Am I wrong for not willing to cuddle with an unvaccinated person?

[Deleted User]Emerald20772 (deleted user)

So to make a long story short, this guy messaged me asking me if I would cuddle with him if he’s unvaccinated. Keep in mind he is not willing to get the covid vaccine. I said that I wouldn’t feel safe cuddling with him even though I’m vaccinated because I’m high risk if I catch it. Plus O have a relative who died from it and another who almost died from it. Safety first.

  • You definitely have the right to message that choice.

  • You made the right call.

Taking the Covid vaccine lowers your odds of catching the virus considerably, but it doesn't make catching it impossible! Especially if you're sharing space with someone who can deliver a full viral load with each breath.

Death and disability aren't prizes you want to buy lottery tickets for if you can avoid it.

  • Vaccinated people spread Covid just the same as unvaccinated. Don't kid yourself into believing otherwise. The vaccine helps you not get sick. It does not prevent you from spreading covid. But you have every right to do what you want to do. It's your call.

Bottom line, if you're uncomfortable (for any reason), it won't be a good session.

@cuddleintexas: I'm happy to say your information is wrong.

Vaccines don't just help you not get sick—they also lower your viral load if you do catch it anyway, which makes the sickness less bad for you and helps you not spread it to others.

    Isn't that great?

It's your body, and it's entirely your choice who you allow to be that near to your body. If you don't feel safe or comfortable then it won't be a good session for either of you.

As an enthusiast, you can cuddle with whoever you want, and you don’t have to cuddle anyone for ANY reason. It’s all up to you who you decide to cuddle! Dont feel bad for making choices you’re safe with.

@sunnysideup Yes!! I’m with you 1000%!! It’s always up to you who you cuddle with and why you don’t cuddle with someone is no one’s business.

@cuddleintexas herd immunity WILL stop this virus. You know how we don’t have small pox anymore? You know how we don’t have to worry about polio anymore? We don’t have worry about small pox and polio because of their vaccines and because people were once willing to take care of others and listen to scientists and doctors who know more than you do.

  • @cuddleintexas

It does not prevent you from spreading covid.

This is true, but to state it baldly like that isn't entirely fair. Being vaccinated significantly reduces the risk of an infected person spreading covid. It also reduces the chance of a person becoming infected if exposed to the virus.

In other words a vaccinated person is less likely to have it, and less likely to spread it if they do.

  • I'm not anti vaxx. But, I'm not vaxxed. I've had and recovered from covid and I have strong antibodies.

That said, if I walk in someplace that is crowded or where other people are masked-up, I put on a fresh mask. I wash frequently.

I totally respect people who look after the health of themselves and others. If a person chooses to not be around me because of my vaxx status, it might be disappointing to me. But, completely understandable.

Respectfully, using a survey in this way is very, very, very devisive. This kind of over simplification shuts down discussion and more-easily leads to judgement.

    Peace and wellness.

  • You have the right to say no to anyone for any reason.

  • @Gallowglass @MDW
Well said, 100% agree with both of you.

I voted #2 … you have the right to cuddle & not cuddle anyone for whatever reasons you may have that are your own …

Reported. Reviewed. Removed for misinformation. @cuddles_ndream - you're welcome to your beliefs, but not to misinformation and misrepresentation of Covid facts regarding vaccines, immunizations, Fauci, masks, pharma, FDA approval, etc. You stated your opinion and vote to the OP's question. Please do not post further on this thread. [-Sid]

  • There is a difference between carrying a full load of virus and carrying a reduced load of virus.

Because a vaccinated person's immune system is better at eliminating the disease, it A takes more germs to create an internal germ colony, and B if the invaders do manage to colonize, there'll be fewer of them on account of they'll be under constant well-trained attack.

The vaccine doesn't kill Covid-19, it trains your internal army in how best to do the job.

A vaccinated person's immune system can still fail to beat off the invaders if there are too many of them. A vaccinated person can still carry a small raiding party in their nasal passages. Their systems are stronger, not all-powerful.

The vaccine does not make you Covid Superman.

If you have to gamble, it's better to get breathed on by somebody carrying a handful of germs than by someone carrying a whole barrel.

  • The assumption that a vaccine reduces your viral load while infected is actually incorrect.

Whether it’s a breakthrough infection or an unvaccinated person with COVID, the the viral load is practically the same, so precautionary measures should be taken regardless.

As to the original question, you’re not obligated to cuddle with anyone if you chose not to do so.

    Totally your choice.

  • @cuddles_ndream

I would love to see proof that Dr. Fauci said, “…it is irrelevant if the other person is vaccinated or not should you be vaccinated, it would be the same difference…”

Hopefully his words make more sense than how you choose to word it.

Also go look up what herd immunity is.

  • Locking this up.

Vaccinated? Not vaccinated? Mask? No mask? Hate Fauci? Like Fauci? All personal choices, and anyone's beliefs are not going to change yours.

    Cuddle on.
