Is it weird to cuddle younger or older than you?

I’m pretty new here but is it weird to ask someone a lot older than me to cuddle? I feel I get left on “read” a lot because the profiles I message see how old i’am I’m 21 btw.

good question … how much older are you talking about? Me I rather cuddle older than younger but when I was new I received more replies from the younger ones lol

Not gonna lie, it is really weird seeing reviews from older people 50+ cuddling with 18-23 year olds

I can't see why, given that this is completely platonic. Some people do list age ranges they are comfortable cuddling, and that's their right, but a lot don't.

@cameron44 - I don't think it's weird to ask someone who is a lot older than you to cuddle. I see you've only got one picture, and your bio isn't filled out. Perhaps if you add more pictures and fill out your bio, you might get some replies. Have you tried reaching out to anyone who is closer to your age - to see if they might reply? 🤗🤗🤗

  • @cameron44 No. I have cuddled people much older and younger (over the age of 18) than me before too!🤗Connection is a much bigger factor than age.

  • I haven't cuddled with anyone older than me yet, but I wouldn't have a problem with it. I absolutely love hearing someone's stories when I cuddle, so any difference in age (and likely perspective) may actually be more intriguing to me. I had a cuddle session with a younger woman recently, and we went from cuddling while listening to music to her attempting to teach me some dance moves. It was apparent that she was far more energetic than I, but we both had a great time and LOTS of laughs. It was the most fun I'd had in a while. For me, it wouldn't be weird until it's made weird. I suppose, though, it all depends upon each person's preferences.

  • 🤗It's fine i have cuddled someone 60 years old but she was fit.

  • No it isn’t weird.
@cameron44 you are a male new to the site this is common. People don’t always check here daily. Women get a lot of messages and how many cuddle partners do you need? People on here may already have a few they are close with and not really in the need for one more right away. I sent a message when I was new and they got back to me a month later. Be patient and check their preferences, some given the choice may not prefer someone as young as you and you have to understand that.

"Is it weird" maybe, depends on who you ask. Should it matter? No. You seem to want to put your happiness first, so go for it! It's not even like those who judge are lining up to cuddle with you, so what they've to say shouldn't matter. And sometimes our anxiety can* make things seem worse than they actually are or will be. So you could find that most people either don't care to judge, don't have the time to or don't even notice.

Though unfortunately, being a young man contacting older women, it could lead to some judging you as immature or questioning your motives here * more than they may men in their age range *. A way you may eliminate that would be to fill out your profile in a way that outlines your intentions, and a bit about yourself.
Along with making a good first contact.

It's also not really usual for men to go for older, talking about 10+ year age gap. At least it's not as commonly known about. So some women may wonder why in the world you're contacting them. Especially if they are new and don't quite yet know how niche the platform is. Along with the struggles men encounter.

I don’t think it’s strange. As a pro I’m obviously open to cuddling any adult but even outside of that I don’t think I’d put too much thought into the age of the person I’m cuddling. Though I will say that I have not been contacted by very many (if any) people my age or younger.

  • At first it was strange to me but since I started several years ago, I have cuddled women of many different ages. Connection is the more important thing.

Is it weird to cuddle someone older or younger? Obviously the impetus exists, and we are not abnormal for wanting to cuddle. It's weird when you get to know who you're cuddling, and start to realize that this wonderfully youthful vibrant person is also childish and insecure in some ways.

  • It's not weird at all. I've found older people tend to have more of a need for cuddles, often times because their family has grown up and separated or even passed away. It's all platonic touch so I choose not to discriminate based on age.

  • I don’t think it’s weird at all to cuddle someone much older or younger that you. Here’s a question though, what if it’s a public session and your cuddle buddy is much older or younger? Would you all feel less comfortable with that?

  • @Morpheus I wouldn't feel less comfortable at all. How is anyone to know you're not cuddling a parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, family friend, etc? It's really no one else's business and they shouldn't make assumptions.

I’m 68. Because of my interests, I have friends of all ages in my life so for me it’s not weird at all. In fact, some of my best friendships have been with men young enough to be my kid or even grandkid because they are not likely to see me as dating material so that tension is absent and we can relax and get to know each other. However, I do understand that for some folks it might feel weird and I respect that. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong about it, people have different criteria for what feels comfortable and safe for them.

Regarding public sessions: I’ve cuddled on a park bench more than once with someone way younger. We were just holding hands and leaning on each other. Not many people were walking by but of those who did, no one stared. They may have thought we were friends or related. Think of this: if one of your relatives who was much older or younger had just suffered the loss of a loved one, would you hesitate to hold their hand or comfort them if you were sitting on a park bench together? Probably not.

I did cuddle on a blanket in a park with a guy much younger. It wasn’t in a place where people were walking by closely. Probably no one could even tell, they weren’t that close to us.

If someone were to ask me for advice I would say this: feel free to stay within your comfort zone. However, if you need/want cuddles and what is available is someone outside of an age range that’s your norm, you might want to try expanding your age range a bit. Don’t be afraid to talk about it. Don’t be afraid to express your hesitations. Maybe set a time limit for a first time cuddle to 20 minutes so you aren’t making a big commitment and see how that feels.

Regarding a young guy contacting older women: Tell about yourself and why you’re contacting them. Some may just outright reject you but for those who are open, if you come across as polite, respectful, and mature, you are more likely to get a positive response.

When you’re the older person in the cuddle arrangement, I think it’s important to remember that you’re dealing with someone who has less life experience, may be a lot less sure of themselves. Be responsible. The wider the gap, whether it be ago or other potential factors, the more cautiously I proceed, but I don’t let age be a barrier.

I don’t worry too much about what other people think of me. My concern is the person in front of me, that the quality of that relationship is good. In a cuddle arrangement that means respect.

  • My 2 closest female friends are 32 and 25, I’m 50 and just assume people think they are my daughters.

  • @Morpheus great question , I’m not really into PDA regardless if its someone I’m with or someone I click with to cuddle ect

  • Not at all! I love cuddling women older than I am!

I dont think its weird, as long as both people are fine with it:D

  • It's platonic, not romantic. If I'm cuddling with someone that is around my son's age it's natural to me and they could probably use some mama juju.

It's not weird at all! Oops, edited because I accidentally hit post before I was done typing.

If you really look, you can find things in common with anyone. It's been extremely emotionally rewarding to me in life to connect with a wide variety of human beings from all age ranges, cultures, genders, and backgrounds.

Cuddling is similar. It's just connection. It's not sexual or romantic.

  • @Mela_B - I agree. I enjoy connecting with a variety of people because each has something different to contribute.

  • @Babichev - exactly. It helps us to be less judgmental, and more compassionate and empathetic towards others.

  • @Babichev that's sound advise.

I'd add that some may not care about your age. Though may want someone who is sure of themselves and what they want. So they may not have the interest/time to give someone a 'trial period' like that. Though hopefully with time you'll find mutual acceptance.

  • @Lovelight , oh, definitely, I agree. If it’s no big deal to someone then it’s no big deal. I just put that out as a possibility for someone who wasn’t sure, maybe had some reluctance but wanted to give it a try. That could be an option for anyone who had any reluctance, whether it was because of age or new to cuddling.

  • ☝️ don't waste your life what others think, you will go no where just go for it and don't be afraid. I don't care what people think i have cuddled 60 years old lady. She was wise, experienced enjoyed her conversation because I learn from who's older than me.but she lives very far.

  • It’s not weird. I love it when the youngsters show up bearing gifts of Depends, Polident, tennis balls for the walker, a magnifying glass, reverse mortgage pamphlets, and the best—prune juice to sip on.

  • No. Older folks don't seem to stay here long. There seems to be awkward expectations especially amongst Silent Generation types. This is more of youth driven site so if an older person comes here looking for acceptance, spending time here may be off putting. You would think that older people would flock here because of how loneliness and the need for touch seems to increase as people grow older. But, if they try here and fail, it may actually increase the loneliness factor and they bail. For these reasons I would suspect that cuddles from younger folks would be welcomed. But I'm 67 and I have yet to even chat here with someone older than me and I go straight for them because of all the aforementioned. It's a conundrum.
