Profile Pictures not matching the person.

  • I try to keep my pictures recently updated, but I’ve gotten a lot of clients who say that I look better in person than I do in my pictures. This being a platonic site I feel as though looks shouldn’t really matter as long as there’s some sense of trust between you and your cuddle buddy.

  • Regarding karma: No matter what, one should always take appropriate precautions. Think of karma as a testimonial. Are testimonials always reliable? No. One would hope that the karma left - especially by pros - would be reliable but that isn’t always the case. And someone’s past behavior doesn’t always predict their future behavior.

Just a few days ago I had a situation where an enthusiast left 5 star karma for a pro before they found out the pro had reported them. Once the enthusiast received a warning, they changed the pro’s karma to one star in what was obvious retaliation. More than once we’ve encountered situations where both pros and enthusiasts have given 5 star karma to an individual and then later learned that the person, in fact, was pushy about boundaries. Why do people do that? I don’t know. Sometimes people - especially women - can have a delayed reaction about inappropriate behavior. It’s a kind of protective mechanism. Sometimes people are afraid that if they leave bad karma the other person will retaliate and leave them bad karma. This is not an irrational fear. There are also members who will be perfectly fine with some folks and, for reasons known only to them, get inappropriate with someone else. And there have been clients who will behave the first session or two with a pro and then start getting pushy about boundaries, perhaps as they got more comfortable with them and thought they could get away with pushing boundaries.

Bottom line: I think most karma is probably genuine but it does not matter how much good karma a person has, it’s never a guarantee. Always take appropriate precautions.

I might use this selfie from 2013:

    and show up looking like:

    (I won't really. Maybe.)

(Photos removed. Did not want them to remain on the forum forever.)

@MaineCuddle hold up. My maths sucks, but you were.... 40 in that first photo? You look about 15 😳

  • I don’t know if that has been mentioned yet but I’m curious why someone contacted @Sweetcuddler82 when the OP never said it was her and didn’t say anything shaming women. Isn’t that basically starting drama? I can see if he specifically would have said it was her or said something horribly bad.

  • @Morpheus: Did someone contact her? I thought she found the thread on her own.

Either way, I agree that the original post looked fine on its own. Curiosity about how current or glammed up most profile pics are here, on average—that seems perfectly normal. I think that question was adequately answered: most people are going to use their favorite pictures of themselves, and most of those favored pics are going to be at least a little different from the real life, 3D original. And that's fine.

This holds true for people of all genders, as the OP tacitly acknowledged by not singling out any one gender in particular... but yeah, rightly or wrongly, pretty much everybody immediately concluded he was talking about women.

And then the personal attacks started, and geez, that was uncalled for. Frankly, it looked to me like @Sweetcuddler82 started all the drama on her own.

  • @DaringSprinter yes she says in one of her comments that she was messaged about this thread

I share my pics to those who care enough to message me. The oldest are about one year old, but I always include some that are very recent. I haven't had the pleasure of cuddling yet so I can't speak for others. Maybe my pictures scared them away😆🤣😂I was tempted to post, "This is ridiculous!" then include a pic of some Fabio model with shirt open and wind blowing in his hair. 🤣🤣🤣 I didn't believe women when they complimented me growing up and even in adulthood. My father made sure I didn't have a big opinion of myself. But I believe honesty is the best policy here on CC.

  • @Morpheus: Definitely pot-stirring, then—you nailed it.

    .

  • I was going to write a bit but I really don't feel like I can add anything on top of what everyone's already said. But maybe just a little.

I can't begin to put myself in the shoes of a woman who has to deal with people who don't understand that she's going to look differently than the pictures she posts online, especially with and without makeup, and to an even higher degree on a site where it should not matter. Cuddling for me (on top of the obvious need for physical safety) is about emotional vulnerability, so emotional connection or safety is what makes someone "attractive", not how they look.

I also am getting some heavy "well what was she wearing" vibes from anyone who thinks a pro should try excessively to not be attractive so that a client won't be attracted to them. That's how you get rape culture.

I'm not saying pros should show up in hot pink lipstick and heels, but I'm sure not going to try to be ugly so that no one thinks I'm pretty.

It's also honestly pretty insulting to the men who are kind, decent human beings but enjoy looking at attractive women. That doesn't make them monsters. Has anyone taken a human biology class?

  • I know many made points about this being a platonic site but when one is paying for a cuddling service, they’re wanting to snuggle up to the person they believe accurately represents their pictures. This isn’t a slight against women, as some have mentioned, it’s just the way paying for a service works. One great thing many have mentioned is to have zoom meetings prior to meeting to get an even better idea of who you will cuddle with.

One’s preference for a nice smile to look at while eating together, cuddling, and watching a show or movie doesn’t necessarily mean that they have other intentions aside from platonic

  • I agree completely. We can judge people all we want about being shallow, etc.. but as long as they obeying the rules it's certainly their right. Cuddling is a very up-close and intimate activity and if attraction results in someone having a good session vs a bad one so what? Maybe people like cuddling with taller people, bigger people, smaller people.. It's their session. And, to that end, when money is spent, it shouldn't be a misleading experience.

  • @Shake49 I knew it!!!!!!!! 😂😂😂

  • So this is definitely me, but I'll admit - I might decide to get rid of the mustache before my next session. I hope people recognize me without the mustache!

  • @Green_Eyes you're beautiful with or without the mustache! Either way, your hair is impressive 💜

  • [Deleted User]DeadGirlWalking (deleted user)

I kind of see things from both perspectives. I'm asexual, so I don't have any sexual attraction to anyone, no matter how 'good looking' or 'attractive' they are. I can, however, identify what looks pleasing to me and what doesn't, much like if I was looking at art or furniture, or a view.

I suppose the point is, that if you book into a hotel requesting and expecting a view of the sea, and you get a view of the street or a park instead, you'd likely be disappointed because its not what you were expecting. It's not that the view is fundamentally bad, but it's not what you chose when you booked.

This is another reason why I started the 'Unexpectedly Confident Selfies' thread- everyone has something appealing about them, and hiding behind filters is detrimental to everyone- it creates this society of falseness, where people don't even look like themselves, which means that other people have unrealistic expectations of what other humans look like, but even worse, that people miss out on each other's real beauty.

    @Green_Eyes I mustache you a question 🙋🏽‍♀️

  • I’ve been here for five years, and I’ve only met one cuddler that did not have accurate photos. Funny thing is we’ve had Multiple cuddles. In many cases I’ve found my partners to be more attractive in person than their profile photos. Perhaps it’s their great personality adding to the 2D photo.

  • @unclebuck I was surprised when I met you and you didn’t look like a blue and pink character 😂😂 threw me off

  • @Green_Eyes HAHAHA!!! You are too funny!!! We will have future cuddles mustache or now mustache! You can shave it for later lol

  • [Deleted User]simsaddict (deleted user)

I have a decent half and half with interest in cuddling me.
Some people request to cuddle me because they don’t want to be aroused and others request to cuddle me because they voice interest in cuddling an attractive person. I typically don’t find anyone attractive based on physical looks, personally.

My brain works differently, I guess. 😅

  • @simsaddict same here. I'm more drawn to energy and mind more than anything else, and repelled by glistening skin/muscles (which I've heard makes me a weirdo, but for me it's like, 'eww ~ get a towel and cover that up!') 🤷‍♀️

@simsaddict and @quixotic_life I understand and positive energy matters the most to me! I cuddle "Everyone" whether or not they are considered attractive(physically), if the positive energy/cuddling interests match.
