@LUVS2CUDDLEWITH That person should be exposed and avoided.

Spreading COVID misinformation not allowed. - Babichev

@dave31415 When you say something that closely echoes conservative bullshit with no references, it's not rude to call that misinformation. It's being truthful. Especially since the article you did link later says that vaccines do help prevent the spread of covid, despite your claims otherwise. Even the headline says that. So yes, still misinformation.

For the record, the issue is not whether a comment reflects “conservative” or “liberal” political points of view but whether it accurately reflects current scientific evidence or distorts it. COVID misinformation is not tolerated in the forums. - Babichev

  • @August1 I wonder why your YouTube video is not available?

Warning: any further posting of COVID misinformation/disinformation will land you in forum time out. - Babichev

  • @LUVS2CUDDLEWITH - since you actually did meet this person you could, if you wish, leave them karma and state that this happened to you. It would warn others. That was incredibly inconsiderate of them. Deal breakers should always be mentioned before meeting.

The problem is that the virus is evolving. How many different Covid variants and subvariants are there now?

You can't just say "the vaccine" (because there are multiple Covid vaccines) is or isn't effective in whatever way against "the Covid virus" (because there are multiple Covid variants now).

I may never understand people who think it's dishonest to change your stance when situations evolve or you get new, more accurate information.

    Oh well.

  • All - COVID misinformation is not tolerated in the forums and will be removed. Posting COVID or vaccine misinformation will lead to forum timeout. Please keep your comments respectful whether you agree or not. Stay on topic. Failure to follow these guidelines will lead to the thread being closed.

@melissa_em he did provide a link...whether or not the information was sound is beyond me but nothing he said was implicitly partisan. Everything is so divisive now that it seems people see anything remotely close to a dissenting opinion as opposition. Where is the amicable discourse? Once that dies, democracy itself is dead.

  • [Deleted User]MavReborn (deleted user)

That was really rude! I have no problem when people ask me if I am or not! I understand both sides! I appreciate when people like that put it in their profile so you know. That way there’s no wasted time or getting your hopes up on either side!

  • @slowblink I was just saying where all the misinformation I've seen comes from. I'm sorry if that bothers you. And as you can easily see, the article didn't say what he claimed it said. As far as amicable discourse, I'll talk with anyone who isn't opposed to my existence.

Well… As someone who is now currently sick with covid for the second time, which I got from a vaccinated person, same as last time (confirmed with positive tests/illness symptoms in both people, and my minimal contact with others so it’s easy to pinpoint from who and when I got it both times), there’s certainly a pattern there. I also have noticed an emerging pattern that hardly anyone who got the shots and boosters has not also still gotten covid.

So, guys, please don’t dismiss the concerns people have about recognizing that the shots are demonstrating not really offering the protection they were promised to have at this point. What I’ve experienced has been the convincer more than what others, particularly those in power profiting from the creation and advertising of these drugs, are trying to tell me.

Please don’t censor or ban me for reporting what I’ve unfortunately seen with my own eyes and experienced in my own body. And I’m not here to start any fights or debate with anyone, just to ask everyone to be kind to others, including those who may not agree with them, based on personal experiences.

To the OP, @Luvs2cuddlewith yes she absolutely should have told you first if that was a make or break. I’m sorry that happened. 😞

    Yes!!! 😊

Gosh, I'm so glad the moderators know that I'm a stupid child and helpfully censor content for me.

Please read the forum rules. Anyone who wishes to participate in the forums must abide by them. If you don’t like the rules to which you agree by virtue of participating in the forums, you are free to leave and participate in other forums that are more to your liking. - Babichev

@TheMidnightOwl Very appropriate post. Thank you.

@melissa_em I think the people who it is the most important to talk to are the very ones who are opposed to your existence. The hard conversations are the ones that create change in the collective consciousness. Nothing changes by talking in an echo chamber.

  • [Deleted User]slowblink (deleted user)

@Mike_Girard Ahh, the expanded version of attacking the character of the opposed instead of their argument. It has also been implied that I was right-wing when there was no previous political context. The curse of being a moderate...both sides think you're from the other.

  • @slowblink I get it, for you it's an intellectual exercise rather than your life being at risk. Maybe you have the patience and strength to argue with people who spew or support hateful rhetoric that says you shouldn't exist. I do not. Particularly those who when confronted with the fact that such hateful rhetoric exists, double down and blame us for pointing it out. As if there's something wrong with not wanting to be killed.

  • Ahh, cuddle comfort. A site promoting an activity where you can easily catch a disease named Covid and then censoring and banning people for talking about set disease. Gotta love it.

  • I think I caught Covid just from reading @Midnight01 's comment. Anyone willing to address this one? I'm too tired.

  • [Deleted User]Btown (deleted user)

I think people only get sensored when they provide misinformation. The moderators do a very good job of trying to keep to scientific facts.

@melissa_em As a black person, I'm actually 13.47 times more likely to be involved in a hate crime than a trans individual. Marginalization isn't a competition but just a bit of perspective. Also, most of these conversations happen online where the risk of bodily harm is nill but all of this is truly besides the point. I can totally understand and respect your desire for security and self preservation. Your safety is your prerogative and nothing should stand in the way of that. I just feel like it is my duty to have these conversations as it will ultimately result in a world that will be much safer than the alternative.

  • I just put it in my profile

  • [Deleted User]slowblink (deleted user)

@Btown Truth should be defined by the majority that is the users not the minority that is moderators.

  • [Deleted User]WriterGF (deleted user)

@slowblink That's not how privately owned websites work. Without moderators, this site would be a cesspool.

  • [Deleted User]Btown (deleted user)

    @WriterGF Agreed.
@slowblink Are you suggesting that a poll be taken from all the site members? Good luck with that.

  • [Deleted User]slowblink (deleted user)

@WriterGF Yes, I understand that. I'm not saying the site should have no moderation. I'm saying they shouldn't moderate what is truth. We all objectively agree on what is vulgar and inappropriate(cussing, nsfw images, CP, spam, scammers, etc.) so moderate that but not debates that pertain to real world issues.

  • @slowblink I appreciate that. I hope hate crimes against black people are never legalized (making them technically not crimes) the way that's being done against LGBTQ+ people. Bathroom bills were just the beginning. Ohio's law that says that if a kid wants to play sports, they can thoroughly inspect that kid's genitals if the kid is suspected of being trans is another. Harassment, discrimination, and having their existence denied (including online) puts LGBTQ+ people at high risk of suicide.

  • @slowblink I just visited your profile and see you have been here awhile. The Admins do ask for our input and recommendations when a Moderator position needs filled. I have recommended many names over the time I have been here 😊

Also I keep reminding peeps on forums that the VAST VAST majority of members do not participate in anyway on the forums. I think we all get caught thinking that communication and interaction here on forums reflects the CC Community. In my experience chatting with peeps not on forums, it is a very different world there than what is written here .

Back to OP. Yikes that's a rough start on your first few days here on CC. But some would be impressed you made a connection in a short time. 👍 Also the vax / not vax wasn't a hill I wanted to fight on so I just put my vaccination card on my profile pics and I haven't had any bad experiences!

  • [Deleted User]slowblink (deleted user)

@melissa_em Yes, there is an egregious lack of education, empathy, and compassion when it comes to trans issues and the 'solutions' aren't elegant and lead to intentional or unintentional marginalization and harassment of trans individuals. Accordingly, this is a time of great tribulation that will hopefully lead to a better world.
