But nice to know that some find it necessary to also offer nothing more than a critique on spelling (as opposed to their typical gushing compliment in most cases)
@quixotic_life 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Especially when they notate what the word is. If you know what the word is, why try and humiliate someone because if a typo or misspelling? Seems totally unnecessary and very passive-aggressive.
No one is purfect.
@quixotic_life I'm unfortunately one of those people who wasn't noticed so when they did notice it was too late. By the 10th grade I had learned how to live with my learning issues. Last time I was tested I had the reading and spelling of a 2nd grader lol but when I left 10th grade I had almost a 4.0 was taking harder or double classes. I use to be really good at Scrabble btw hehe Just because I didn't finish high school doesn't mean I'm stupid. Honestly it's nice to be "book smart" but what is really needed most in the world is common sense. Oh and in case anyone is wondering about my reading skills....I have no problems reading books for my age range. I can read 300 page books in days. My record is 12 books in a week (not all 300 pages 🤣) I was really good at using a dictionary growing up.
@FunCartel you can humiliate someone who knew it was wrong in the first place. It doesn't bother me when people point in out that it's wrong. Honestly doing stuff like that is human nature. Someone do it more than others. Now when there rude about it then I care. I know why they do it to. Not everyone knows it's spelled wrong. It took me 20 years to be able to spell ...... couch..... Yup I know hard huh lol 😂 but because I can't spell well I had to learn different word that meant the same thing in a different way. Depending on how you use a word it will have a different meaning. PS I wanted to be a writer when I grew up hehe 😆
Nice to know some folks' passive aggressivity is in full swing, even when they point out others' passive aggressivity. What large contributions it brings to the thread to correct others' corrections. But this is me not complaining. Roar.
Should this be in the irk thread? Gee golly.
@cylee1180 The point is logical—if you understand what the word and meaning conveyed is, it serves no purpose to publicly bring it up. The act of doing so is smug and impolite.
Everyone is passive aggressive to a degree. I know I am. You are too. You call people trolls and names based on your assumptions. But if you care to know more there were a few people on these forums in the past that ridiculed people’s spelling and grammar. It gets old and when you know full well what the person meant and if their post is riddled with misspellings, so what—you don’t know their story or if English is their second or third language.
I pointed out the act out on solid evidence. You called someone a troll because you thought they were even though people had spoken with him and found him not to be. But you were chomping at the bit to have a gotcha moment with me so you could indulge your passive aggressive tendencies. Enjoy whatever thrill you got out of that.
@mama_bre that is true, but it wasn’t you that was singled out was it? The person that was was obviously pissed about it. There are dozens of misspelled or incorrectly used words here everyday and not every one of them is pointed out. There is history there and that correction was pulled out intentionally. So your point is correct but that is not what happened here.
👍
My fun post turned into spell check.... WTF man?
@Mama_Bre Exactly. On the bright side your post has no misspelled words.
Edible scrabble letters….hmmmm. Halloween ideas are brewing.
@FunCartel idk if it's the post or a comment but honestly why care? FYI you can buy scrabble letter molds I believe on Amazon is where I saw them.
Omg so love this time of year as well! And ABSOLUTELY LOVE HORROR MOVIES! I can name so many great ones! Recently I saw the BARBARIAN movie and it was slow moving in the beginning but by the end it was so twisted! Def recommend!
Omg!! @FunCartel ~ Edible/Editable Scrabble!!
Brilliant! If you have leters to exchange you eat them and pick new ones! Now misspelling words will be something I can look forward too (cause we'll have to 'eat' our unallowable words)!! Oooo... or we could play it like Upwords but instead of stacking to change the words you eat the letters you're replacing!
And what?!! There are letter molds on Amazon?!! I'm thinking at least one of these needs to be a thing!! I want to make some with chocolate and mint melties... like Andes mints!!
Oh my gosh... @Mama_Bre ~ A Halloween themed idea!! We make an edible search a word! As you find the words you pipe an icing oval around it! At the end you get to eat any not circled, or that are circled?, or whatever! Just yum!!
And @cylee1180 ~ Indeed! I'm one snarky ass, passive aggressive bitch sometimes. I really don't tend to hold grudges. However when someone singles me out a second, third, forth, etc. time, all the irk I felt before returns and joins the new irk.
Will I get over it? Sure, it's not like it's a big deal. But will I do so quietly? No! No I will not. So, to each their own. Lay it down if you must, but don't expect me to just lie down and take it.
I have been feeling cuddle-deprived lately. Now I wanna cuddle while watching horror movies. That seems like it would be really fun 🎃
@Charlie_Bear I LOVE watching the Garfield Halloween special every year around this time! Also It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is a yearly must! Glad someone else is as nostalgic and young at heart as I am. 🥰🥰🥰😂😂
Alright y'all I see what we all need. Cuddles and scary movies lol pillow fort in the living room lol
@Mama_Bre yay pillow forts, cuddles and scary movies!! Sounds perfect.
I have great memories of getting to watch horror movies when my mother was out of town with my older sister and dad. We’d watch: Nightmare on Elm Street series Friday the 13th Night of the Comet (a forgotten but great movie where a mysterious comet’s tail turns people into zombie/ghouls. It’s soooo 80’s; it even takes place partly in a mall. )
Haunting of Hill House was great. So was Midnight Mass.
(Also if anything is misspelled or if I’m using bad grammar know that I deeply don’t care. )
@quixotic_life No problems. To quote Wendell from Key and Peele: "I calls it likes I sees it!"
I have no real issues w anyone here, but I was seeing a pattern and a football pile. I also enjoy a lot of what you guys contribute. I'm no longer irked!
It seems cruel to close this thread that was clearly intended to be fun. That doesn't mean I won't if things escalate further... Please be respectful to the OP and keep the topic on scary movies. Maybe even use MxSmith's voice app thing to record yourself in Ghostface's voice if you're feeling extra spooky. Just don't make me come back here again.
On topic though, I always like to watch the Scream movies again this time of year. 😊
@Mama_Bre not the biggest horror genre fan but I do enjoy the parody’s of horror movies 🍿. Like the scary movies collection etc . Pillow forts in living rooms are the bestest 👍
@Shake49 oooooooooooo.👻 Knowing this thread could close makes it extra spooky… let’s not make this one a ghost.
@charliehustle I have to give return of the living dead a try. Cuddling to a horror movie is a mixed bag. But I shall try it. Lol
@jenluvzscooby omg yes! I love it so much haha. I def watch It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown as well, I should have listed that. I usually throw in Scooby Doo Meets the Boo Brothers as well ☺️ But yeah, Garfield just hits different. It’s the perfect special haha.
@cylee1180 if you don’t mind the most overpowered zombies ever haha. It’s such a great movie lol
@Charlie_Bear thanks. Whats your opinion of Zombieland? Haven't seen number 2
@cylee1180 I loved zombieland. I haven’t seen the 2nd either haha
@Charlie_Bear is return of the living dead from 1985? Part two of Z land looks good.
@cylee1180 yep! It still totally holds up and was the creator of the zombie trope where they crave brains 🧟♂️🧠
@Charlie_Bear Thanks for the rec. I'm looking at the trailer and random scenes now.
@Shake49 yes love the Scream movies. Have you seen the newest one yet? I'm guess you probably have lol Also love the Zombieland movies too. More funny then anything.
@Shake49 i love the scream movies and @Mama_Bre the latest one was great
