Last resort for cuddles

This site is pretty much my last resort to try to get cuddles from someone. I've just been so touch starved for such a long time and it's just poisoning me inside because all I want is just some bare minimum comforting touch and embrace from someone. If this doesn't work I'll just have to forget about ever wanting it in the first place and live without it. Just me letting this out. Don't feel obligated to reply.

    I can relate. I’ve been there. if I were you I would not give up. This is temporary. It might feel like it’ll last forever, but it’ll get better.

    @RaveHeart Have you considered hiring a pro? I was in your situation before and the best thing I did for myself is to get with a pro. In any case, sending you a hug if you would like one.

    Take a deep breath dear brother. I promise you are going to get through this.

    I spent a lot of my late 20s and early-mid 30s desperately lonely, wanting someone to hold onto to help save me from the worst of it. I felt like giving up on people, and at some of my lowest points I felt like giving up on myself.

    One day I decided I was going to crash if I didn’t do something different. So I started doing a daily journal of the people I met. The connections I made. The times and the places where I felt seen, and safe, and connected. And over time it helped. I found myself able to see and enjoy little connections more. Trying less to hold on to other more tightly than they wanted to be held (metaphorically, but sometimes physically too probably). And today the loneliness hasn’t gone away, but it’s not crushing me anymore.

    I say all of that to say, I made it to a better place. And I believe you will too. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

    A massage is a lot of touch and they are available in many cities at an office or your home or even a hotel with mobile services. Cuddling may be more popular than it used to but depending on your state it can be fairly time consuming to find a reliable person a reasonable distance from you. Ultimately you are more resilient than you think, and more able to generate your own contentment with any situation than you will ever know. The external world may be a consistent source of life satisfaction but it is not a cure for everything. Ask how you will feel while you do something, how you feel now, and how you feel when you desire that relief from undesirable feelings again. If you believe you will only be satisfied when you do that something, then that will be something you rely on ad infinitum. If you believe you are the source of your own contentment, then you will only be reliant on yourself and external circumstances will not shake you.
