Probably no amount of money. A lifetime of not being really happy doesn't have a price. Then again you could tempt me with an amount of money that would make UBI available in perpetuity across the globe and make food free for everyone. Why should we have to pay for food anyway? Somebody crunch those numbers and you might have a deal.
I would take the money, even thou I like to cuddle.
Yes. Catch me in between paychecks and I might even do it for wet food stamps.
Thank you to those who played along with your imagination in this fictitious scenario and kept it simple. I wasn’t expecting people to ask so many questions or contact their accountant. Lol However, I do appreciate each and every contribution to discussion.
I don't care. I just want to cuddle.
It would be very difficult but I would for 25 million. I dnt think 1 million would be enough to provide a good life for my two kids. 25 million I believe should be enough. Cuddling to me is usually self gratification in my circle unfortunately lol Time moves on and in the end, cuddles dnt send babies/kids to college or buy them food and clothes or shelter them or afford them nice vacations to disney world. A quick cell phone pic of a hug will last forever and memories in those whom I love will last them for a while. So "I" would suffer to provide, as they become older and have responsibilities of their own , I think they would understand I would Hug them through out the day in lieu of cuddles and take them wherever they wanted to go and let them have ice cream after visiting the Zoo after stepping out of the Bugati
@Toshibazen That was thought out and very sweet.
@RaindropSweetie My Babies are my life! one is 5 and one is 2, kinda my only true joy in this world atm. Takes a sweet person to see a sweet person consider yourself cuddled tehe
A professional cuddler mentioned paying it forward by providing cuddle sessions for those in need. Basically, they'll pay another professional cuddler to do the job. However, doesn't that contradict the concept of choosing to be a professional who charges people? I could understand a non-professional making that statement, but this doesn't make sense to me.
For example, imagine someone finishing their meal at a restaurant and has a ton of food leftover. Then, prior to being asked about a to-go box (doggy bag), they notice a starving homeless person right outside. The waiter comes back and offers to wrap-up leftovers, but the person politely declines. Then a friend who is there, mentions giving the food to the homeless man. However, person replies with "No, I have a better idea because I really want to help the starving man too. When we get back home in a couple of hours, I'll call up another restaurant and have them deliver an entire meal to the homeless man. Doesn't that make more sense then giving him my leftovers that are just warm at this point?"
Anyone else see the correlation with food example and why it seems contradictory?
@luv2cudl2 It is called pro bono work. Very common in many professional jobs—lawyers, healthcare workers and others do it all the time.
It would be lonely- but let’s be honest I have my dog, and could buys some really nice pillows ☺️☺️
Physical touch is more of a need for me than indulgence. It would be like someone asking me if I could stop eating for 1million dollars. Having a million dollars sounds great, but it would be dumb to accept the proposal because I would ne miserable as a result. So no.
@catnapper there went your leverage : o
How many of you guys would take a million dollars to cuddle another guy tip to tip every week for the rest of your life?
@FunCartel: I still think it's weird that "guys" is gender-neutral, but "guy" invariably means "man."
...Anyway, to answer the question: I'd take it. I wouldn't even have to search for someone I trusted and was comfortable with—I've got brothers. If the cuddle lasted much longer than 20 minutes each time, though, I might start suffering book withdrawal. Tough to read in that particular position.
I would just do what every marketing person in the world does and change the definition of the word cuddle to meet my needs
@DarrenWalker I admit to being ignorant when it comes to genders but that's because it seems very complicated. Howeber, regarding your comment on "guy" vs "guys" (had no idea btw), who ultimately decides this type of information?
@luv2cudl2: You mean who decides what the words "guys" and "guy" mean? General usage. Enough people use a word a certain way for long enough, the definition changes. Kind of annoying, but that's how it works, so.... [shrug]
Language is always ruthless, and rarely ruthful...
Lack of touch is detrimental... so accepting the money and never cuddling again? that would lead to a shorter life span. Yikes.
If I could see the future and see that 1 million would be enough for me to retire without hyperinflation or societal collapse turning that money into a meaningless sum where I would choose to live - then yes, I would take the 1 million.
I'd take the money in a sec. Already lived plenty if my life without cuddles. As least now I'd be rich with no touch
One Million dollars is not a lot of money.
A more interesting question is one million dollars to have HIV. Everyone would take the million to not cuddle, and hope they were not caught cuddling later.
Is that before taxes or after taxes? 🤔
Assuming you mean cuddling a human I would take the million. You can still give and take affection involving touch but not a cuddle.
The question reminds me very much of an old joke. A man and a woman, who have never met before, are standing and talking at a fancy cocktail party. At one points, he asks:
He "Would you go to bed with me for $1,000,000" She "Hmm, that's a lot of money. I think that I would." He "How about if I only offered $10,000?" She "That's still a lot of money. I guess that I would." He "Okay, how about $100?" She "WHAT? 100$? WHAT DO YOU THINK I AM?" He "We've already settled that. Now were just haggling over the price."
When it comes to a hypothetical question like that, it isn't the amount of money that's the the significant issue.
Definitely! Give me that milli il put it all on bitcoin
@Eduardobel - Have you seen what's happened to the price of bitcoin in the last week?
@GreatHornedOwl bear markets / bull markets- all part of the game … the opportunities are in the bears markets not the bulls.
