Profile symbols

I thought of a symbol system to help address concerns over pushy pros/ pushy enthusiasts and confusion over virtual sessions. The idea would be that you would put these symbols at the very top of your profile. You can also elaborate next to your symbol if you choose.

Pro accounts:
🟢- Actively taking on more clients, has spots to fill within the next 7 days
🟡-Busy right now, may not get back to you right away but can fit you in, in the next couple of weeks
🔴-Taking a break
🟢💻 Offers virtual and in person sessions
💻 Only offers virtual sessions

Client/Enthusiast
🟢-Actively looking to hire a pro
🟡-Isn’t actively looking but may be open to hiring a new pro later
🔵-Only looking for other enthusiasts/ doesn’t want to be contacted by pros
🟢🔵 Open to enthusiasts and pros
🔴-Taking a break
💻 Only interested in virtual sessions
🟢💻 Interested in virtual and in person sessions

    @xandriarain This is a neat idea. I have encountered profiles which clearly state things like this - ‘not interested in hiring a pro,’ as an example and love to have those types of indicators.
    What I’ve noticed abundantly though is I may clearly state something on my profile but get multiple messages requesting it or otherwise asking about something clearly stated on my profile so I don’t know how effective this would be. I may just screenshot my profile info and add it as a picture to ensure people are looking 🤣🤷‍♀️

    Real talk, I know my profile is lengthy and it’s sometimes more effective just to dive in and ask or initiate conversation which I very much welcome.

    @Nature_Lover_ thats a tough one. I have to gently suggest people read my profile when its clear they haven’t. Thats why I thought having simple symbols at the top of the profile might make it easier for lazy people.

    It made me feel a little overwhelmed, to be honest. I am extraordinarily verbal, and I think, for me, the colors are confusing and distracting because I require words to understand direction. But that's just me.

    I understand, I just mean the colors and symbols are distracting for me. I think perhaps I am easily confused.

    @Mela_B My inspiration for them was the traffic light. Because everyone knows green means go yellow means slow and red means stop. I chose blue for people only looking for enthusiasts because this website is blue and it started out as an enthusiast only website. The laptop for virtual sessions because obviously people often to those on a computer or phone. And then the rest is just combining the different symbols for different situations and preference types

    In no way trying to be unhelpful, this may be very helpful for others. It just honestly visually overwhelmed me. If everyone used it and I got used to it, it'd probably be great.

    I honestly want to only cuddle with those who took the time to read my profile. I remember being fond of ordering from a company from a catalog (before the internet days) and this company would always hide a riddle - the correct answer to which would earn you free shipping - inside the catalog somewhere. When the catalog arrived I would go through every item and ended up making a "shopping list" instead of ordering just the one pair of shoes which I needed, just for a chance to get the free shipping! It worked beautifully for them, they sold more stuff to me than they would have otherwise. Pros - this is a good idea to adopt! Hide a "quiz" question in your profile around one of the items in the platonic cuddling contract - when a new client sends their first message with the correct answer, they earn a discount on your first session with them!

    If this is for lazy people as was noted earlier, why would you assume a lazy person would look at a key explaining the color codes? I am with @mela_b—this is visually busy and unnecessary. Sometimes you can scheme to solve a problem to no avail because the solution is in the people who won’t read. But I don’t think that is the problem. I think the problem is people who are willfully ignorant of the rules. They have an agenda that your agenda can’t fix.

    @FunCartel there are a lot of enthusiasts/nonpros who do not specify whether or not they are looking to hire a pro or just wanting to cuddle an enthusiast so I was hoping they would adopt this system.

    How many people would actually use it? The vast majority of people on this site aren’t on the forums. And if you have to put a written explanation next to them, why not just do that? That’s accessible to everyone.

    The concept of clearly stating what you need / are open to / are providing ect is attractive whether it be by way of statement or statement with symbols. Unwanted pushiness from all directions is definitely a reoccurring theme and deserves attention to ensure we can do our part to deliver the best experience all around.

    I also love the OP’s aspirations for creative continuous improvement and her openness to constructive critique.

    Where this could be more applicable or useful might be if it could be incorporated within the search filters or visible on the initial profile picture so that one who might only be interested in a virtual connection, as an example, would skip the trouble of viewing a profile and possibly reading a lengthy profile to verify if there is synergy.

    It may be an easier fix to create a “geographic” location on our cuddle map to have pins for all pros who have unlimited territory by way of virtual sessions. We could call it virtual island ?

    We could even create “doublin” a spot to list all pros open to cuddle puddles or double cuddles. Totally just spit balling random semi relatable options here for further exploration. 🤣 This one might be less practical or applicable but again, I’m just thinking out loud about possibilities.

    The way I see it, we all benefit from greater connectivity and efficiency within this platform and within our lives.

    Just my thoughts.

    @Babichev I agree. If we have bios and now dots, I am less inclined to look at someone’s page at all. As it is, I look for the P if I want a pro or no P if I want an enthusiast. I am familiar with TOS. Then I skim the bio past all the “amazing touchy feely/the cure to what ails you” fluff to see pricing/availability/screening info. Some pros have such convoluted bios that I do not even bother and I skip them altogether and go to the next. The more you add, the more cumbersome and cluttered it all becomes. As someone who travels and whose schedule changes on a dime I want efficiency, timely responses, and accountability, not dots. My two cents as an enthusiast and client.

    Edit: I got to thinking that some may want to know what I mean by accountability. I mean being accountable to the client by being on time, communicating any changes, and in general doing what you say you are going to do rather than telling someone what they want to hear then doing whatever you want. That works both ways as well.

    Two people a day are killed by someone running a red light. Do cuddlers really want to take that chance?

    I don't much care for this system. In general, I strongly dislike emoticons. I'm biased, however, as I greatly value clear and direct communication.

    In my mind, if something is worth saying, it's worth putting effort into saying it.

    I'm confused by the red dot beside the computer meaning "virtual sessions only" instead of "no virtual sessions," and in general all the dots kind of make my eyes cross anyway.

    Regretfully, I have to admit I find the whole thing bewildering.

    These would be useful if they were visible without having to look at the profile, like if they just showed up beside the photo and username. Then you could choose to look at the profile if they have the symbol you're interested in.

    @DaringSprinter I have seen some pros who state they are not taking in person sessions due to either covid or personal choices or reasons so I imagine that’s why there would be such an option. And such a system in any form that better connects folks also only seeking virtual connectivity with those that solely offer that feels smart to me.

    @MaineCuddle you could embed the symbols in your photos. At least I know on an iPhone you can do it with markup.

    No, I mean that having a red dot beside a computer seems to say "No Computer Sessions"—but actually it means the exact opposite. That's what I find confusing there.
