@DaringSprinter I would like to play with that now. It would probably give me a good eye hand coordination skills🤣 It sure would be fun to get together and bring all toys and games from back in the day and have a big game party outdoors. We could play croquet, spud, kick the can, badminton, dodgeball. Slinky and silly putty. Twister you can tell I’m a child of the 70s

@KozyKim: One of the upsides of being raised the way I was—like being brought up in the 1950s some ways, in the '60s, '70s, and '80s others! I could probably still balance a hula hoop with a stick, keep it spinning as I chased it down the sidewalk.
I guess North Dakota would be perfect for a meetup like that: not much else to do around here. I haven't got the toys anymore, though—they all broke or got handed down. (Ten kids, you go through stuff.) Hmm. BYOT, maybe?
@DaringSprinter that’s a really good idea BYOT you know how much fun that would be to have a weekend like that in a big open space with lots of tables, blankets, and maybe fire pits in the evening. Tug-of-war and out door games. I think it sucks when you grow up and you can’t do those things anymore. They do have adult camps where you can do that stuff I might go to one this summer. @DaringSprinter We should try to meet there lol. We can get some ideas. What would we call it? Vintage game weekend? Sounds kind of lame. Can you think of a better name?
@KozyKim: If I were to make an event, I think I'd call it Come Outside And Play! Seems like somebody was always yelling that outside the window when Saturday rolled around.

Yeah those adult camps do you sound like fun, the only problem for me is I don’t drink and I don’t like to be around a bunch of drunks. It’s too bad that adult camps can’t be fun without drinking. I sound like a party pooper. But that’s the fun of it is like going back in our childhood and we didn’t drink back then. I found a adult camp for nerds. Where they have a lot of sci-fi and boardgames in all kinds of fun stuff.

@OhioMike I have a folding tape measure. It's the best way even today to make accurate inside measurements. I wanted to measure some cabinets for mounting pullout shelves and that tool couldn't be beat!

Yes, yes, and depends... are you talking about the couch or the plastic cover? Cause my grandparents have that exact couch in their house. There's actually two of them like that the other one is a 3 seat which is the one I slept on the last time I went to visit them. (My grandparents live like 400 miles so any time I visit I'm usually there for 2 weeks.) Never experienced the plastic cover though.
The plastic cover reminds me of those plastic bed sheets for little kids who still have night time accidents. Why would you just regularly have that on a couch like that?
@CuddleForDID: The plastic covers are supposed to be easier to clean. Very handy for your friendly neighborhood germaphobe. You also stick to them in summer. Hideous. It feels like strips of your skin are coming away (or that's how I remember it).

At least with 8-tracks, you could easily skip around to the next track. With cassettes, you could only Fast Forward. Cassettes were more portable and didn't have the warping issues that 8-tracks had.
