Scammed by scammer on this site

edited September 2022 in General

Recently deleted user name redacted just stole $150 from me. This time it was even through the scheduling on this website. And after we had a good phone call for 30 minutes.

I don’t believe this is a site that I can trust anymore. It’s literally not worth it.

And don’t tell we have to look for pros with good karma. This one had enough good karma. Probably all fake. It would take almost no tech Know how to do. There’s little this site does to verify anyone.

Beware. At the very least no one should ever pay for services upfront. If one of these scammers insists on payment upfront ignore their request and block them. Even if they seem so great on the phone. This is how cons work; they give you confidence in them. And they are terrible scambags who use this site.

Please do not use usernames in the forums. ALL sessions should be scheduled through the site. I do not see where you have reported this. Please report this incident immediately. The site cannot do anything without a report. If you have reported it, please contact me directly. - Babichev

  • Sorry you got scammed. Scammers are everywhere, and they'll likely be everywhere so long as there's someone out there with money to take. PT Barnum was, unfortunately, right - sometimes I'M the sucker who gets fleeced.

Trust your instincts. Paying for services upfront before meeting is usually a bad idea for most things.

I'm been scammed before on here too. So sorry that happened to you. It messes with your psyche and makes it so much harder to trust anyone.

  • @Jubal yup. I’m one of those dum-dums. But I won’t be looking on this site anymore. Too many con artists.

  • Omg how awful! I'm so sorry someone did that to you 😔

  • Did you take any screenshots of the profile? Scammers like this when they pop up under another name are not particularly creative - they will use the same profile description and fake karma with different photos. That makes it easy to identify them in the future.

@Syins , this is terrible and I'm so sorry to hear it. It's not a reflection on you (as you jokingly call yourself a "dum-dum" above): choosing to trust people and believe that they're overall good is an honorable trait to have. I hope the scammer gets banned and that your week improves. ❤

  • @HealingHazel thank you dear one. I appreciate you.

  • First of all, I'm sorry you got scammed. I hate hearing these stories. 😔 Paying in advance (or just a deposit) is not so risky when using PayPal (NOT using send to a friend), square, etc. Legitimate businesses use those payment services not just because it's illegal to use send to friend money transfer services for business use, but for your own protection. That way you can dispute the payment / charge saying you never got the services you paid for, if someone were to try to scam you. If you use any send to friend services, you accept that risk of losing the money.

@Syins I am sorry that happened to you. I have many cuddles and karma (but never paid a deposit prior to meeting). I typically pay in cash 💰 upon meeting. (I do however understand why some established pros do offer deposits because sadly some people will no show if no or little investment is involved. You are not a “dum-dums”, people in general are put in situations where we have to trust others by making our best guess. It could have happened to anyone. What happened is severely messed up but I hope that you have better future cuddle experiences. 😭

  • @Syins, of course. Sending hugs.

So I guess this is what she meant by the magic of cuddling. Sorry @Syins, you didn't deserve that.

  • @Syins sorry this occurred. That is very unfortunate 😣

@Btown thanks for reminder. I thought that there was a thread that she started!

  • @Btown ha! Yes. Making a $150 disappear is a pretty good magic trick. I like your grim humor. :)

@SuperManCuddles thank you sir. Good advice.

@ubergigglefritz thank you. I appreciate your genuine words & guidance.

@CuddlesByDeep thank you, sorry about your own experience & no but I have photos of her. Or rather photos the person used.

@JessieLove thank you for your kindness.

You’re all making me feel just a little better already. Thank you, sincerely.

  • @OhioMike you’re right. And you were friends with her I noticed. In collusion MUCH?! Huh Mike?? I’m just kidding. :) I’m not like that.

I've encountered them here, too. Asking for money....be very careful.

  • Imagine from the perspective of the pro, often a young woman, meeting up with a strange man. I would think there's a lot more at stake than $150. I say this only to offer some perspective.

@Syins yes we were friends on CC . We had been communicating thru site for about a month and like mentioned before she was active on forum . We were discussing meet and greets etc. In my defense though I do have a few friends here on CC and can’t keep track of them all 😙

  • edited September 2022

@UCpaaHVg6u0 No, I don't think that perspective is very helpful. If she didn't want to go through with the meeting, or no longer be a pro on here, she could have refunded the $150 first and then left. In fact, she can still just refund the money, but has chosen not to.

@UCpaaHVg6u0 If that’s what you think of when someone gets money stolen from AND your first thoughts about a woman meeting with a male stranger then I gotta say that’s a pretty disturbing.

  • I'm going to speak up for @UCpaaHVg6u0 just a bit. He's been doing some work on understanding what life is like for women with regards to safety, and I appreciate that. I don't think he's trying to say that stealing is ok.

  • Any violation of boundaries or deception is just as valid of whatever trauma the person feels from it. 💜

Cuddle_RN I’d like point out that his profile says his friends would call him an “a$$h0Ie.” I hope you have a great day.

    Stealing is in fact wrong.

Hey also something to consider @Syins , the member who did this is now deleted. Recently learned that delete doesn’t exactly mean delete . Assuming you have reached out to mods to see that profile gets banned and not just deleted. ? Delete means they can still come back here somehow 🤔

  • @UCpaaHVg6u0

Have you ever heard of any situation involving something negative about a woman in which your reaction was not to blindly defend the woman in the situation or women in general? Women are human. Some women do bad things, just like some men do bad things. Trying to avoid this fact doesn't make you enlightened or somehow better.

  • But yeah OP, there are some scammers on the site. You definitely shouldn't generally be sending money to people until they show up.

While of course this is unfortunate... how is it the site's fault? If you hired someone off Craigslist, and prepaid them, and they don't show up, is that the fault of Craigslist?

  • @CuddleWho thanks for the awesome comments!

  • @Syins that's why I don't do deposits for that very reason lol

  • @Syins I'm sticking with what I said because although there's nothing right about scamming, it seems rather absurd to me that the amount of attention given to this issue is way out of proportion to the unmentioned multitude of times that women here get threatened, coerced, and bullied. Suck it up, pal. You got your sympathy, now try to learn the basics of sniffing out a scam. Basically I was saying, it's just money and pride.

  • @UCpaaHVg6u0 your friends are right. :)
Thank you so much for your awesome comments! (Actually I haven’t read your comment. Makes me feel very good.)

I was scammed for 50.00 by this guy says his name is [name redacted]. I know where he works. Going to stop by & expose him.

Photos redacted. It has already been pointed out that identifying members in the forums violates the forum rules. In addition, photos were removed from your profile and you reposted them. Time out for 3 days. In the future, do not post revenge posts and do not override moderators’ actions. - Babichev
