Planning a cross country road trip end of August. All the way to California, up to Oregon and then back east.

I like to cozy up on the sofa watching movies anytime, but also enjoy getting out and doing things like trying new restaurants, walking or playing sports. Also love an occasional road trip or just flying to Europe on a whim.
I would like to go on more road trips, perhaps some European/Asian vacations. My closest friends are still working or have families. So if anyone is in the same boat and would rather not travel alone, talk to me.
I am a semi retired former fed employee who qualified for pension and got out at 50. Now I rent rooms in my two houses to older (grad/phd) students.

I chose agnostic for my religion but if I'm being honest, I do not have a solid understanding of the definition of agnostic, and don't really care enough to research it as labeling myself has never been important. I only really think of a label for my religion when a profile form asks me to choose something. But here is it briefly, I don't believe there is a higher power. I can't claim to know exactly how we got here or how to explain amazing things like a beating heart. I'm ok with not having the answers. I would like them, but I never felt the need to attribute them to "god" just so I'd think I have an answer. I do, however, think religion is a good thing for those who need that as a guiding light in order to be decent to other people. I was forced to go to sunday school, and church (Lutheran), then went to catholic middle and high schools, so I've had my fair share of exposure. I just got to the point where I started doing my own thinking and decided nope, this is all just another fairy tale made up by clever people long ago in an attempt to keep people in line. And that's what I believe. That's my "faith". But who knows really? If we knew it wouldn't be called faith, it would be called knowledge.
All that said, I actually do go to church lol. Well, not inside the chapel. I volunteer with Food for Others here in Fairfax and it just happens we meet at a church and pretty much everyone else on the team are devout catholic church goers. Always trying to get me to come to services. I smile and say "you can give that up any time now". But we take food donated by supermarkets and take it to a couple of low income housing complexes in Burke. I had contacted the county to see what kinds of volunteers they needed and that's where then sent me....so yeah.
I would like to adopt 1-3 children, but really don't want to do it as a single man. Hoping to find a partner in life to do this, and to give an orphan or unwanted child the break in life they wait for every day.
Note to scammers: Believe me when I say, no matter how nice a conversation we have, I will never, under any circumstances whatsoever, send money to someone I have not met and spent time with in person. And while I do enjoy wasting your time sending you to the Western Union office to get f&$%all, there are just so many of you. So please just move on. Thank youuuuuu! : )
