@cuddles_ndream - Have you seen the price of Teslas? Even a used one will run you around $60k.
@Mike403 Nissan Leaf - starts at $27,400 & can go as low as $19,900 after federal & state incentives & that’s for brand new.
@cylee1180 yeah you can really date yourself talking about gas prices lol.
In my experiences fuel was @ 50 -60 cents in 1970s around here. But keep in mind cars got like 12 mpg back then !
1980s was first time I saw 1.00 $ plus fuel And I didn’t see $2.00 plus gas till early 2000s
2008 was $4 .00 / gallon and that rocked the universe around here and elsewhere !!!
@OhioMike - 2008 had cheap houses/condos. My mortgage payment is $300 per month.
@Mike403 That’s impressive! 👍
@OhioMike - $48k total for a 750sqft condo in Aurora, CO which was the most expensive one I looked at then. All the others were around $30k.
@OhioMike thanks for visit on memory lane. Lol. Gas went up to $4 in Maryland around 2010 but went back to $2ish after a while.
I feel bad for the guy who Made the mistake. He may have to pay back the $16000 loss. I hope people Come back and pay
@sillylilly the guy raised the money plus more & the owner didn’t want it.
Well I guess he and write the loss off of his income taxes.
this story keeps getting coverage (though minimal on content lol) here in Ohio .
Read today a quote from the fired manager's sister that it was a 'glitch that the station was unable to stop for 3 hours" that caused this. So another question comes up no reporter has asked or published, why didn't they just hit the pump stop button for emergencies ?
Are you local California folks getting any better coverage. I am way to fascinated with this story , I know. 😆
@OhioMike So true!!! Why didn’t they just stop selling if they knew there was a glitch to begin with which caused the station to lose money per each gallon?🤔 it makes sense now that the owner said the story out there wasn’t fully transparent after refusing the money … gonna see what I find after I finish my Doritos research.
@cuddles_ndream big Friday night for you and me. Researching Doritos and 69 cent gas. Stay classy brother! 😂
@cuddles_ndream LOL.
I'm glad for the extra info on this story. Hopefully one outcome of this will be people critically thinking about the news instead of assuming it is always factual. I'm sorry if this upsets anyone that thinks the media is golden, I really am.
Has any reporter asked the gas station manager if the .69 a gallon was a Freudian slip? That’s what I really want to know.
@FunCartel lol yeah out of all the numbers, my mind went there for a sec!
another quote was that the station manager doesn't blame the people who took the incorrect priced gas, that he would have done that also.
@OhioMike Aww, what a kind, generous attitude on the station manager's part. He certainly doesn't have to say that or feel that way.
While all my friends are out bar hopping & living the dream this Friday night, I decided to do much needed research for the betterment of society @OhioMike we are setting the example for generations to come 🍻 😎
@achetocuddle 😉 💯
@cuddles_ndream Thank you for the update! While the station manager's remark was kind (and perhaps he was thinking about personal publicity also) I will have to refrain from future nice remarks about him. Of course, like all news, who knows if this is true? Certainly sounds plausible tho.
@cuddles_ndream thanks for updates! the plot does thicken!!!
@achetocuddle @OhioMike thanks! It seems like the 28th is the deadline for people to submit a refund request for the GoFundMe… after this date he can keep whatever is left. I wonder what will happen after this date since the media will most likely announce that the manager was able to keep whatever such amount was left over …let’s see (I swear I would so watch this movie 🎥 lol)
@cuddles_ndream what a twist that money raised for company re-imbursement, is now his to keep. Didn't see that coming.
The great Freudian Slip conspiracy continues—.69 gas with thousands of dollars from gofundme = hookers and cocaine. Sounds like an episode of Lowered Expectations.
@FunCartel it really has some good story lines. 😊
@OhioMike It also sounds like a litigation attorney feeding frenzy is probably occurring beneath the surface.
I guess yes. Because I never look at the price anyway and just add gas. Then I might wonder why there was less gas given or more than usual as I start driving. So either way I just won't notice the price. However, there is a gas station that is fairly new and doing $1.85 gas only. In case anyone does look at the prices before getting gas.
I am cheap. I use GasBuddy to find the cheapest gas and Upside if I'm near the one place in my area that participates with that app, and scan all of my receipts in Fetch for points. Lol I definitely notice gas prices and would've bought the .69 gas as long as pumps were on and they were selling it. 🤷♀️
@FunCartel I concur! 👍
I wonder if these gas prices have made people considered getting an EV, who might have not consider it before…
@cuddles_ndream more than likely I’d imagine.
I wonder if govt is looking at raising/lowering electric usage tax on EV
