I’m paying you to leave

  • I would never pay you to leave @Hathor .

  • @Hathor terrific post and outstandingly articulated with words.

The transactional nature is what forms the very sovereignty of a “client - pro” relationship .
By filling that time with platonic love and touch, you leave them every single time in a capsule of joy, love, delirium and safety. To re-enter into that space is somewhat almost a sacred experience because you know in a sense that with every opportunity you’ve strengthened the foundation of your relationship with your pro. It really is a high-voltage dynamic to tune into if you can put the work in to build the relationship .
You are exactly loyal to that which you both know you owe to each other.

Agreed. Also paying for guaranteed presence. You can't tell someone you're dating that they're not allowed to play games on their phone, not allowed to have a conversation with someone else while they're with you, not allowed to decide they want to go home. A booked session means I'm here to pay attention to you.

  • I related to many points raised on this thread; being an introvert, the fact of you hire a pro and know what to expect... also, I've met and cuddled with wonderful enthusiasts here, but it is a more delicate dynamic, especially if it happens for a while.

“Pay to go away.” It’s one way some describe why they use certain intimate services. You are not paying them for the “service” but to leave afterwards. Supposedly with no emotional connection.

I think this is what biancalovecraft is referring to in her response? Maybe. Don’t want to put words in your mouth.

This is not how I see cuddling. Cuddling is an intimate experience. After all, we are holding each other close. Just thinking about it raises my spirits. (Don’t read into that please.) After 32 cuddles, I’m conditioned to get an oxytocin bump just thinking about past cuddles.

It’s that connection that I seek my cuddle partner. Not all of my cuddles have had this connection. My last one did. I cannot wait to see her again this week.

  • EDIT: that client is an introvert and he said it’s sometimes hard to for him to read social cues. He also has personal reasons for not wanting more than cuddling right now. I think a lot of people had strong reactions to my post but they’re missing the point.

  • I think I get what you're trying to say, Hathor. In a way it's like hiring a therapist instead of unloading everything on a friend or significant other. There's a set period of time to safely explore feelings in a structured setting under the guidance of a professional, and after that there's time to reflect on what's been learned. You don't have to worry about whether you've overstayed your welcome or how to retreat from the discourse for a while without hurting feelings, because all of those boundaries are already defined and agreed upon.

The ephemeral nature of the connection makes it safer, because the boundaries of the session eliminate the need to worry about straining a long term relationship.

Several pros I've talked to have told me they want their clients to eventually not have to see them anymore. They want them to be able to have someone in their lives that they can share those experiences with and take whatever they might have learned about themselves and use it with a partner. To me that is similar to the paying you to leave notion, as it shows that there are boundaries in place and that dependency is not being created . Just like they are paying the pro to leave, a pro with good boundaries who wants to help elevate their client and truly help is also in a sense being paid to eventually not be needed by that person.
