Thanks for clarifying. I just wanted to check you were not coming in via your homepage (if you scroll down you should see the Social box which has some forum topics).

Anyway, so now I'm back to looking at it as a forum specific issue. Maybe someone else will offer some feedback here.

What device are you using specifically? I often browse using my Android phone and tablet.

Here has been my nourney down the rabbit hole navigating the forums, from the forum index:

    Recent Discussions (bottom-of-page link)>
Music for cuddling (one-page thread so far, 19 comments, last reply on 8/17)--someone else posted, brought me to their comment (most recent reply).

Wonder Woman thread (2-page thread, 55 comments, last reply on 8/17)-my comment was most recent, clicking on link brought me to my comment (most recent reply).

    Professional Cuddling
What's the market like in New York for Professional Male Cuddlers? (One-page thread, 7 comments, last reply 7/17)--****Brought me to the first post by OP, not the most recent reply.

Professional Cuddling Stigma (one-page thread, 8 comments, last on 8/8)--brought me to the latest reply.

    General
Introductions (11 pages, 312 comments, last one 8/14).   Brought me to the middle of the last page of replies, from 8/11.

So, as you can see, the forums rate "Magic 8 Ball" in responsiveness (for me, anyway) when it comes to navigating the forums.

I'm not technical, so I don't know why a particular device should matter, but I have the Samsung On5.

    Hope all of this helps!

For the above, were you visiting the topic for the first time or had you looked through it previously?

    @Mark, I can't remember. I thought I'd visited it once before, though.

Also, I took some screen shots of a couple of threads, which I can email you, where I not only landed between two comments, but the page boxes 1 2 3 4... etc were between 2 comments...(those happened after those other observations I made). Just plum weird!

On a first visit it should take you to the first post but shouldn't do that on the second visit. Strange.

but the page boxes 1 2 3 4... etc were between 2 comments..

That's normal but only when appearing below the opening post of a topic and only when navigating via the page 1 link.

Also, I took some screen shots of a couple of threads, which I can email you

Yes please do just in case I spot something interesting. Thanks.

    @Mark Email sent!

  • Is there a way to search for posts by user? This would help in getting to know who people are by what they've said, if they've said anything on the forum portion.

  • [Deleted User]StarFlower (deleted user)

@JT1980 As far as I know, the Search function only brings up users who are @-ed, not by if they have started a thread or made a reply.

  • @JT1980

It's not public but here's a secret way to do it. Just use the following URL and put the username at the end.

  • [Deleted User]CptFalkon (deleted user)

I guess I have been a member on this site for two years. Not once have I ever met someone. I don't think there is a easy way to fix that.

  • @CptFalcon, even though we're a little off-topic here, I feel your pain. I note that your profile now reads like your comment above: "been a member on this website for over 2 years and have met no one. I am not going to pay $80 an hour to watch a movie with someone. Hopefully I'm the only person with zero success. Bye and good luck" How did it read before you changed the language to that? I would love to know your stats over those two years.

I've met non-pros here. Not many, but a few. I have found the best way to find people who will talk with me is to be active in the forums. People see who you are that way, and get more comfortable with the idea of meeting you. Have you ever posted in the forums before, except for today's farewell message? Might be worth a try.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled list of technical difficulties.

  • [Deleted User]StarFlower (deleted user)

@CaptFalkon and any others with a negative vibe to their profiles: This is snuggle-repellant. I don't care if you say you don't want to hear from pros or you won't pay $80/hr for snuggles, the message that comes across is: "I don't" and "I won't."

I am a professional cuddler, but even if I weren't and your profile just said that you hadn't found anyone, that would be a downer and I'd look elsewhere. Just being dead honest here because I want you to find a cuddle buddy!

How about only including the positive reasons why you are seeking cuddling and your 2 favorite cuddle positions (or even just 2 that you like)?

Take a look at a few profiles of members who have stated in the forums that they have been successful at finding a cuddle buddy or even a pro cuddler--because even we do suss out compatibility levels. You will find they all are relaxed and positive.

I wish you all the best!

  • @StarFlower, I am not sure if I am doing well with my own profile, I have not been here very often since joining and I am kind of thinking I am not going to get any requests.
Do you think you could give a look to my profile and see what I could do to improve and possibly get some people who I could help out?

  • [Deleted User]StarFlower (deleted user)

@HealingComfort I'll pop over to your profile now and message you!

I have seen, on other forums, where the @ function automatically copies the screen name of the person you're conversing with. I wonder if this is something that has been considered here, since sometimes handles get a little complicated and tedious to type out yourself. Granted it's not a big issue, but may be a good addition down the road.

  • [Deleted User]StarFlower (deleted user)

@VIPirate For that function, there would have to be added a Reply To function added, or am I envisioning something different?

You're right, though, some handles are a chemical formula, have underscores, etc. I'm already developing The Claw from the cell phone typing lol

  • [Deleted User]VIPirate (deleted user)

@StarFlower Nope, you've got it right and explained it better than I! Also, I'm running into the same issue since I don't have a PC and rely on my phone for all online activity. ;)

  • @mark, we have discussed this before is there a quick way to put handles on posts, I have been asked but I did not have an answer.

  • [Deleted User]StarFlower (deleted user)

@VIPirate Thanks for the acknowledgement. :) I think most of us are out and about at some point and typing on our cell phones.

  • I have recently discovered that the site no longer notifies me when a pro visits my profile. I sse the notification when a regular member does; they show up on the visitors list. But pros do not. I learned this by accident. Two different pros referenced seeing my karma, but neither showed up as visitors. So I PM'd a pro I'm friendly with and asked her to visit my page and tell me when she did so. Yet, two hours after she visited, she still doesn't show up on the list. I can't think of any reason to deliberately hide pro visits. If I message a pro about a possible appointment, it would be good to know that she's read my profile. So, whatever changed, I would humbly suggest changing it back. :-)

  • a non paid cuddler told me she had been on my profile page but It didn't show she had.

  • @funandadventure Not at the moment but we'll have a Quote button here soon which should help.

@quietman775 @pmvines It was a bug. Should hopefully be fixed now.

  • Those are some good points.
I've become frustrated with dating sites myself. They just don't work.
It's a shame this site is not known more. It does stand alone from other adult sites, it's an entirely different animal and offers so much that I don't think many people aren't even aware of a site like this exists.
Dating sites have become such the norm when you need the company of another person. Someone like myself that understands the kind of peace cuddling offers, it almost relieves anxiety and doesn't involve the stress that sex brings after. Which is like instant gratification, but you still feel bad afterwards. Cuddling gives a lingering feeling of love and just makes you feel good.
I try to place my profile on dating sites that I'm only looking for cuddling, but when someone reads that, they're like "Yeah, right." and move on.
Another thing that doesn't work for me on dating sites, is when you read other people profiles, the tone of almost any of them come off defensive and even aggressive. They have all these demands and show frustration of getting unwanted advances.

For a site like this, it's a total shift in gears, not only is it meant to be genuine and not include these outlandish premium membership prices. Which I've noticed a lot of these premium sites you pay a lot for, have a large majority of false profiles for 'entertainment purposes'.
The people here are also meant to be genuine and available to give something that is not supposed to be competitive, or have to meet someone's dozens upon dozens of criteria and expectations.
I can imagine there are a lot of people that really just want someone to cuddle and don't know how to go about it, other than having to date someone.
I do really like how the site is laid out so far and is about as noninvasive as possible. I think the community is great.
If there is something I can do to help get the word out, I would.

  • I'll add too that I agree it is frustrating that people are so inactive. I'm guilty of that. It's been months since the last time I logged in. The reason for that is that people are inactive and for that reason there's not a lot of new people and the few I have in my area, didn't respond when I showed interest. So, I tired other places with more people on and more active and still doesn't work, cause it's meant for finding something different than here. I would advertise this place on profiles I have on other sites, but I know I should go violating other sites TOS.

I don't have time to read the 13 pages of comments to see if this was already mentioned... I wanted to mention to the admins that even if I click on every single ethnicity in my search (meaning that I don't care) I still don't see users that have NOT indicated their ethnicity. If I UN-check every single box, then I get to see everybody. So, new users should be cautioned when they create their profile that if they don't fill in their ethnicity box, they will not get picked up in searches by somebody who clicks every single box. Or you need to tell people who are searching that if they really don't care, be sure NOT to pick everything, just pick NOTHING. Did I explain that right?

  • [Deleted User]Doug401 (deleted user)

I wish there was a way to send a picture to another user in a message. I don't want my picture on my profile for privacy concerns, but women that I message are reluctant to give up their email address for me to supply the picture that they want to see.. Ugh.

I believe the default option (nothing selected) will show everyone. It's a bit odd but manually ticking each ethnicity is what is causing this issue. You're right to report it and it's now noted down on my side. Thank you.

I wish there was a way to send a picture to another user in a message.

Of the major upcoming features, private album and one-to-one image sharing is at the top of the list. It frustrates me that it hasn't been done yet. It's also been recently delayed due to a dev resource issue. I'm very confident it will be live this year.

  • [Deleted User]StarFlower (deleted user)

@Doug401 yesssss this would solve a lot of issues!

@Mark Glad to hear this will be happening! :)

  • Having a 'Like' button for this discussion page would help avoid unnecessary re-posts for just agreeing with someone else's statement

Aside from that, I think it'd be nice if people on this cuddle page were more open to cuddling (it does currently feel more like people are non-communicative and/or treading cautiously / treating it like a dating site), but that's up to individual users. Not sure how you can make that better, aside from comments to spruce up profiles and/or emphasize less those who are inactive (and/or deleting blank profiles). If the profile has information, I don't think deleting it for long periods of inactivity is helpful (in making them active or bringing them back).
