Would you be interested in a local non-cuddle meet and greet if one were to occur?

  • I’m glad there’s so many folks interested! And for those of you who know him, I could probably convince @pmvines to come up for it. We stay in touch.

We’ll keep tossing the idea around. And yes, the whole point would be to get to know people. It could be just for fun. Or it might help some folks feel more comfortable with approaching someone for cuddles if they got to know them in a situation where that was not expected.

I'm interested in attending. And If so needed, I'll be happy to facilitate a cuddle at such an event following official cuddle party format.

  • @LionQueenJodi I once had a barbeque, outside, for Hognanay (New Year's Eve). I live in Britain, which is about the same latitude as the southern tip of Alaska. And yes, it was Black Tie. We had a marvellous time.

As the comedian Billy Connolly puts it, "There's no such thing as bad weather. Only the wrong clothes."

Just to reiterate the thread topic, what we are talking about here is a non-cuddling meet and greet. (A cuddle party/workshop is a totally different thing, and much, much more serious to organise.)

  • Yes, this sounds like a great idea.

  • Yes, I am interested

    I would!

  • OOOOOOOHHHHHHH @Babichev this sounds like such a super fun event!!! And you are pretty central to a LOT of things. I think you are so smart to think about organizing a get together that isn't a cuddle party. Just a meet and greet. There isn't as much pressure as something like organizing an actual cuddle party and all of that. You have some fun stuff in your town that is worth seeing.

I know you asked how people could get the word out.... Besides the forums, (because like you said not everyone participates) We could just send out the word to some of the local peeps in our own area whether we have met them or not. I know a few of us were planning a road trip ending with a ping pong tournament with @littermate..... Its that kind of networking that could bring us together if you have the open kind of park space to have the gathering.

It would be like a reunion but with all sorts of fun new people we might not have ever gotten to meet before!

    BRILLIANT.

  • This would be awesome!

  • @CuddleDuncan - while I get your point I’m also pragmatic. I’m not sure how many people would show up for a picnic in the middle of winter.

I’m thinking here in St. Louis some time in May would be good. April weather is still iffy. May is decent. I know a park with easy access and a pavilion large enough that even if it rained there would be sufficient shelter.

Those of you in other parts of the country or even the world may be able to do something like this sooner.

  • I've hosted pro meet and greets with girls in my area at my house in the past and also several others as "enthusiasts" on here, was a wonderful time. 😊😊 💓💓

I would love to come but I'm in Texas

  • Florida is also an option! Due to mostly warm days and no snow! (Great for picnic 🧺 and or possible public cuddles 🤗) I am also interested in possibly traveling to other states too!

  • Yes to Fla! If there is one near Sarasota/Tampa area I would be interested.

Not until the pandemic calms down, no.

It is a great idea. Would be nice to have a few in different states and have someone in charge of areanging it. That way more have the change to go. I think a park would be the best place for it and during warmer weather.

I guess I could offer to set up one here. Lol

I would love to see if there could be one here in Colorado. A bigger gathering seems like nice quality time amongst us. Maybe we could play farkle while we are there 😉 🥰

  • I'd be interested.

  • Nice I travel to Colorado as well! Open to the possibility of visiting many places!

  • I would be all over it

  • If anybody organizes a meet & greet and want to list it somewhere, send me a message and I can put it on the map as a yellow flag: https://getethermap.org/m/cuddle-comfort-map

Info on Cuddle Comfort Land map is in this thread:

  • @MxSmith What a fabulous idea!!! @Babichev was wondering how best to get out the news and that's ONE way. The other challenge is getting word to people who aren't in the forums regularly.... hmmmmmmm thinking thinking thinking... 🤔

  • Popping in for a quick, but enthusiastic "Yes"

  • [Deleted User]Btown (deleted user)

This is such a wonderful idea. I will participate as soon as I recover from recent knee surgery.

  • [Deleted User]Chris55555 (deleted user)

I would, but up here in Canada it’s a tough one to get enough people together.

  • @sillysassy & @Babichev - Once a date is set, you can make the event official on ‘EventBrite’ which can connect to many Android phones and Apple iPhones.

    https://www.eventbrite.com/

  • I went by to look at the site yesterday. I’ll check out tonight about what it takes to reserve it. I’m in St. Louis, MO. Once I have a date set I’ll make a thread just on that. As for how to get the word out to people not on the forums - I’m thinking of sending messages to everyone I’ve connected with, asking them to pass it on to anyone else they’ve connected with, and also sending an invitation to random people in my area. I’m thinking that if they only get one message that I’m not really spamming them. If they are interested, they can check the thread for updates.

  • @Btown WELCOME BACK!!!! For all of you who don't know or don't remember.... This is Mmart.... ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING CUDDLERS ON THE SITE!!!

@Babichev you are so fabulous for coordinating all of this. I will definitely send out messages as well. Once you have specifics we can have it all in one thread to check for details. That will be awesome!

@NicoSnuggs eventbrite is a great option too. :)

  • I think this is a great idea👍🏾 If it's in a place I don't know, that's an added bonus. Count me in especially if there's a nearby transportation hub and/or places with safe, easy parking.

  • Sounds fun! If there was one in or near Pittsburgh, I'd try to make it!

  • I've just been looking at the Map. Considering only the US, I would guess that the 'average' location is somewhere around Kentucky .... which is pretty close to @Babichev in Missouri.
