  • @SunsetSnuggles Sometimes I think we share a brain. I was just thinking all of your message and this has happened more than once. Lol.

I'm sorry this is off-topic. Carry on please.

  • okey dokey! grin, grin, grin....pretend i know how to do emojis

  • Yes I've definitely been there before. I have to say don't mind when people ask when I'm available.

It's when they just send a booking request without even saying hello. That kind of action is just completely transactional and very off putting. You would at least think you would want to chat about expectations and figure out things things like logistics 🤷‍♀️

Well, to begin with, the site really does encourage minimal interaction before booking.

And secondly, if you hire a professional cuddler you are paying someone for a service that is completely transactional.

In fact, the very definition of transaction, which is:

    Transaction:
    Noun transaction; plural noun: transactions

an instance of buying or selling something; a business deal.

But hey, we are what we are as a culture. Most people want it both ways, with a double portion of all of the good, and none of the bad.

  • I lack social skills... not proud of it just being honest.

Also, personally, I think "manners" are just ways for people to be fake nice. It's possible to have perfect manners and still be rude.

There's a movie that I can't remember the name of which kind of exaggerates this but having the movie's villain speak very well mannered, walking into a bank asking nicely for everyone to please drop to the floor and hand over all their money and valuables. And just before leaving after threatening and robbing everyone he says thank you and have a nice rest of your day.

Like I said it's highly exaggerated but I've experienced versions of this in real life where someone will speak nicely but their actions aren't at all as nice as how they talk. I think actions speak louder than words, and I see that all the time. The words aren't really necessary when someone is actually being honest.

Like you can tell when someone is just saying sorry but doesn't mean and when someone is actually sorry because there's more of an attempt made to correct the mistake. Even if they never actually say the word the fact that they tried to fix what they broke means more than if they had only said sorry.

Probably none of this matters on a place where all we have are our words but I still find the societal focus on what are most often empty meaningless words rather annoying. All that said, while I don't think it was "rude" I do think it was a little creepy. You should never try to set up a real life meeting with someone you met online as the first thing you ever say to them, that's a huge red flag for a catfish. This may be a site for platonic cuddling but this is also still the internet and it's not safe to just meet up with random strangers. You should always get to know someone first and find out if they even want to meet up before asking what their availability is. You avoided a potentially dangerous meet up by turning this person down which I think is far more important than weather or not they were being rude.
