Is Cuddling dying?

  • Business has been booking for me as well. Not going to lie it is hard as a male pro and most of the responses have been spot on with reasons why cuddling can be slow. I think for the true cuddlers out there and once you find them it can be really nice. Problem is there are some bad apples out there but the site admin is really good about weeding them out. When looking for a cuddle partner look at how long they have been doing it, karma, and their about me sections.
Myself personally I enjoy it. I don’t charge anything additional unless it is something that has to come out of my pocket.

@Catloaf YES. I brought this up on another thread, very prominent pro cuddlers/cuddler trainers who work as movie/TV sex scene consultant, sex surrogate, sensual cuddle party facilitator...

Not responding to the OP because the rate argument is a broken record and so is my rebuttal.

  • Squeee!! @Catloaf ~ Seeing your name made me smile so big!! 😁
Though you and your forum contributions have been missed, I hope your day jobbing has been going well. 💓

I read all the responses. We all have our opinions. We all don't have to agree. There were some very good points made. However, 2 points I would like to respond to are just because someone charges a higher price doesn't mean they have a quality product. I know from experience. And just because they are charging a high price does not mean they are getting it.

There are some very good pro cuddlers who have kept their prices down who deliver a quality product. Example @Rezz Again, my original comment was my personal observations and opinion. And I have been on the site for over 3 years.

  • Seems like it’s dying in Oklahoma. Almost everyone I’ve ever talked to on here doesn’t have an account anymore, or they haven’t been on in over a year. Search results find no recently active cuddle enthusiasts within 80 miles and I live in a large city. Aside from 1-2 male cuddlers who weren’t a good match.

Are enthusiasts a dying breed since paid cuddling rates have gotten so high? Did COVID play a role? Maybe it’s dying in some areas, but flourishing in others?

  • My first six or seven months on this website were the amazing. Then the pandemic happened in March 2020 end ever since business has not been the same. I’ve put in a ton of work to improve myself and my business as a whole since then. Lately I’ve been getting a lot of local visitors to my page but not a lot are reaching out. My initial sticker price is on the higher side for my area but I also really good multi hour discounts. So I’m guessing it’s the fact that I list my code of conduct on my profile and I don’t accept any sort of clothing requests that’s turning people away.
There’s also been a lot of economic anxiety which I’m sure isn’t helping. I’ve had to put a lot of time into marketing myself elsewhere because I’m just not getting enough new clients from here these days. I don’t think Cuddling is dying but I do think this website is oversaturated at least in my area and that there needs to be more marketing to bring in more clients and just to educate the public about what Cuddle therapy is and to de stigmatized it. I remember one day I counted the number of nonpro accounts versus the number of pro accounts in my area that had been active within the last week or so and it was only one more non-pro compared to pros but this was during the holidays/peak of Omicron so probably not the best time to judge the overall situation.
I also do this full-time and have a lot of overhead so my goals are probably higher than most. For example this week I only have three clients which is what I would consider an extremely bad week but for someone with a day job, three clients may seem like an amazing week. At my peak I was seeing 7 to 12 clients a week.

I am one of those people that reads profiles and has not reached out. For me it is not due to your guidelines. I have had a few accounts on here, and without going into typing a super long response. I have met with two women from this website.

On my first visit with someone there was nudity in terms of a very loose fitting nightgown being worn and being able to see her breasts.

The second person felt like she was in a strange situation. Again, I am not going into all of it here, but I felt like she had someone overseeing her, like a pimp, and she was in an uncomfortable situation. I wanted to leave, but I felt like not playing along would have been unsafe for me. Nothing sexual happened, but I felt like she may have, against her will, be trying to see if it was ok leading things that way.

I have tried to contact non-pros, but no one replies back, and I am ok with that. I don’t feel like I am owed or entitled anything.

I browse the website looking to see if I feel ok enough to book another session with someone else.

I actually have thought that your profile seems like one I would be ok with contacting. And you posted that tictok video in another thread. Actually seeing someone talk helps get a clue as to what type of vibe someone puts off.

That reminds me. There was a third woman I was thinking of contacting, until I saw her in a YouTube video or something that she streamed. She was mentally not well. She needs help. Maybe she got the help, but I couldn’t contact her after seeing the video.

    @xandriarain

I should also mention, and this is not mentioned in a disparaging manner, that with the prices of everything getting out of control it is more difficult to schedule this sort of thing. To get to your town I would need to drive a couple hours on the Turnpike. The gas, turnpike fee, and hourly fees are factored together.

Comment flagged, reviewed, and removed. @MortMortensen - this is not a warning. I am clarying that your comment is deemed inappropriate in that what you suggested is not something we would encourage here. [-Sid]

@MortMortensen so from what I gather there are too many bad eggs on here and that makes the rest of us look bad and makes clients more hesitant to reach out. By the way, if you see a video of me crying and looking unstable it's a joke so make sure to watch it until the end.

Also, I wouldn't consider you local, I am talking about people who live within an hour-ish of me based on their stated location. It's understandable that you wouldn't book right away if you live two hours away.

I don’t think some people are aware how many pros are not taking this seriously. That has been my first experience.

    A short recap for people

    1. My first experience was with a woman wearing a nightgown that showed her breasts. She didn’t even need to lean over. Her nipple was out. At one point she was holding my hand and then placed it right on her breast as she let go with her hand.

    2. My second experience felt like the woman was scared of a pimp type of guy that was in the building. She seemed intimidated by him. I was actually worried about my safety if I were to leave, because I thought the pimp type guy might get worried about me. The woman was nice but seemed uncomfortable with the guy.

While cuddling she kept holding my hand and pulling the back of it up against her breast. She had no bra on under a tank top, and I could feel her nipple poking my hand every time she did that. I felt like she was maybe trying to initiate more than that to make extra money for the pimp type guy in the building.

    1. The third person that I did not cuddle mentioned, in a video I saw on FACEBOOK, seemed mentally unwell and mentioned men only wanting to pay her for her body.

    2. In my attempts at vetting pro cuddlers I have easily without doing any hard searching found nude pics or videos of 3 or 4 cuddlers on this site. One of them is even in this thread. And I’m not judging or arguing against it, but it makes me wary to use this site.

In the even that anyone (Pro or client or enthusiast) is reported for offsite links/pages/adult content, they are generally warned at a minimum, up to removal from the site. Links/pages/adult references in profiles will get the boot, immediately. CC does not condone, nor cannot enforce adult, offsite content - but we are diligent about keeping it off here. [-Sid]

    1. Here is a new one I did not even mention. A new cuddler on this site posted something in her profile I was not familiar with, but she said she was comfortable doing. I googled it to learn what it was. It turns out it was some fetish thing not for this site,

Report them, @MortMortensen . Thanks. [-Sid]

  • @MortMortensen I am sorry you’ve had these experiences. My suggestion to you is always to do a video chat before hand and ask questions to make sure that they do take it seriously and you’re on the same page with boundaries. If you ever do book with me your experience would be very different from those other sessions. This work is my career and I take it very seriously. I dress modestly in cuddle sessIons and I Take my boundaries and the ethics of cuddle therapy very seriously. I also work in an office building which I think sets a different tone then meeting in a private setting like a home or a hotel

@MortMortensen please report your bad experiences and the cuddlers advertising with nudity. Your complaints are baseless if you let these pros continue to engage within the community.

    @SweetiSammi

The cuddler with the nude pic was not advertising it. I searched the username and stumbled across the pic in trying to see what the cuddler is like to try and vet cuddlers.

Also, most of the profiles I mentioned are no longer on the site. I do report stuff if I see it in a profile. I reported the curler after looking up the fetish thing. If she reads this she’ll know who did it. She was not banned, but that fetishized thing is gone from her profile.

  • Mort, you are saying what I’m saying. There is a lot of under table stuff going on, even with big name players, and it’s getting icky. Some of them are folks I once looked up to, who, now I’m convinced, may just be after their own fame, or maximizing their buck, and not after the work itself.

As for finding existing nudes of cuddlers on this site, given that a lot of people tend to take their usernames and handles to multiple sites, I’m not surprised. There are some who moved into this work without erasing or reducing the likelihood of finding evidence of a sexually-charged lifestyle or career.

The mods and community know I left that pond to be in this one and I’m so grateful I did because it’s healthier for me, and it’s work that makes me feel fulfilled at the heart level when I get to do it with someone who really needs it.

I wish others would respect this industry and decide which pond to be in as well, because I don’t think we will ever see sexually oriented services juxtapose against platonic ones in a way that is coherent to more people. And isn’t that our goal? To make people aware of what this actually is? To meet society and people where they’re at, and not where we’d hope them to be?

But so many do the opposite by mixing in ambiguous or sexual messaging or imagery. Not holding boundaries. The problem with not holding clear standards, and not moving towards a clinical approach is that we won’t reach nearly as many of the folks who really need this.

A boundary needs to be drawn between what we are and what we are not. Big names coming out about actively offering services that revolve around sexuality, or making efforts to move into those industries when you seemingly started as a cuddler, is not a boundary being drawn…it’s either people who were offering this all along, or they aren’t respectful enough to pick a lane and stay in it.

Sorry for my French. But I’m bleeding tired of witnessing it because it makes the rest of us look like we are on the same page or on the same trajectory. EVEN if these sexual services are separated, and your clients understand the difference, that does nothing to contribute to the general population’s understanding of the difference, because the same person offering both sends a mixed message.

    @xandriarain

I just remembered that I did have a positive experience. I did not get to cuddle with this pro, but I did meet her publicly a few years ago to get coffee.

She seemed nice and respectful. She is still on the site but travels a lot. She has a lot of positive karma, too.

My schedule never matched up with her schedule at first. Then COVID happened. I took a break from here. I see she is still here but, she travels a lot.

Even though I never got to schedule an appointment she seemed respectful. I check her profile once in a while to see if I can line up anything.

I have received messages from a couple of men asking me about the nude pic. I don’t want out this person. It wasn’t advertised here, and I wasn’t looking for a nude pic. I stumbled across it. It wasn’t advertised here.

All I am saying is for me that makes me feel apprehensive about reaching out to a pro cuddler.

One of the guys then went on to say other women in this thread are rumored to take clothing requests or cuddle naked.

Unwise. Every messaged instance will now be investigated over the next 24 hours. Expect warnings or incoming bans. [-Sid]

  • [Deleted User]ClubSamwiches (deleted user)

@MortMortensen please report these men looking for the nude pics. This is predatory behavior that shouldn’t be tolerated. You’re really stirring the pot by not taking any action.

  • [Deleted User]LolaCats (deleted user)

This thread is about is cuddling dying and now it’s kinda getting derailed…

  • edited March 2022

@MortMortensen I second what pro cuddler @SweetiSammi just said. Whoever female cuddlers you're referring to that's still on this site who's offering sexual services & the one with nude photo or nude video online needs to be reported with supporting attached photo or video as proof of your claim. You said that she's on this message thread & not a lot of us women are on this particular message thread. It makes people guessing who, pointing fingers at us & unnecessarily clicking on our profiles & assuming we are sex workers on the side which is not fair & puts us female cuddlers in physical danger. This is not the site for sex workers please.

  • edited March 2022

@CaringSoul I agree with your post. However someone doesn't have to click on the profile to search for possible sex workers. @MortMortensen said he does a web search by username to filter out possible sex workers. Others could do the same if they are looking if someone here is a possible sex worker.

Back to the thread topic. Some said they weren't getting as many sessions. It has probably been mentioned in this thread or another one that with sky rocketing inflation for necessities from gasoline and heating fuel to food and rent and everything else people making modest income or without substantial liquid assets might not have enough disposable cash to afford to pay to cuddle.

  • [Deleted User]Moxytocin (deleted user)

@snugbuddy She just meant that now everyone is checking out all of us women on this thread to try to figure out which one it is.

I agree for many people, this is a luxury and people are hanging onto their money for necessities right now.

  • @Moxytocin that's exactly what I meant & thank you for explaining that to @snugbuddy.

  • edited March 2022

I knew what you meant. You mentioned people clicking on profiles. I meant that according to what @MortMortensen said people wouldn't have to click on profiles. They would only have to search the Internet by username. Either way I understand your main point.

  • [Deleted User]ClubSamwiches (deleted user)

@snugbuddy I don’t understand why you insist on validating his words when clearly a handful of us have been unnecessarily exposed to predators. His reckless and ominous finger-pointing does nothing to protect our community and perpetuates the problem.

    Re-Bump and explanation.

Full disclosure, but I was traveling for work and had limited internet and even less time to moderate over the last 48 hours. I had closed this thread for the many many flags and reports using the available spotty wi-fi access that I had.

@MortMortensen - I apologize for the forum timeout. That you suggested users here on CC scour the internet for nude pics of Pros, and mentioning guys messaging you (sucks to be them, sadly) for said pictures or names did not sit well, given the flags your comments generated. You've been here a while, which I now see, but your comments generated enough buzz and suspicion that I placed a forum timeout to give myself time to sort these flags/reports out.

Everyone. CC is a platonic cuddling nexus of enthusiasts, Pros, and clients. Adult content is not welcome here. Anyone (Pro or client or enthusiast) can be reported for offsite links/pages/adult content. Depending on what we can verify, we give warnings up to removal from CC. Links/pages/adult references WITHIN profiles will earn an immediate boot. CC does not condone, nor cannot enforce adult, offsite content - but we are diligent about keeping it off here.

**I'll reopen this thread, but keep it on the OPs topic. **

    Much obliged.

  • @Sideon You are awesome! Thank you for all the hard work and other amazing qualities you bring to this community!♥️🤩🤗😎🎉

  • [Deleted User]MortMortensen (deleted user)

    @sideon

I never suggested people purposely search for that stuff, but I did mention I started doing to try and vet pros.

Then it was suggested that I am doing nothing to protect the cuddlers, but what cuddlers need to realize is I have the right to protect myself.

This is my second account and attempt at using this site. And this post is relevant to the OP’s original post. He asked if cuddling is dying. For me it has died, and I have explained why.

I actually looked at deleting my account, but the option wasn’t there. I can only mute or deactivate it.

  • [Deleted User]MortMortensen (deleted user)

The option to delete the account has been restored.
