Halloween: Whatcha Doin?

[Deleted User]chococuddles (deleted user)

I'm just staying home to hand out candy on the sidewalk to everyone. Costume or no costume.

I used to dislike getting the cheap crappy candy (I dress up and you give me worm cheese??) when I was younger so I always give out the stuff I love. Twix, Snickers, Skittles, M&Ms and Milky Way.

Might wear cat ears.

Amazing experience last year. I had just been diagnosed T2D and no candy was really on my menu plan, but I knew bringing chocolate bars into the house would be pure suicide. So I got a variety of fruit snacks- gummies and roll-ups- instead. Not one kid complained, but at least three different kids said along the line of “Cool! Finally something Mom will let me eat.” Kids have changed.

  • Turning 32.
I was a Halloween baby and my birthday parties as a kid were always the best. Now I usually don't party. I just hang out at home and enjoy the peace.

I think I might dress up as The Undertaker again, as I did a few years back. I do own the basics as it comes to necessary accessories. Don't be too spooked since I'm trying to look intentionally grim. ;) A group of friends are hosting a grown-up Halloween gathering that I am going to try to attend, barring potential schedule changes.

  • Gonna stay home, pass out candy, and be with family, play cards and enjoy some vegan halloween themed desserts and foods :D

  • I leave on a 10 day singles cruise in the western Caribbean on Halloween.

  • Probably the same as @Brandi, stay home and pass out candy to the kids. While I chill with my friends for the majority of the time.

  • I have to work on Halloween night, but we all dress up in a theme. This year we are doing Disney characters. One of the ladies I work with all day is going to be Bambi and I'm going as Thumper. I didn't think I could do the princess dress for 10 hours.

  • I'm in Australia. I won't be partaking!

  • I'll be home scaring the living poop out of any kid who dares set foot on my property. :D

  • I'll be answering the door for trick or treaters. And though I've had blood sugar issues, I don't eat the candy. Whatever's left gets donated to the university karate class I'll go to Wednesday night.

I live in the countryside so no trick or treaters will bother coming out this far. I might buy a small bag of candy anyway though. I've never been a scary movie person - I find them boring - so I'll probably watch my favorite movies.

  • I am taking a lantern, removing the glass panels, and replacing them with my panels. I want to do images from Nightmare Before Christmas. When I'm done next weekend, I'll send it to my friend as a gift - he and his family are so totally into Halloween.

I am going to the beach to howl at the moon! Camping, bonfire, mycology, and friends!

  • @SugarMagnolia: One of these things is not like the others. Camping, bonfire, the study of fungus, and friends? Or is there another definition of mycology ? ;-)

  • [Deleted User]SugarMagnolia (deleted user)

@quietman- the beach is full of mushrooms out here this time of year! They all go together in my book especially on nights where the veil is very thin

  • I think I may have an idea of the type of mycology that goes well with howling at the moon

  • Ah, straight-laced me didn't get it.
