How to End a Cuddle Session Well

Different cuddle sessions are going to be different experiences depending on the people involved.

However, if it is a good session, I have noticed that there are better and worse ways to end a cuddle session.

I have attached a poll with some general things which I have either experienced or heard of others doing together after a cuddle session, but I’m sure there are other options; Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences.

  • Saying a mutual "thanks" and going your separate ways works pretty well for me.

A lot of those sound like terrible ideas, and would serve as really good ways of blurring the boundaries and complicating things.

Just thank each other for the experience, say goodbye, maybe with a hug, and leave.

  • I said multiple because even though our cuddle has to end, I want to make sure my cuddler ends on a very relaxing note. So I have a little relaxing timer go off about 10 minutes beforehand so we can choose their fave position. After a good little while, I’ll have us sit up and I’ll give a bit of a back scratch. I work in a chocolate factory back in Canada so I have a good slew of goodies in a bowl so they can grab a treat on the way out. I give them a big squeezy hug, thank them and I might send a text later on thanking them for a relaxing time 😊

  • @Sheena123's ending sounds pretty much spot on to me.

If you are "Hurrying to end the session so as not to catch feelings" I would suggest that the feelings have already been caught.

I'm not a fan of making decisions immediately after a session, such as future arrangements or leaving karma. If it was a good cuddle session, then you are not in a fit state to make decisions. If it was a bad cuddle ... well, then you're not in a fit state to make decisions.

I don't understand the items like 'making a bonfire' or 'going for a walk'. How are those endings?

The really puzzling one is 'end with a song you both enjoy' since that suggests that the session has involved music somebody doesn't like, and I can't think of a reason why you would do that.

Listen for the knock of the next client. It definitely gets you moving fast :)
    Or sing that song

  • Majority of this list is nonsense. Hold the door open for her and thank her for her time. Wash, rinse, repeat.

  • I chose other! I think we should end it to this song

  • The best pro cuddler I’ve visited had a predictable, consistent ending to cuddling that I appreciated, enjoyed and use a version of when I’m cuddling with an enthusiast;

1.) she has a soothing alarm that goes off when there are 5 minutes left.
2.) She asks what cuddle position would feel good for the last few minutes.
3.) she’d then leave the room when time was up and gave me time to get out of pjs and into street clothes; she’d always say, “take your time,” and was pleasant and calm.
4.) She’d wait for me by the door.
5.) Ask me how I felt.
6.) Reminded me to take a moment before driving (since cuddling gives you all the good drugs that makes you not always the most attentive driver.)
7.) She then asked if I wanted a hug and wished me well.

It is a good transition. I knew exactly where I stood. She left it up to me to schedule another session after I left; which I also really like. It never felt pushy. All around made me feel great.

  • @ShaneMTB - That does sound wonderful :)
Thank you for sharing that Shane.

  • When I don my Porky Pig head and say “Th-th-that’s all folks”.

  • I like to express heartfelt gratitude

I usually avoid having to end things by not starting them.

  • I can be so flippin awkward when it comes to parting... from anywhere really (I just struggle with transitions and goodbyes). Having clearly stated time frames make it much easier though. And the gentle alarm, along with being left alone to reset oneself with "Take your time, I'll be in the _____." then being met with an offer of a to-go snack &/or beverage and hug by the door with a short, "It was nice seeing you, be safe." is perfect!! (To be fair though, we came up with most of that after I talked about how leaving can be so hard sometimes and I didn't want to be taking up too much of his time ~ it was really quite sweet and I felt like he was really understanding/accepting of me as I am.)

I find doing something together like reshingling the roof of laying new flooring at the host residence is quite therapeutic. Of course this doesn't work as well when your pro works at a hotel. I don't know why they frown on that. Last time I cuddle at a Comfort Inn. The point is, end with a smile and a laugh if you can. A merry heart doeth good like a medicine (Proverbs 17:22)

  • So many wonderful responses !!! Love this thread and @cuddlebear4U48 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • Usually when I'm hosting, If there is time available to do it, I offer to make a cup of chai or hot chocolate for them to drink or take home.
