom You're right. Which is why I thought it was weird we could search by ethnicity...

But since we can, I don't see why we can't just filter by all the info too.

And a wife/husband relationship isn't the same as a cuddling one. body type can matter a little bit in terms of preferences (i think so anyway)

cuddling is not a romantic or sexual act. it is a physical healing platonic touch. why would it be different? a husband/wife bf/gf is a real life example of two people who would cuddle.

  • [Deleted User]JSheek (deleted user)

@sage_wisdom I'm not sure what you mean? A spouse should have unconditional love, so of course you don't care about body type.

For a practical example. If I am 4'11 then maybe I prefer to cuddle smaller people (or vice versa) due to physical comfort preferences. A cuddle preference of body size makes more sense for this physical act, while ethnicity has no bearing whatsoever on the physical act of cuddling.

Do you get what i mean?

I was confused as to why you said “a wife/husband relationship isn't the same as a cuddling one.”
that they are somehow totally separate and different. isn’t cuddling just simply cuddling regardless of who is cuddling?

  • The feeling might vary, like cuddling a bf/gf is going to hit different then cuddling a friend or a dog, but the act overall is the same either way. Either way it's showing affection towards someone else.

  • People are free to choose what body type, sex, etc. they are comfortable with. They aren't obligated to justify that choice or even provide a reason for it. I don't think it is really for anyone, but the one making that decision to understand it or simply be content with it.

  • I did not even realize that was a search function. Obviously I have not paid attention to it.

There may be legal reasons why one is available as a search option and the other is not.

  • Hmm, body type does seem quite relevant to cuddling. I suspect adding this as a search filter might not affect much given the availability of people as @Lovelight said

I'll add this to our roadmap for consideration. I'm not aware of there being a meaningful reason for the omission.

  • @sage wisdom not sure if it aint romantic to men up here. Most men up here I'm sure only trying to cuddle pros they find somewhat attractive if they are paying. Maybe with enthusiast but im sure some of us could bend there due to it being free and mutual.

  • Lovelight I 100% agree with your response.
People are free to choose and I for 1 like to have that option.
Jsheek you say ethnicity shouldn't matter but then you go on to rant over their body size.
Sounds like an oxymoron to me.
We have enough division in this world. It would have been easier to simply bring up the conversation having a body type option rather than throwing the race card. Just Saying

@sunnysideup "Hmm, body type does seem quite relevant to cuddling. I suspect adding this as a search filter might not affect much given the availability of people as @Lovelight said"

Actually I think it could affect much in terms of limiting how many people someone may have a chance with,* depending on * how many other filters one may have.

On a niche platform like this, we are essentially scattered across 'the world'. So the picker men in particular are the harder it could get for them. And even become frustrating to those who have yet to see the bigger picture. Ideally it may matter. Though we aren't in an ideal world, much less an ideal platform/time to be too picky and expect to find someone like yesterday.

Though I think it's better to have the options anyway and people can make use of it as they see fit.

  • @Lovelight Ah, okay, sorry for the misinterpretation. I still don't think it would change much of anything, since for enthusiast cuddles atleast, it is usually the men who make the first message and many (hot all) operate under a scarcity mindset (less standards/filters to message more people).

  • I have learned that body type to me does not matter in most things including relationships. Cuddling on the other hand is different to me. I have extra weight on me and it is just more comfortable to me to cuddle with someone that has a smaller build. I was married to an awesome woman for 13 yrs that put on weight and as much as I thought she was still beautiful and I was the lucky one. The 1 thing that didn't feel like it use to was cuddling. We still did but it was just different. And no that has nothing to do with our separation. Don't even think I realized it til later

I would still end up choosing to cuddle with big, fat, juicy people, who smelled good, and who didn't mind my rather active cuddle style! I know that fitness is "all the rage," these days, but I still have a preference for people who are sturdy, kind of like a solid piece of oak furniture, who can take the wear and tear! lol
I'm lucky because I can "sort" by picture, a lot of the time! :)

In theory, since cuddling is supposed to be platonic, ethnicity and body type should be of no consequence. In practice? That's often not the case, and this is usually subconscious. That being said, I have always thought that sorting by ethnicity was a little odd. Analyzing why you wouldn't cuddle with someone of a certain ethnicity would be good internal work.

  • @SilasAcostaW After perusing horror movies for decades it has come to my attention that most zombies are whites of European descent. So there’s one reason to screen by ethnicity.

I purposefully omit my body type from my profile because my weight fluctuates and I am not entirely sure which category I fall under. I am sure my body type could fall under multiple descriptions depending on who you ask. Pictures are a lot more telling than someone’s description of themselves.
