Do you expect your cuddle buddy to leave you karma? Do you ask for it? Or does it not matter to you whether someone leave you a rating after a session?
I don't ask for karma, and never expect it. I'm certainly grateful when someone leaves karma for me of their own accord.
When it comes to leaving karma, I only leave five star karma, or otherwise nothing at all. The only exception would be if someone did something particularly egregious - but that hasn't happened for me thus far.
I learned this the other day from my employer - if someone calls HR for a background check, they will only verify my job title and dates of employment. Nothing else. If I was a glowing employee, good on me, but they won't mention a peep about it. Similarly if I got fired, they won't say that, or why. It's a policy they settled on after much legal advice.
I think it's a smart way to treat karma as well. It's more of an invitation for someone to contact me if they want the details about karma I left. Or vice versa.
Honestly, and maybe I say this just because I’m lazy, I think Karma should only be given when someone has met or had a cuddle experience IRL. I can tell for myself from chatting, reading posts and someone’s profile if they seem like good people. So I don’t want to read through a lot of Karma from people having a good text experiences with someone (especially a pro.) What really matters to me is this: what is your first hand in person experience with this person?
@ShaneMTB per the rules, karma should only be left after two parties have actually met. There may or may not have been an actual session, but having met is a requirement, afaik.
@CuddlesByDeep thank you! See there’s my laziness: I didn’t re-read the rules of Karma before posting. But I have noticed especially with new pros what appears to be encouraging friends leaving good karma. I get it if the admins don’t police this. Goodness knows they have a lot of work to do.
@Gabriel2k Karma isn’t expected but appreciated.
I do ask for people if they're comfortable to leave an honest review of how they felt the session went. So when people who come to my page they can see how others felt with me or where I could improve. Not everyone wants to leave karma, and that is okay. I never push, but I do ask.
@CuddlesByDeep That thing about HR goes way back. I was told that at one of my jobs in the early '90s. Companies don't want to risk saying anything that someone could later say impeded their ability to get another job, because of the fear of lawsuits. (That raises an interesting question -- could a pro sue over bad karma if they felt it hurt their future earnings?)
At the end of a (good) session, I usually say something along the lines of, "If you enjoyed your experience, please consider leaving karma and I'd be happy to do the same!" Karma can be very important so that others can vet you and get an idea for what the session will be like.
@WriterGF I don't know, though I imagine a pro can make such a case. I've decided it's best to leave only two types of five star karma 1) with glowing praise, or 2) neutral comments only.
Fortunately, I've only had good experiences with pros on this site so far, and only had to leave the first type of karma.
If someone wants to contact me privately about details of karma I left, I'll talk with them.
But I may talk in code if it is warranted: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003L203DI
At the end of a snuggle, I always ask as long as I’m not crossing a line. I also ask if they’re ok with me leaving one for them as well. I’ve had a good handful decline, but for the most part, my cuddlers were more than happy to give and receive. I get noticed a lot more and recognized in Florida as a top cuddler because of my karma and how long I’ve been here. And having that karma, and leaving some for my cuddler makes it easier for other pros to message me asking me what I loved most about my time with the cuddler. 🌸 Depending on how different the karma is, it leaves an idea to prospective cuddlers what a session with me is like.
I am big on words of affirmation and love when people take their time to express appreciation or otherwise communicate they had a great experience with me. Many clients don’t leave karma and I respect that. Always appreciated but never expected. I love leaving karma as well.
@ShaneMTB I can understand having to weed through karma might be tedious when we are looking to determine what a connection or cuddle experience with that person may be like. I always advise folks to take karma with a grain of salt because every experience is organically different. Beyond that many people don’t leave karma so lack of karma may not be an indication of the reputation of the person whose profile you are viewing. Loads of karma is not a solid indicator either, though at least hopefully it can speak to your professionalism, personality, what ever may apply.
✌️😊
Leaving Karma is in the hands of the writer, and therefore it's not ok to expect it. If somebody leaves nice Karma for you, that's a bonus.
Asking for good Karma, or 'trading' Karma, is not allowed. Obviously.
However, saying something along the lines mentioned by @bekah_cuddles above is absolutely fine. In general it is good practice to discuss leaving Karma before doing it - some people prefer not to receive Karma.
Karma isn't policed directly by the mods, it's policed by the community. That means us. If you encounter something suspicious, Report it.
@Nature_Lover_ I feel you on the communication via expression part. I find it important to me as well.
As a new pro, karma has been very helpful as a tool for peer review through all the bread crumb dms. You can tell a lot from between the words, i.e., I have sensed drama in short karmas, and red flags in 5 star ones. I am a fan of that light reading.
This website doesn't display the gold star on our profiles on the search page, till 5 karmas have been filled. The rating system exists for a reason. Anyone who strives to perform with excellence has the need to be acknowledged, so I'd kindly request a feedback when I know I've delivered stellar experience. Most clients didn't make time for that, but I really appreciated those ones who did that to help me grow. It's good for my confidence as a newbie, and that gold star adds extra aesthetic...until recently someone reneged my hard earned 5th comment due to I refused to date him after 1 sesh, but that's a whole other topic lol
