Ugh….I hate it when you find a great quote and it is misspelled 🤬
“Speak, so that I may see you.”- Socrates
@Spud424 Me too. At least the quote drives a good message home.
Bashir: I can't believe you're not pressing charges.
Garak: Constable Odo and Captain Sisko expressed a similar concern, but really doctor, there was no harm done.
Bashir: They broke seven of your transverse ribs and fractured your clavicle.
Garak: Ah, but I got off several cutting remarks which no doubt did serious damage to their egos.
Bashir: Garak, this isn't funny.
Garak: I'm serious, doctor! Thanks to your administrations I'm almost completely healed but the damage I did to them will last a lifetime.

I was watching The Lincoln Lawyer and just heard this line: “You can’t recover until you know what you’re recovering from.” I thought that was a really good one.
They put this quote in Python official documentation.
"A Foolish Consistency is the Hobgoblin of Little Minds."
And you'd think you know what it means.
@DaringSprinter When I read the post above, I had to do it twice to see if it said "hogboblin". 🤭

“You can tell a bully from a leader by how they treat people who disagree with them.” - Miles K. Davis
Wow, @MissAdventurous. Powerful. 🥺
My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass."
"We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys."
- Harmon Killebrew
"Chocolate is good for the soul." ~ My boyfriend
@OhioMike Your father sounds cool. Loved Harmon Killebrew also.
Me: "I don't understand how guys can ride horses." 🐎 My boyfriend: "I totally understand how you don't understand." 😬
He's on a roll, today. 🤣
"To love what you do and feel that it matters --how could anything be more fun?"
-Katherine Graham
@JohnR1972 - a quote from the late great Benny Hill, lol. That’s a good one and it brings back memories of watching his show as a kid - and the Yakety Sax song, lol.
That second quote from Miles Davis is very insightful!
“Silence is often misunderstood, but it is never misquoted.” - author unknown
@JohnR1972 Most women do not appreciate Benny Hill because his schtick was rife with uninvited groping, lifting skirts and flashing women. It is cringeworthy at best when you watch it today. It isn’t right now and it wasn’t right then. Benny Hill is anti-consent humor.
If a bear poops in the woods but there is nobody to hear it, does it make a sound?
@MissAdventurous That’s a great quote and profound message.
Biggest fallacy of legal system in civilised societies is that ‘truth” has to be proved, so by default ‘untruth’ prevails.
