@Mike403 was correct in what he was saying but some don’t care to examine the whole story. The CDC put something up then took it down and that is not something unique with them as they did that with the fourth booster and the time span after the third. So his story as depicted by his links is plausible. He is just frustrated and he will be back.
As far as bullying, if you see it report it. Whining, patronizing and finger pointing only leads to paranoia, suspicion and division. Reporting is a solution, becoming forum cops is not. Forum cops on that thread, particularly ones that depicted Mike in a bad light are part of the problem. Pointing fingers indiscriminately at others is the same thing. You want a thread closed? Report it to the mods, don’t do it openly on the board as it leads to conflict. The infrastructure is there to police—use it properly.

I agree that bullying should be reported and I do, but it hasn't helped. I didn't know that asking for a thread to be closed openly was considered by the mods or owners as not de rigueur. It would appear that everyone that read this thread understood my good intention and it was solved quite nicely. I doubt that anyone worries about me fomenting division or any other negative thing.
@SunsetSnuggles I knew if you were reading the forum tonight you would want to comfort me. And comforted I was ! I liked all the symbolic hugs and Ioveable animals with a pancake on their head is a sure thing. I love cuddly animals and anything made out of flour. LOL.
I’ll take the bunny with the pancake on its head.
I’m sure @Mike403 will appreciate knowing he is missed. AND we all need breaks sometimes.
Breaks are a good thing.
Ahem.
And now I'm unbreaking.
@Sideon now THIS is worthy of it's own thread! Glad to see you just before I go to.bed old friend
@achetocuddle Anytime. 🦦
@Sideon Welcome back. 🤗

@achetocuddle I think you need to not take it so personally. If I was pointing you out I would tag you. That was a generalized post. I was mainly referring to the other thread where a couple of people demanded the thread be closed and it was not them that started the thread—Mike did. They were baiting and fanning the flames by doing that. I would add that if you believe someone is bullying or baiting and you feel compelled to say something, tell it to the offender. But that causes conflict too. That is why everyone is encouraged to use the flag this button on posts if you feel someone is breaking forum rules or TOS. That’s all. Airing dirty laundry openly only makes you enemies and creates a hostile forum because those people will be ready to pounce if given the opportunity. The people who have supported you before will do so again so the only thing you can gain are enemies. Handling it quietly through back channels is better for everyone.
I'll assume you know this from personal experience.
I think there is some wisdom in keeping people here at arm's length most of the time. I care about some people here. The atmosphere seems a little volatile though, and some time ago I got swept up into stupid drama that was humiliating and ugly, and I've learned to just drop in briefly without getting too deep in the muck. Maybe it's that we want to be vulnerable among other cuddlers but we still carry our egos and biases and opinions with us wherever we go. Weird.
@UCpaaHVg6u0 well said. Definitely am relating to what you said. 👍
@Sideon ~ 🦄🕺💓 ~ What big ol' cheesy grin I just got seeing your name!! Welcome home!! 🫂
@achetocuddle ~ I haven't seen the thread in question, but I agree with everyone else's sentiment, and your's.
As one who has been on both sides of the coin here, where I have seen some fairly egregious comments but am also aware that for some I too have made a few myself.... I really hope you (and those like you) keep your positivity and your open hearts. That you continue to ask questions rather than judge, and don't allow anyone to dull your shine!!
Although I'm glad I wasn't involved in the drama today, I'm sad to know by being absent I wasn't around to stand up to the bullying going on.
It's taken a while, but I'm starting to understand it's okay to judge a thread by it's title and not click on it. I have multiples now that are racking up the "new" to me comments and am just like... "meh... probably for the best" ~ And if nothing else, it's keeping me out of trouble.
Thank you for being good people!!
I agree with @OhioMike and @UCpaaHVg6u0 .
@quixotic_life Yes, I want to keep my positivity and shine and might not forum post for a while. I would want to leave cuddlecomfort as least no worse than I was before I joined.
Everyone has their own personal version for what they think the forums should be . There are so many different people with different personalities and interests, we can't expect to get upset when it doesn't turn out the way we want . For every thread about kittens and rainbows, there are going to be ones about more serious topics and sometimes debate will happen. Debate in fine. Many of us would hate a forum that has thread after thread of posts about what they eat for breakfast , and how many sheep do they count before they nap. Sometimes, however, this turns into arguing and name calling and posturing. I'm guilty of having done that at times, and I'm sure I'll do it again, even though I know how tacky and self centered and childish it is . While I will say some of us could use some thicker skin and better coping skills,.and can be quick to play the victim card , there are many of us, myself included, who could benefit from taking a.step back and asking ourselves for what benefit and purpose do we serve by posting some of the things we post. Especially when it gets perosnal and confrontational in tone .
@pmvines ~ 🤗 I just adore you!! 🥰
I'm out.
@pmvines You are a wise man. Thanks for those appropriate words.
Closing thread at the OP's request.
